I've used Snagit just about every day, almost since Snagit first came out. I've used it at several jobs. It's really easy to use and super convenient. It's my favorite screen capture software.

I absolutely love Snagit. It creates high resolution screen captures that I can easily copy and paste from anywhere to anywhere or anyone. I use it every day or just about everyday.

Just the scrolling window capture. It rarely ever worked correctly. Lately i have the option to use it, but it doesn't work at all. It's only one feature, but it was a great safety when I just filled out a long form and I wanted to save my answers before submitting in case things didn't submit correctly. I would use it for other reasons, if it worked.

I have subscribbed out of my own pocket for years now, I was recommended it by a colleague at my old job and yeah its been great ever since. The updates are also consistent and usually have good changes.

I like that it is easy to install and use, the help videos are also really useful. I find it works much more reliably than other options and has more features even if I don't always make use of them.

Some of the features don't work that great ie. the scroll feature sometimes does weird stuff. I also wish I could reduce the side of the dock. I like a minimalist desktop experience and having this massive thing pop out is jarring it is just personal preference.

I liked the screen capture and manipulation. But these features have not been updated in many versions and the bugs are not being addressed.

There is too much emphasis on video. Not everyone uses this for video.

It's just a great tool that is easy to deploy, takes minutes to learn, and saves hours of time.

It's easy to use, I can rely on it doing what I need, and the price point is fantastic.

There's not a lot to dislike with the way I use it, so no complaints here.

It has enough features for annotations which are critical for our kind of work. We use the SnagIt Editor the most and hope that the team continues to add more features to it.

Snagit is such a handy tool when it comes to creating technical documentation. The features allow you to create precise and elegant illustrations for all types of venues.

Snagit is a game-changer when creating learning material easily and elegantly.

I wish the pictures created allowed you to specify a prefix in the name.

Image capture and manipulation is easy. I can either leave an image in the library or "save as" to a property owner file location. No Problem.

Creating a red line around a target property is a bit tedious.

In general, it is a useful and practical software to use, a person without technical knowledge can learn to use it from the first time, it saves the videos in the cloud and integrates very well with Camtasia.

I have been using snagit since it was called Jing, then Techsmith capture, in my experience I can say that it is easy and practical to use when recording a screen, its menu is not intrusive, and it can be used with hotkeys to quickly access its functions, it has many ways to capture the screen, you can select a window, a certain area, or the entire window.

What I don't like is that in a relatively short time, it has changed its name and this tends to cause brand confusion. Another negative aspect is that with certain antiviruses its recording stops, this can be very frustrating, since you don't realize it and you have to start the screen recording again.

Overall experience with Snagit is very positive. It is a much more powerful tool than the windows Snipping tool.

Yearly updates cost money. I do not see the value in the upgrades.

I saved money on subscription service for Image editing software, improved on process time with the video editing and screen capture software. We use Snagit to make clear explanations and transfer knowledge to employees and clients, about our trainings. Internally we stopped using other software tools, for those tasks. Saving us money and time, since those tools (Photoshop and OBS Studio) had a longer learning curve.

The most important aspect is the screen capture capabilities. Its usefulness and easy straight forward process. We choose this software a few years ago, since it gives us 3 tools in one, in a very positive way. The screen capture tool, with different parameters, the video creating option for quick videos and trainings, plus the hidden secret, is the GREAT Snagit Editor. Where you can edit video in a simple, not techy way, for most of us, we don't have the time nor knowledge to manage full video editing software, so this tools saves us money, because we don't had to hire a video editor, since most of them are simple direct video content. Second, we no longer buy a full suite of image editing, because the Snagit Editor gives us, 80% or more of the tools we need for our image editing needs. Again its simple to learn and master and is very capable. Why buy a software or worst buy a subscription to a video editing or image editing software if we can buy one time a great tool like Snagit. If you want more power or features, use Camtasia, but for small companies or simple, fast and professional looking videos, images and screen captures, I recommend Snagit, no one else.

I am very happy with Snagit. When it opens too slow, I talked to the support team and helped me out, with my PC configuration. So, it's all good now.

Absolutely LOVE it! I've used it for years as an IT Admin to help my end-users in a variety of ways which include training, troubleshooting, and creating work instructions.

SnagIt is the best screenshot and screencast recording tool on the planet! It's absolutely simple to learn, use, and super-effective with an almost non-existent learning curve! The built-in tools like call-out's, arrows, stamps, spotlight and blur, etc, make it simple to grab screenshots and teach / show / educate effectively and quickly to your internal team, customers, students, etc. It not only does great creating and editing and notating screenshots, it also does a fantastic job of recording screencast video and audio and will also allow you trim the video clips, etc. It also has very solid and built-in sharing integration tools (to Google Drive, Screencast.com, and other online tools).

There isn't anything that I don't love about SnagIt. While Techsmith's flagship product Camtasia Studio has extremely powerful video editing tools (and costs much more), SnagIt does a fantastic job of capturing screencast videos and audio for simple, quick and basic screen recordings. My only wish was that it has a bit more video editing tools and functionality.

