I am core ETL developer and I use this tool from last 7 years. I develop all sort of transformation to fetch the data from different servers and dump the data into different forms such as files, xmls etc.

SSIS is the most user friendly etl tool present in the market. You can do anything with it. All sort of transformation and even use c sharp.

Nothing much to dislike but yes one thing if they can improve is get more comoatively withnothwr dbs like oracle , teradata, etc.

Overall it's very user friendly and efficient tool. Helps in execution of SQL task/SP creates so much ease of use and transform and load the data into target server tables without creating any issue. But I wish more support was Available for trouble shooting the issues because that may help me save effort and time.

SSIS tool is a very user friendly and efficient for ETL Developer. I have been using it for a year now and I felt the setup was pretty straight forward on Visual studio IDE and no prior perquisites needed. SSIS tools always helps me to fetch the data with all sort of transformation from various servers and load it into database to bring it to users dashboards

There are sometimes the tool takes huge time to load the initial package load itself. But in general the tool is intuitive to use.

we were doing a sync of orders and order_items to a database to reconcile differences with accounting and crm systems, while this worked adequately, it was not fast, and had issues.

I was able to retrieve bulk sets of entities from the remote api/system using odbc sql

keeping the product up to date with the api it supports was not done in a timely basis. there were several api features that were not supported.

Very good, we had a couple of issues with Alteryx not interpreting the data types from the connector. But after chatting with the customer service team they quickly put out a patch for us to trial before purchasing the software.

We were trying to connect to a mysql database hidden behind an SSH server, currently something that the native mySql ODBC software did not enable. Once set up it was very straight forward to use and integrated well with our current systems.

The documentation for setting up the connector was not the most straightforward, and initially we had to contact the customer support team to get it working.

Easy to implement, relatively inexpensive.

The posibility to connect multiple data sources/destinations and transform your data. Has all the usual transformation and there is nothing that you cannot done. Also its very powerfull and can process a large amount of data.

Sometimes SSIS is buggy and the pipelines are not easy to maintain along the time.

over all experience is fairly satisfactory. but i wish more support to troubleshoot issues was available as that may help save so much time.

extremely fast data transfer capability. Execute SQL task adds so much ease of use when dealing with relational databases.

send mail task started to fail due to email server deprecation (Decommissioning of SMTP) and the support available was too difficult to get. so I had to disable this task altogether.

Used the ODBC driver to connect Tableau to a SQLite database, worked great for a proof of concept and ended up in use for 12 months before we changed to a production DB system.

No real issues with the software, it did what it was meant to.

It works properly , and made data integration with Salesforce very easy.

I dont know if there a way to work in cache, so I don´t need to connect to Salesforce while developing. It´s not bad, just an option.

I used SSIS to Load data from XML, CSV, Excel.

When you work with a lot volume of data, this is you better option

It's so dificult to handle several environments and pass all packages across differents environmnets
