Limited explanation of functions, a lot you learn by trial by error.

The estimating component is out there for me to learn. Other than a few frustrations with my lack of experience and the way I do thing vs the way the industry does them.

I use other programs/cost books to compile pricing, labor minimums and depreciation. Over all I am very satisfied with Active Takeoff.

AT is a quick and efficient way to take info out of plans and other images, and best of all to document the source of the take off information.

The ease of importing plans from .pdf into the software is extremely intuitive. Active Takeoff allows a user to QUICKLY begin the process of plan takeoff.

He was so nice and willing to help teach me how to use the product correctly.

There was 1 thing that was missing which was joist estimation on construction.

Have to count joists off program. Just limited framing which is what I needed.

The curser is hard to use when trying to do perimeters. A double click will not shut off and i have random lines being measured.

I have used numerous takeoff softwares in the past and this one is by far the best. The ease of use is what sold me.

I love that is allows me to color code plans. As a GC, the subcontractors love it when I have a color coded plan for them.

I found out I was one of the first 20 customers to purchase it in the United States. I cannot tell you how happy I have been with this software and the customer service.

It doesn't have customizable features for flooring. It is hard to measure for trim and/or base because there isn't an applicable extension.

I demoed a variety of take-off packages and for the price this one seemed to be the best value for what we were looking for.

Fully integrated construction management software. Take off Plus saves us a huge amount of time estimating and generating proposals.

I don't really know if I have anything negative to say about the software.

Once you stop paying, you loose access to all of that data.

Then back to the windows CGS version Plus Series. It has been a learning experience and I thank them for encouraging our company to look forward.

One of the best things about it is the amount of detail that we can use as we go through the setup and learning process. I don't like boilerplate software or documents, and CSG allows customization.

This is a very powerful program and you can upgrade, add modules as your company grows. I am also  using the Web Portal which syncs with my computer which is another great feature.

Make no mistake, this package has a large learning and implementation curve. I am 6 months in, and am just scratching the surface as far as having it fully implemented.

I find that the software is very user friendly and easy to move around in. I have trained on computer systems before and the simplicity of the CSG software makes my job a lot easier.

Robyn is my support for the accounting side and she is very knowledgeable and is great at taking you through the program step-by-step. This is a large investment and commitment.

We are ever continuing to improve they way we do our business with the help and implementation of ideas and concerns into CSG's annual updates.

CSG is no different in that respect to time, however, the return investment for time spent is superior to any tool in the industry that I am aware of.

Learning the software took a few months, but once it was up an running, it began to save time and money instantly. The support is quick and very helpful.

You will have to in order to succeed in today's markets. Do you have to be faster, more efficient, and agressive in a 2013 arena, yes.

TakeOff Plus is extremely cumbersome to navigate through and very inconsistent with its report totals. We found much of the software to be a burden to get through.

True there was a big learning curve but their  team was great to teach me through training sessions and today I am using The  Pro Series.
