How Mainsaver works with us every day.
I have always enjoyed using the product, and it works well for us. Support has always been responsive, and hasn't had an issue they haven's solved yet.
PROSI was involved in the early stages of setting up and using Mainsaver when it was a DOS based process. We have used the product for 30 years, and never considered changing to a different platform. I like that you can't just delete information, since it is attached to other records, but utilities are provided to correct or update information entered. I like that everyone can be given access to meet their specific needs withing the system. I also like that I can see the history and access older PO information as needed.
CONSNo. For our use, it integrates perfectly.
Reason for choosing Mainsaver
Another facility owned by the same company was using that product. After experimenting with it and speaking to various representatives, we decided to stay with Mainsaver.

Backend Management Simplified
We use Mainsaver to keep our maintenance and operations team going at full efficiency. Our engineering team tracks calibrations as well.
PROSI use both Core and Connect in our business. We like Core for our power users and its administration features. Connect is excellent for anyone who needs to submit a request for service, very easy to use.
CONSWould like to be able to attach a JHA to a job plan, as that isn't possible yet. We sometimes see instability when used with Core through vmware Horizon. I would also like to see an easier way to link invoices/attachments to our Core users.

Cost was definitely the driving factor here.

Mainsaver
Wish I could say that we could use it to track costs and help with budgets. But that never happened either.
PROSThe people provided good service.
CONSIt was promised to be able to interface with Great Plains. One of the main reasons we choose Mainsaver. Was told Mainsaver had ex Great Plains people and interface is a snap. This never happened. Also, other similar products can schedule maintenance on beginning of month, or second Tuesday of month, or first week of 2nd quarter etc. Mainsaver could never figure that out or give us that option.

Cost, promise to interface with Great Plains, and used JBS mainsaver in the past.
Reasons for switching to Mainsaver
PMC did not interface with Great Plains and we wanted a one PO system. Mainsaver doesn't either so we probably shouldn't have switched or chosen Mainsaver.

Review
It has a lot of nice features and overall is a good program. It is not user friendly though when it comes to the warehouse that needs to move or re-organize its warehouse as moving parts and updating their new locations is time consuming and tedious to do which deters one from wanting to relocate parts for organization.
PROSProduct is mostly easy to use. Do have some issues with the parts location section. See below.
CONS1. Cycle counting does not always seem to work correctly. 2. Does not have a "mass update" feature for parts. 3. Moving parts to a new location is time consuming. (no mass update) 4. Hate the feature that a new location line pops up when going to the location tab for a part. It slows the process down for doing updating. Get rid of this feature please!!! Just use the "Add" location button if needed.

Mainsaver Efficieny
Mainsaver is an excellent tool for customer service complaints verifies all calls. Equipment Mainsaver provides an accurate financial background of cost to date.Time entry verifies employees working on equipment through asset number.
PROSWorking with the public Mainsaver has documented every call that we have with sewer complaints. It allow us to track an address and our investigate notes are entered into Mainsaver. When inquiries are requested we can provide the history of the address.
CONSI don't know how to use the exporting tool. I would like to export into an excel spreadsheet.
