Great software that's simple to customize

I've greatly appreciated using Mergo for sending messages to our skating organization with about 200 members each year. It's simple to set-up in Google sheets, and send messages.

PROS

The standard process for merging emails works well, and the slow send takes a while, but I've never had any emails end up in a user spam folder.

CONS

There are a lot of options, but it'd be nice if there were more context help to bring me to info about features. I suspect there's an option to send to people based on a field value, but I haven't seem an obvious way to do it.

Reasons for switching to Mergo

YAMM was having issues authenticating my account after a few years, and I couldn't find my answer in support besides using a Private browser tab. I went looking for other options and found Mergo with the same features, better integration, and better sending at about the same cost.

Useful but flawed. Company ignores requests for refunds

PROS

This addon is pretty useful overall. It's handy if you don't need to send any more than ~1500 emails per day and want to keep track of opens, bounces, unsubs, etc..

CONS

Their google marketplace page is flooded with fake reviews, so it's hard to judge them before buying.There's a significant flaw with resetting people who've unsubscribed. After removing someone from the unsubscribed list, if you open that sheet's tracking report, the person will be added back to the unsubscribed list.If you don't have many sheets to search through, you can manually find the contact and edit/remove their entry. But if you have many sheets it would be very tedious, if not impossible, to find and edit them.Deliverability:When I first tried this app some years ago, I had open rates of around 70%. With other popular email clients like Convertkit, Mailerlite, Getresponse, and SendPulse, I get 50-70% open rates. I'm sending the same emails to the same recipients.More recently, my Mergo open rates dropped to as low as 20%, and support seemed to have no clue. When I asked for a refund (I just bought it two weeks ago and had to drop my sending to 50/day due to the poor open rates) due to the poor open rates and unsubscribe glitch, they've ignored me.

The simplest AND best in mail merging!

So long as the tool remains what it currently is, I see our team using Mergo indefinitely! We have everything we need and can use it more easily than anything else out there!

PROS

We love drafting emails with quick merge tags, then setting personalized and customized emails to bulk lists. We use it for tracking communication as well as proving engagement, and nothing beats the simplicity of both of those features.

CONS

Because Mergo relies on email drafts for templates, you don't get the fancy HTML emails like in major email marketing options. However, we feel the increased reliability in deliverability plus simple use case is by far more of an advantage!

Needed something easier and cheaper.

Extraordinary programming that is easy to tweak

I see our group utilizing Mergo endlessly! We have all that we really want and can utilize it more effectively than whatever else out there!

PROS

The standard cycle for consolidating messages functions admirably, and the sluggish send takes some time, however I've never had any messages end up in a client spam organizer.

CONS

There are a great deal of choices, yet it'd be great in the event that there were additional background info help to carry me to data about highlights. I suspect there's a choice to ship off individuals in light of a field esteem, yet I haven't appear to be a conspicuous method for making it happen.

John's Mergo review

I've been using Mergo for the passt 8 months and I have to say even though it took me about a week to get very familiar with it, I have never had any complaints about it. The one time I had an issue, the customer service was pretty much instant and the engineer was very nice. As a sales, it's made my life so much easier. Totally worth the money, I would strongly recommend.

PROS

Does automated follow-ups in same email threads

CONS

can't track which link have been clicked if multiple are present in the email

A Big Bang for your Buck!

Fantastic!!! Already referred to several other people that have also started using Mergo!

PROS

The fact that you can track the campaigns and schedule follow up emails!

CONS

Having to clear the tracking column in my Google sheet in order to send a new campaign to the same sheet.

Good! Even contacting customer support was quick and easy.

PROS

Mergo is easy to use. I got up to speed quickly and was able to manipulate the software to do exactly what I wanted.

CONS

Sometimes it was a little confusing to know which version of an email draft I was using.

disappointing support

Lots of emails from them, but no support when you need it

PROS

when it works its ok, but the problem is that it often doesn't work when you need it, no customer service response either

CONS

Subscription is unreliable, one minute it works one minute it doesn't, don't buy it if your campaigns are time-critical or important

Overall experience is very good and I would recommend others to use it to deliver more efficient campaigns.

PROS

I love how easy it is to send blast emails through Mergo. I'd never used a mail merge prior to this so my knowledge was fairly low and Mergo made it incredibly easy to jump right in.

CONS

The speed option doesn't increase the sending speed by much.

Easy to Use Email Campaign Manager

This software now provides me with a great email campaign manager. I can make it as customized as I want and get a blast out to my customers very quickly.

PROS

It's very straightforward in terms of putting together, initiating and monitoring email campaigns.

CONS

Some of the documentation is hard to understand but it is useable - just takes some time to understand the tasks they suggest.

I purchased Mergo after evaluating it's features and ease of use. I felt it was a great value for the money spent!

We will always use Mergo!

PROS

We love the ability to easily distribute our content to as many of our contacts as we need!

CONS

One thing that causes more planning is the limit of only sending 2000 emails a day.

Easily set up campaign emails to go out and provides great detail on who interacts with the emails. Very easy to use.

CONS

Sometimes it is difficult to start new campaigns and clearing the notes from excel.

Mergo Makes Email Campaigns though Gmail very easy!

Mergo has made mass emailing and tracking of those emails very easy for smaller to mid-size projects. If you get into the 10s of thousands of emails, be cautious about how many you set up to have sent at one time.

PROS

If you are already a Gmail and Google product user, this is a natural fit. It was natural to work with the tools you are already familiar with and automate your email campaign.

CONS

It works in the Gmail environment which means the natural limitations of your Gmail account will still govern how many emails you will send each day.

PROS

Really useful plugin for gmail. We use it to send a follow up email to guests after an event. Its very easy to use and we can organise and track responses

CONS

none. The plugin works as it should and integrated well with gmail.

Mergo works well

PROS

I use Mergo to send mail merged newsletters from my Gmail. The integration is simple and easy to use.

CONS

There are not a whole lot of tracking features, so hard to tell how effective my emails really are. Its a pretty simple 1 solution type software.

It's been easy to set up and use, videos are quite helpful.

There's nothing else that I would need, this product does a good job.
