Improvement

Using manual is surely becoming a thing of the past even if it's one thing at a time.

PROS

Although we are not fully integrated with the system because of our HR department, work became so easy in the other departments that are utilizing it. Using the system on students and finance became an eye opener and the institution wants more of it. Slowly but surely we are moving to a paperless situation.

CONS

The timetabling system. It has more features to attend to first before using it.

? - You can list iTS Integrator suite amongst the top higher education must have systems

The ITS system really have an apatite for the higher education system on all levels of business process and mandate. At NUST all operation run on the ITS system with the integration functionality data consistency and less timewasting and human hours as processes are automated.

PROS

Integration of data and between processes the strongest plus of system. Easy to navigate, seamless processing and 360 views and best of the reliable logfile system.

CONS

The oracle platform it runs on very expensive and not easy to adapt as we all have different business processes.

Reason for choosing ITS Integrator

Yes, the student system of the iTS system for the price we pay for the system is very very good. The self-help systems really assisted students with Realtime data on registration, billing etc and that give a sense of shared responsibility and excellent service. The system is user driven and development is based on business needs.

Why ITS Integrator is suited for Higher Education

PROS

The ITS Integrator 4.1 is an integrated software suite for core functions i.e. Student, Finance and HR/Payroll management needed as a bear minimum for an institution to optimally function in the higher education sector. Compliance with the department of education, HEMIS, IFRS, Financial Aid (NSFAS) to name a few, makes the ITS Integrator 4.1 an easy to use system for mandatory reporting which can be very tedious if stand-alone systems are to be used. ITS Integrator 4.1 look and feel with more use of the mouse, makes it an ideal package for novice users to navigate between screens. In addition, the ITS Integrator 4.1 is a well-rounded package making report extraction much easier with the Jasper reporting tool being embedded.

The system is fast evolving, new versions are coming up quite quickly for a poor organization like mine

Integration, reporting, iEnabler, EP menu options e.g SACADO-20, SMAIN-10, PBOP-10

CONS

Not logical navigation, navigation on the new forms is frustrating. 2 versions of Java required... Jasper reports with headings and page breaks. Can't do anything with the data without cleaning it...

E-Recruitment

Versions 3.1 was extremely unused friendly and outdated against other systems i.e. SAP, People Soft, etc. The new updates in 4.1 and higher are a giant leap forward.

PROS

Easy interface. The new look and processes are more user-friendly. Paperwork is reduced and more focused on electronic usage.

CONS

Some functionalities are not very flexible.

PROS

Data integrity. Our institutional data is well maintained, and there is the assurance of data accuracy and consistency across the student life cycle

CONS

The product is expensive. The integration with 3rd parties is costly and sometimes ineffective and not available. Change requests are not easily obtained. The product has a high learning curve. The interfaces and UX design do not conform to its audience's needs, it is complex and set in stone.

The system understands the needs of education management in South Africa very well, at a very reasonable price point.

CONS

Not intuitive to use, the underlying technology (Oracle) is expensive to license and support. It is not provide a modern user experience.

All-in-One Business Management System

I like INT4.1 easy to use, the reports generated from it are very good to use in decision making.

PROS

The reports generated from all subsystems and the set-up not hectic, the maintenance of the system is not so difficult.

CONS

After sale support should be improved to clients, and more technical support or continues free trainings via webinars will go a long way to enable clients to navigate the system with ease.

Ready made Jasper reports are assisting decision makers to make fully informed decisions.

PROS

Jasper reports are tailor made as per the TVET sector demands, the reports are assisting to support College units (Finance, SCM, HR and Students), DHET, NSFAS etc.

CONS

Adapt IT must conduct a study based on usability as most of the users are not fully utelising the software due to capacity matter.

PROS

The ITS Integrator is the most reliable ERP system, it has Finance management, Procurement , student administration, payroll, asset management, space management and report in one system. The new reporting feature which provide nice reports, easy to use.

CONS

The current ITS integrator version has some java form which require java installation on the PC.

I once got training and only got to use the skills in about 5 months later when I had forgot EVERYTHING THING (including what it is called) and was asked to report (I'm not sure what report cause I didn't even understand what they wanted till this day).

PROS

Has a lot of functions and therefore allows one to do a lot of things.

CONS

The tabbing and sifting through too many questions and it looks intimidating. Its very easy to forget when you haven't used a functionality in a while.
