Fiix is a cloud-based computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) that helps businesses organize their maintenance departments, get on top of maintenance backlog, and work towards preventive maintenance.

The CMMS helps manage work orders and physical assets, schedules and tracks maintenance, and keeps detailed records of asset performance and maintenance history. Other features include inventory tracking, parts and supplies management, an interactive calendar, printable QR codes for easy asset tagging, customizable reports, multi-site management, ERP integrations and more.

Fiix is a web-based solution, aiding in setup and automatic updates. All users also get access to the Fiix mobile app, which puts the CMMS into the hands of technicians in the field. The system is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems, as well as any iOS or Android mobile device.

Fiix makes it very easy to submit a maintenance request. Having a platform to submit requests gives me confidence that our maintenance department has a way to keep all their tasks organized, and my request is not getting buried at the bottom of someone's email inbox!

Cons

The landing page for this product can be a little deceptive. It looks like you need to sign in, but there is no need to sign in just to submit a request. I think the "submit a maintenance service request" button could be a little more prominent.

We love having one central location to which we can upload requests to have simple or extensive maintenance work done. Rather than word-of-mouth or an email getting lost in someone's inbox, this program has increased productivity and efficiency of tasks being completed. It has provided a uniform way for all of the employees to upload requests, and an "email receipt" is always sent back to those that uploaded a request, and a follow-up email is always sent when the task is completed.

Cons

Everything from the user end has been positive. I do not have any cons to mention as it has only been helpful for the entire workplace.

I like how it also tells you when the request has been submitted and when it has been completed!

Pros

I like that Fiix is a product that allows for a quick report of a problem in a large workplace with many items/places to keep working and running smoothly. It is very helpful to be able to go to Fiix, give a summary of the problem, categorize the urgency of the request, and send it to those who need to know.

Cons

The only thing that I wish was different was that it was a little more accessible. Instead of having to go to a hidden link, I wish it was just right there.

The biggest advantage this software has brought our company is finally having a indexed system for PM information. Instead of looking up PMs in a log book all we need to do is search the WO history.

Pros

Very easy to use, and very easy to train other employee's on its use. At our company we have quite a lot of older employee's that usually have trouble with technology. I recently trained a technician who isn't to good with computers and he can already navigate the UI and submit WOs.

Cons

The only con I have found so far is that I can't seem to print the asset tags. It just doesn't want to print. I'm sure the problem with be fixed. Not a huge deal, but that is the only problem I have had so far that I haven't been able to resolve on my own.

Pros

The ease of use of the dashboard was the selling point for us. It's so intuitive to use and the setup is a breeze from any other program I have reviewed and used. I really enjoyed the preview of the demo software and the salesman was right on point for any questions we had. They really put a lot of thought into this software! I am extremely excited to get this rolling out. This software has the potential to become our corporate-wide CMMS software.

Pros

There are several things about this software that are incredible. First off they were the only company willing to let us try a demo of their program and use their excel templates. They are confident in their product and they should be because it is excellent. Another key selling point for us was that they are very user friendly and provide lots of resources to help anyone figure out how to use their product. The last key point is that their product and the price were perfect for our size. We are not a production facility with lots of equipment, we are a distributions center with 2 mechanics and a moderate amount of equipment. Most companies I talked to just didn't have a product plan to meet a small scale operation.

Pros

-Extremely user friendly
-Free trial available before purchase
-Easy to import info from Excel
-Strong mobile aplication
-QR codes for assets are essential
-Great price
-Very helpful and friendly staff

Cons

-When I created a domain for the trial service I couldn't import everything from that into the actual version when we purchased it.

I like the Dashboard and also the recently updated calendar-it is way better than before. The video and technical support is available in the website that makes me easy to set up the software.

Cons

I didn't see a feature that allows the Work order to starts its hour when open or scanned . I mean that when I scan or log in in the WO the time should start charging to that work order.

I use Fiix CMMS Software for Maintenance of Analytical Instrument under Good Laboratory Practice and FDA Regulations. I'm using it to manage instrument inventory, maintenance schedule, repairs and parts. It does the job very well for a very small portion of the price of a specialized Software for Maintenance Management in a laboratory.

Pros

Best Value for money on a 10:1 margin.

Cons

Not the most attractive interface of all the CMMS Software.

Advice to Others

I was looking for an easy to use CMMS mainly for setting up a PM system to satisfy auditors in our small factory, however my wishlist grew when I realised that our field based activities and difficult to track spares stock could also be taken care of with a CMMS. The problem came when many systems are over complicated and over priced for my use and others didn't have the android app to assist in field based activities. With a small budget for the software I looked at "free" software but soon found the limitations on these, also one system that was free and open source struggled to install on our servers and had zero support.
I tried the free trial of MA and was instantly impressed, it just works! and is very easy to use. I moved onto the cost effective paid version and have been impressed with it so far. I would thoroughly recommend you try it.

Likes Least

The negatives are small and the positives outweigh them, very knowledgable support is there and I have used it by direct email, however a better knowledge base would be great and a support ticket system. A more customisable app and one with offline support for when you have no data signal would be brilliant.

Recommendations

I recommend trying before you buy, I did and MA came on top.

It had all the functionality I needed from parts tracking, meter readings, preventive maintenance schedules, etc.

No schedules are available for common equipment. The price hike made it too expensive for homeowner and small business use.

Recommendations

I ended up writing my own hosted solution. It is free (monetized by replacement part suggestions) and has the added bonus of shared public schedules for common machines (cars, trucks, compressors, generators).

