PROS

I enjoy the ease of use in the admin section commerce build provides. I am able to access up to the min site information to include visits, log in's and purchases. The assistance is great from the team and easily accessible through the admin portal on the site.

CONS

In the beginning things where slow to get started and the training could have been provided better. In the future a power point or video training to new customers I would recommend

Perfect for SAGE300

Wishing for AccPac and the old webstore

We are not satisfied with it, it has not proven itself yet.The salesman was all energy and commitment until the sale was done, NEVER heard from him again after the sale was completed. No follow up of any kind.The first consultant did not know how to listen, was constantly pushing his own ideas through.

PROS

What we were told the system could do for us, and what it actually does are not the same.On our old system we were able to broadcast a seasonal pre-book list out, this was clearly communicated as a requirement. Between Sage 300 and Commercebuild we have never been able to create an internal prebook list, to be sent to our customers, nor can we have one set up internally for order entry as per the prebook price list.

CONS

Orders that are placed are not sorted /forwarded to each sales rep, We cannot do a group email blast witha specific price list for bookings, there is no option for an "alternative price list, like there wasx

Reason for choosing commercebuild

ComputorWorks gives us great support, and if it was not for him we would have moved to another program of some sort.

Reasons for switching to commercebuild

Our old system was no longer supported (AccPac/Adagio) and we thought it would be better to upgrade and have a better product with more possibilities.The contrary came true, we have less options now than what we had before with good old AccPac and Virtual Vendor.

Great product and people

Commercebuild has been fantastic. They have worked with us and listened to our needs and wishes. The support team has been great and they've bent over backwards to help us implement and resolve any issues we've had. They help make my job easier and the website running smooth.

PROS

The customer service is excellent. The support team is very responsive. The backend can be very user friendly or if you are more tech savvy there are plenty of options to customize and apply your own CSS and Javascript.

CONS

I would like to see the UX updated on the back end and the checkout pages. I would also like more types of reports.

Post implementation support is first class!

We could not recommend commercebuild enough to anyone looking to revamp its website and implement an e-commerce option.

PROS

We chose commercebuild from a long sheet of vendors that we selected. We desperately needed to revamp our website and implement a shopping component to it. From initiation to completion, commercebuild kept us on schedule and on budget. For those things that were not covered in the budget, commercebuild was up front and clear about any incremental costs, so we felt as if there were no hidden fees. However, commercebuild's true strength is in its after market support. It's Customer Service team is unparalleled! If we run into an issue, one email and we get a response within an hour, if not, within minutes. Most of the time, the issue itself is resolved within the day. We might have had one or two projects/issues that took more time, but none that hindered our business in any material manner. Commercebuild Customer Support team is truly amazing! Even if there are limitations to the site (on the rare occasion), the team will help to brain storm alternative solutions, so they end up acting as true partners/consultants to our website. Of course, commercebuild was not the cheapest vendor that we were considering. They were in the mid-range of vendors, which we were targeting because I often believe you do get what you pay for. What I can say without doubt is that commercebuild is the very BEST value for money one can find.

CONS

From time to time, we will have an idea for our website that is not possible to execute due to the limitations of the website. For example, we wanted a particular font to be on the tool bar but it could not be added to the site. However, the commercebuild team helped us to build around its site so that we were able to ultimately get the font we requested.

Reasons for switching to commercebuild

We needed greater flexibility and functionality, in addition, to being able to create a user friendly site for maintanence.

Good product but room for improvement

It's been pretty good. I like the program and it does the job. However, there is always room for improvement.

PROS

Pretty easy to use, but difficult to diagnose problems that occur. Training didn't cover all of the options available, so there is a lot that I don't know about what it can do. There might be solutions to some of our issues already in the program and we don't even know about it.

CONS

We can't modify the documents that get sent to customers (#1 request from our users) and again, I wish I knew what all of the setting actually do. Also, there are desired fields that we would love to be mapped to our ERP, mostly with customers setup.

Because it integrates with our ERP (Sage 300) and it was recommended by our business partner.

Solid software choice for Sage 300 integration

PROS

Commercebuild easily allows us to integrate Sage 300 with our website for online ordering/account viewing. Admin/maintenance is fairly easy for the most part. You don't need to be a web developer for the day to day maintenance and updating needed for your website. The user manuals/reference are all quite helpful and the new chat features with the developers make problem resolution quick and painless.

CONS

Product setup/listing can be quite tedious and involve many steps. Variant products tend to be the most complicated but once you have the process down it doesn't seem as daunting.

PROS

Generally the software is easy to use and the integration into Sage has streamlined our business processes. Any queries or issues are quickly dealt with by the team. [sensitive content hidden] in particular is excellent and very knowledgeable.

