Using ABfB to backup my customers' servers and PCs off-site, and to backup my own local data to B2. So easy to use I backup all my managed PCs for bare metal restore.

Fortunately there is a large community of users that you can query for answers to your problems.

A few things that require set up can sometimes be a bit confusing.

I have some problems with the Libraries, sometimes I have to start the software through the Terminal.

The ease of implementation of this server with DiskStation and software is a massive plus for synology.

I have a bare model with a weak cpu, and so every now and then I experience latency issues, or slow ramp up times.

Older or lower end hardware uses a slower ARM CPU. This limits performance compared with Intel CPU based hardware.

It has seamlessly integrated into my daily use for my computer. All files are stored on the Synology and easily accessible over the internet portal.

The cost of storage and the functions, this is a great investment with no learning curve.

But DiskStation does not end here. It has lots of softwares and services you can install for free (or a little price sometimes).

The software is pretty straightforward, with numerous options.

The extra ability to run VMs with in it makes it ever better.

TrueNAS CORE and SCALE do not natively support Fibre Channel.

TrueNAS is great for a home user whether experienced or not, due to its ease of use and value.

I love how easy it is to manage everything in one place. I love being able to run containers and VMs on the same system and assign their data and permissions easily.

Extremely feature rich out of the box, it's extremely stable, builds on top of the very stable ZFS & FreeBSD foundations.

What I liked most about TrueNAS scale was the ability to have a ZFS storage management solution and Hypervisor in one product. This made it an easy decision when choosing a server os for my homelab.

Dashboard is great, and the layout is better than some of their competitors.

The great community plugins and ability to run multiple VMS.

Some weird quirks in the web UI, for example the terminal doesn't use the whole screen and can't be resized. Nothing deal breaking as I mostly just SSH into the server.

Very good integration with Microsoft Active Directory.

Easy to setup and use the interface. Wide range of hardware supported for custom or OOB solutions.

Ease of use, scalability and the ease with which we can customize a solution for each customer.

The lack of a GUI solution to k8 pod information. I also do not like that when saving a k8 config or updating the pod, will auto start if offline.

Before really hashing everything out and learning the qwerks, I had a lot of issues with a two-node pair losing sync. I think this has been fixed in the latest releases, though.

High barrier to entry if you are unfamiliar with server management.

It's dynamic caching algorithms can provide flash performance with inexpensive spinning disk. TrueNAS Core runs on the same code base as TrueNAS Enterprise.

Super easy to setup, and free if you do not want or need support.

SMB works great with Windows and integrates the snapshots with shadowcopies easily. Can even virtualize VM's on TrueNAS (provided you have enough CPU/RAM).

Bad hardware compatibility and I need 40 characters.

Great inexpensive option for backups for a small company.

It's provided a secure and stable environment to take care of the data needs of my clients and it's easy enough to use.

There are some hypervisor functionally currently missing that might get added in the future.

The lack of a home usage design, and the complexity and not so intuitive arrangement of menu functions.

Huge community to help setup and troubleshoot.

The overall experience has been great. After the initial os config and pod configuration, the system runs very reliably.