On 372 acres, less than five miles from an extinct volcano, Kauai's Hindu Monestary is the home to 20+ monastics. Here we manage a world congregation and publish an international magazine, "Hinduism Today". We care for the land and buildings, grow much of our own food, and have just installed a 30KW photovoltaic system. We have five tractors, four utility vehicles, a skid steer, a construction loader/backhoe, a "Mini" excavator and hundreds of other assets. All of this requires maintenance, from the largest machine down to the smallest garden bed, and it is all managed through the use of Maintenance Assistant (MA) CMMS.

The monastics use the relational database management system and IDE "4D" for much of their accounting, inventory, member and student data and mailing lists. For many years, it's calendar component was also used to manage and schedule the monastery maintenance until the programming became too much of a burden due to a constantly expanding and changing maintenance need. Also, many much needed aspects such as metering and parts inventory had not been programmed into the 4D system, representing additional programming burdens.

Then monks searched for something relatively simple, inexpensive, and effective - they found MA CMMS. They started with MA version V3.0 in 2009. The initial changeover of hundreds of assets and routines was time consuming, but relatively easy once the overall structure was assimilated. The program works admirably well for an incredibly diverse range of routines. The MA staff was amused to find that the monks even entered the schedules for planting and harvesting kale, swiss chard, and a range of other vegetables; as well as the picking of the many varieties of tropical fruit on the property as each one comes "on-line". Learning to use MA by the maintenance team was not a long stretch from the original system and was quick and easy.

One of the greatest boons in the changeover to and development of the program, was the availability of the MA support team. Suggested changes and bug reports have been handled quickly, sometimes overnight, and they have worked closely with the monastics at every step of the program implementation. They have made what could have been a difficult task a relatively simple and smooth transition. MA has opened doors which would have otherwise remained closed, and provides a bright future for the continued expansion and maintenance of this small Hindu monastery on the Garden Island of Kauai.

As an independent educational institution with full boarding facilities, we are essentially a 500 people village. We manage several areas within the campus, ranging from water & waste to buildings and facilities.

We chose MA because of the ease of use. We set it up on our own and found the process to be simple and well documented. The technical support team have been superb. Prior to this an Excel spreadsheet was used to manage the work requests. No planned maintenance was being done. Maintenance management and control was very much re-active.

We have been running on this system for just over a year and have found it to be an integral part of our daily operations.

Having a one-stop shop for all fitness equipment info, from purchasing to maintenance to disposal have been very beneficial. We are a relatively small fitness operation so therefore do not fully utilize the many features of FIIX.

The software is very flexible. We have been able to configure it to very closely meet our needs.

Fiix is a great work order processing tool. That is about where it ends for me. I need a report for equipment which states vehicle ID, current mileage, next trigger for maintenance based on miles or hours not dates. The information is in the system but you can't get it out in a report. They want to charge me to get this report. All of which is a basic function in any other maintenance program.

Information is in the system.

However getting it out is frustrating.

Overall experience has been great.

Pros

The software is easy to use, maintain and expand in as necessary. Preventive Maintenance schedules can be nested and allow for minimal work orders produced on overlapping PM.

Cons

the only con i have is the software hangs up and you have t reload the page. Work around has been to set the page to automatically reload every 10 minutes. Also work order request fields need to be made mandatory so a work order can not be submitted unless they are filled in. Make this feature selectable.

I was using Maintenance Assistant for a couple years until the computer it was on crashed and the data was lost. When my department expanded we found that it had transitioned to Fiix and bought in much to our satisfaction. We have been able to utilize it for greater labor efficiency and cost accuracy. Very pleased with the support.

Pros

The ease of access on multiple devices makes it perfect for our BUSY department

Having to re log in after being unused for awhile, kinda small thing anyway.

Fiix is helping me to know the assets that we have, those that are due for service, it also helps when it come to stores replenishment knowing what is needed to be replaced, how many items are remaining.
The other thing is tracking artisan performance, how the artisan performs is also captured by during when job cards are printed and distributed.

Pros

Fiix is the a practical and well organised software. There are so many features i like about fiix, but the most important feature that i like is how the software make the record of all the jobs that have to be done, create reports for the same jobs and provide the time frame to monitor efficiency.

Cons

One thing have observed, the software does not present the common known sections such as electrical, civil, mechanical, etc. So i find it some how time wasting to search for jobs that are specifically for electrical or mechanical

We were using a side car program that was part of the financial system which was not user friendly at all.

Pros

I find that the best feature is the iPhone App. It allows my crew to easily respond to calls and have enough detail in their hands to get the repair done.

A very good solution for medium to larger companies and establishments. I used it for a FE College CMMS install and it is working without problems now 3 years later

Pros

The software is comprehensive for a mid value CMMS with a fully featured mobile application built in. The online training package is also very good.

Cons

The GUI can be a little confusing particularly for people unused to CMMS systems and the structure can be confusing if not implemented properly the first time

I think it is a great software program overall. I have recommended it to some other co workers is different departments. It's is perfect for any parts room.

Pros

It's pretty easy to use. I love all the history it keeps. Also has places to put the supplier and the suppliers part number.

Cons

I don't like the load time. When you are adding a part to a work order it has to load for a few seconds.

I am beginning the implementation and so far I would rate Fiix good but not great. Website and articles are excellent. I want it to be the correct fit. I would also like to recommend it. I am not there yet.

Pros

The asset list setup is very good. Most of the functions so far are intuitive and the subject video tutorials are good.

Cons

11 reasons to invest in a cmms, advanced cmms metrics, OEE on the website are all promoted and used to sell the application. I don't understand how OEE is a benchmark reference and not set up as a widget metric. The explanation from customer support that OEE is different for every organization is simply not true. No widget is perfect for every customer but to not have anything based on lean principles when there is so much in place in the application is a deficiency. I expected more.