CONS

Some B2C features are lacking, such as integration with Mailchimp which would enable us to utilise abandoned cart emails and personalised email marketing. On the development side, it can take a long time for new features to be implemented and as with every integrated system, there issues from time to time but they are usually quickly resolved.

Excellent Customer Service Team

Overall, I think its a good product.

PROS

The absolute best feature of using Commercebuild is the chat with an agent. You get real-time help from a solid customer service team that understands your question and responds quickly. They typically have an answer for you within 24 hours or less.

CONS

Building containers is not that easy or straightforward. Content does not always display properly across different devices. There are some limitations to our theme.

A Good Solution For Small Business

Overall the team and support around the platform are excellent. They help troubleshoot issues and are proactive in providing solutions where needed. The software itself has helped us grow and while it has it's limitations our customers enjoy the easy to use layout.

PROS

The website is very intuitive and easy to use. Essentially a cookie cutter templated system that even people with little to no coding or design experience can build on. The categorization of products and synchronization to our SAGE ERP & CRM is flawless and changes made in SAGE are frequently represented on the website within minutes.

CONS

Given the nature of our business we are yet to be able to find a solution that provides fully accurate shipping costs to our customers. This has resulted in some headaches and a one size fits all workaround being implemented. Other features we wish we had were the ability for reoccuring monthly orders, multi currency features and a more robust promotions module.

Implementation went very well and we were well supported. I feel our pain point now is growing with the program and lack of updates / new initiatives i.e expanding some of our wish list items.

PROS

As someone who does not specialize in coding or website building this was/ is easy to grasp and user friendly.

CONS

We are limited to some things like our promotions module and product add ons in the cart. I know we have made some requests , but it seems like perhaps expansion / new programming is not necessarily easy to implement or not a priority.

Commercebuild is Dummy Proof

My experience has been very positive. I feel I have developed a good relationship with my "problem solvers" and I appreciate their patience with me.

PROS

Support has been fantastic and very responsive. I like the chat button for the administrator. If I'm stuck trying to do something or can't find where to add to my content I can get an answer within a short amount of time. The software is easy to use even for a novice.

CONS

There are very few issues, and the ones that exist are minor so it's very difficult to criticize the platform. It can be slower when we are looking into doing some specialized content but I've noticed that the team has expanded and response time is much quicker. The last time we asked for something they were so quick we weren't fully ready to integrate!

Reasons for switching to commercebuild

We switched in 2017 because it was recommended as the best product to integrate with our ERP.

Commercebuild is great if you are looking for a modular solution that easily integrates with Sage

Overall experience has been excellent. The build out of the site was smooth. The customer support is really good. Responsive. Informative.

PROS

Very intuitive. You don't need to be a java expert to be an effective administrator. The user interface is straight forward.

CONS

Some features aren't available yet. For example, more complex coupon options for potential customers. But Commercebuild constantly adds new functions utilizing user input.

Reason for choosing commercebuild

Shopify (or other shopping cart solutions) require more technical knowledge to build/maintain the site. The Commercebuild administrator doesn't require deep technical knowledge, which is a bonus. Furthermore, the integration with Sage is also not as clean (opening the door to potential pitfalls) with 3rd party shopping cards. Commercebuild is fully integrated with Sage. We have had zero issues on this front.

PROS

The ease of integration with our Sage X3 system is extremely beneficial. The quick update times from Sage X3 to the website ensures that price and product updates are always up-to-date.

CONS

We sometimes run into issues where pricing does not update on our website from Sage X3, which usually requires some of our pricing database tables to be truncated. Despite this small issue, the support team is always readily available to assist.

Commerce Build is a solid base.

It is a solid website that needs some polishing here and there is specific areas.

PROS

Being able to sort customers by name and email address. It makes it easier to find their orders quicker.

CONS

The search functionality is getting better, but it does need more help. Customers are having issues with the recaptcha. After entering their card information and trying to submit the order, the website has some trouble loading. We have had several customers place orders a second time and be upset when they are being charged twice.

I was not part of the process for selecting a new website hosting service.

one small review

There are several places where commercebuild and our other software intersect that do not mesh well. This causes a non user friendly experience, which makes administration for customer facing team members a challenge.

PROS

I do like how visually pleasing it is. Interface is nice and clean and there isn't a lot of clutter.

CONS

Integration with our other software has been a challenge. `

Ecommerce for distributors

Overall it has been a positive experience. The product is very functional and has fit our current needs. Additionally, the Commercebuild staff are really great to work with.

PROS

The Commercebuild customer support has been very good. The respond quickly to our support tickets and follow-up to make sure we are successful.

CONS

We manage the back-end of the Ecommerce site in-house and the upfront product training on how to maintain the site was limited.

The feature that is most impactful is the feature that allows the new customers added to Sage to link with the profile they have in Commercebuild. This allows me as the user to process orders in a timely manner.