I absolutely LOVE using Snagit for all of my editing and design projects. It is simple to use, and it is very intuitive.

I love using Snagit for Screen Capture and editing of images to suit our needs at school.

I don't like that I can't always find where I have Snagit open. When I click to open it again, it states it is already running and I need to close it first. I would prefer for it to just jump to the open version. (Seriously! I have to use Task Manager to close it before I can open it when I don't know where it is.) I also wish there was an option to off-set the images I'm editing.

I have a very great experience since day 1. I would recommend every company that is a tech support to use this tool as it will help you guide your customers easier than ever.

For this review, let me only cover the screenshot capturing and editing aspect of Snagit as I used it them most. I loved Snagit, it is basically like Paint on Windows where when you see, you can know how to use it right away due to it simple design and straightforward function and icon. For tech support like me, Snagit is like a god-blessed tool. As you know, sometimes, end-users that are lacking technical skills doesn't understand the verbal instructions at all. Therefore, with Snagit, it allow me to provide visual guidance for them to see and follow. Most of the time, after sending Snagit edited screenshot (giving guidance through number stamps, arrows, highligh, blurring contents that we don't want them to see), the feedback is always positive.

What I don't like most about Snagit would be its unmodern interface. Well, I don't think I can really complain about this as keeping the interface to be unmodern somewhat contributes to it being easy to use. If you see the latest versino of Snagit, the interface is so outdated. It's like it's from the Windows XP/7 era in which we are already moving into Windows 11. Other thana this, I don't think I have anything else to complain regarding this amazing tool.

I have a software company and am a writer. I use it to create how-to video and handouts for customer training and support. I also use it to communicate with graphic designers and tech support for other apps. I've been a constant user for well over 10 years. I also have their other software Camtasia and the two work seamlessly.

I've been using Snagit for at least 10 years and am on the inexpensive annual maintenance plan where I get all updates and latest version. Note: not a monthly subscription but an annual fee. It's a bargain. I use it for customer support, training, and providing feedback to other software vendors. The captures are high quality and easy to retrieve, edit, share. It's one of my constantly used apps.

I'd like a little more options for adding arrows, call-outs, and text post-capture. What they have is functional and easy to use. I'd just like to easily customize things for personal preference. For it's basic intended use of screen capture it's everything I need.

This system could include features such as automatic periodic saving of recording sessions at predefined intervals, ensuring that even if a session were to terminate unexpectedly, only a minimal amount of work would be lost.

I am an instructional designing and learning facilitator. I use SnagIt for all of my screen captures. I can now also use SnagIt to grab text that I might otherwise have to type out my hand. (This saves me a ton of time.)

It does what it says it will do efficiently. I use it all day long. And even though I have been using it since version 1, I discover new options quite frequently. I have my own keyboard shortcuts set up for the type of screenshot I want to take. I can modify images (crop, add text, add stamps, delete something that shouldn't be there, add arrows and numbers, etc.) in the SnagIt Editor window.

1) Sometimes it does not prompt me to upgrade to a newly rolled out version. But this happens less now than it used to when the product first came out. 2) I wish there were more stamps and they were easier to get to.

I don't even know where to start! It is CRITICAL to my work flow and one of the first software I install on any of my computers. Allows to quickly annotate but also edit images. And I cannot overstate how helpful it is to have a functional and automatically categorized library of screenshots/videos.

The UI does look a bit dated but it is functional.

This is a great product that I use every single day and it’s so easy to use and incredibly good value for the price. I always recommend it to new Product people that I’m working with.

This product makes it really easy to do captures of on screen material. I use it for sharing information about how to design new software or improve existing software. The annotation tools make it really easy to capture and then indicate to developers what I’m trying to talk about.

One drawback is that using it as frequently as I do creates a lot of files. I don’t take the time to organize them so they are just in the library organized by date. This actually works pretty well, but it would be nice if I didn’t have hundreds and hundreds of disorganized files to sort through only by date.

I have use Snagit for around 15 years. It is the only product I will use. It is so quick and simple to grab screenshots, to record videos. In screenshots I love how quick and easy it is to add arrows, text, stamps, just a plethora of features that really enhance your screenshot. In screen recordings I love how easy it is to add a webcam, to add your cursor, to add or remove system audio or your pc mic. Again, just like screenshots the functionality makes it so easy to create something that paint the whole picture of what I am trying to create and share with others.

Installation seems clunky at times, and I have run into startup issues where I have to close the program with task manager and reopen or the program won't work correctly.

I've been using Snagit for years and I find it very convenient and easy to use. They continually improve the product and their support is top notch.

With Snagit, I can easily create training and how-to videos and love how everything is organized and at my fingertips especially the latest feature with the widget in the window that slides out. I also like how they are continually updating their software and their support is quick to respond.

It would be nice to see a Background eraser Tool.
