ChurchTrac is a cloud-based church management solution made for churches of all sizes. It enables users to manage people, groups, attendance, events, contributions and more. Additional features such as messaging, processes and accounting enable ChurchTrac to be the hub of communication for multiple ministries.

ChurchTrac’s membership management module tracks contact data, baptisms, interactions and other notes for members, visitors and prospects. Search tools allow administrators to find individuals or families in the database and create lists of people who meet custom search criteria.

Additionally, members can be organized into various groups, such as small groups, committees and classes, and their communications and attendance related to those groups are tracked.

The giving module provides tools to record and track contributions, pledges, tithes and payments for other expenses, including camp registrations or books. Administrators can also print tax statements for individual contributors and create comprehensive reports for reconciliation and reporting purposes.

Amazing Software

Having an accountant that failed to provide proper reporting prompted us to research a way that would best suit us and at a cost that fit our budgets. ChurchTrac has provided everything we need and at a very reasonable price. Overall I am absolutely thrilled and pleased with the entire program.

Pros

Ease of use and set up. The programs are very self-explanatory. Even the beginner can use this program and get it right.

Cons

I haven't a true con, nothing to complain about at all.

Excellent for our small church

So far, ChurchTrac has saved our church a great deal of money compared to the other software our church was using. Our previous software was very outdated, difficult to navigate & had ZERO customer support. ChurchTrac customer service is top-notch. Quick to respond, very helpful.

Pros

Cloud-based storage; volunteer board members can access areas from their home computer.

Cons

Creating your own reports that fit the needs of your congregation can be difficult. It just doesn't seem very intuitive.

Excellent customer Support

We have loved the ease of setting up online giving. I also like very much setting up events that people can respond to with their intentions of attending, as well as paying for the event online. And the customer support has been precise and timely.

Pros

The value for the price is excellent. The software is relatively easy to use and very intuitive. It has a pretty good import function to bring information over from our previous CMS.

Cons

I have not fully embraced the payroll section--that is partly due to my understanding and working through details. We have been doing payroll through Quickbooks. This will be better, in the long run, because it is designed with understanding of Church needs, but I wish it had more automation for filing reports. For instance, I don't think it will file quarterly payments online.

I like that it is accessible from anywhere and the member access can be helpful. I also appreciate the built-in newsletter interface.

Pros

I have been using ChurchTrac for about 5 years and I have only recently swapped to the online version. I know that Microsoft was making it difficult if not impossible to continue supporting the desktop version. Now that I have started using the online version I'm glad I did because it's actually is easier and has a better user interface than the desktop version.

Cons

In my opinion, the pricing structure is a little off. I know that it has been explained that some folks say why is it so low while others complain, like me. I just think that as you progress to the more costly levels that you should get a bit more instead of less. But anyway, I've made the decision to go with it.

Amazing Support

Church Trsc is helping us to streamline our organizational functions, which in turn allows more time for other activities. Providing access to members to areas to review pledge giving, bulk mailing lists by different targeted groups, form letters, etc. should automate many functions we have been doing manually.

Pros

This online service is easy to use and understand. It is reasonably priced and there is a free trial period. It will serve the needs of our church organization very well. As for the best part of the service, it is the customer support. I am not an expert in setting up data base management. The folks at Church Trac respond to my emails promptly and are very patient explaining the details of the service as well as making suggestions on best practices in implementation. I have been very pleased so far with my Church Trac experience.

Cons

One area of initial disappointment was the lack of a sign-up system with a capped number such as would be needed for ushers and weekly alter flower donations. We did find a work around with customer support help. There is also a place to submit suggestions for future versions. This is a very minor disappointment compared with all the benefits of the service.

Excellent Service

We have been able to place a number to our membership/Visitors etc, list those who are contributing, who have problems and need prayer, contact information, communicate via email and text, encourage, deduce which persons need training, provide reports when we need them and how we need them. It is exceptionally good.

Pros

This software enables me to make contact with key persons any time of the day. I receive instant feed back in the form of a receipt and then solutions to my questions/ problems.

Cons

I guess when I had to go back to the Help Screen to read about what I did not know. I am thinking that maybe it would have been lovely to get either an instant zoom to the section that deals with the problem rather than have to scroll down the Help Screen to find what you are looking for. Of Course I did that a long time ago. It would be lovely to just click on the response to receive instructions immediately you come upon a situation in which you need to read for the answer- for instance how to populate the 'People Screen' or 'Catagorizing'.

This software is very good especially for small churches with small number of congregants.

Pros

This software is one of the easiest to use and very user-friendly.

Excellent Product

Churchtrac has allowed us the make easy contact with Church members by e-mail and to produce helpful reports.

Pros

Despite starting off with the free version, Churchtac were willing to make changes to the programme to allow it to work in the United Kingdom. We now use the online version, we find it easy to use and is constantly being updated with new features.

The Support is first class, friendly and quick. I have told others, Churchtrac is a ministry not a business.

Cons

ChurchTrac Is a God-send

Enabled accurate, easy-to-read reports for financial decision-makers and the entire congregation. We were able to go from an Excel-based home-made tracking methodology to a reliable online mechanism. The customer service is top-notch in terms of clarity and speed of response. For non-accountant volunteers, ChurchTrac has been the answer!

Pros

It is easy to use, accurate, and economical. One system for tracking contributions, overall income and expenses proved to be a real solution for us and will probably make it unnecessary to hire a bookkeeper. This system is volunteer-friendly.

Cons

At one time, we were able to enter contributions for multiple purposes under a single giver's name. This functionality seems to have been removed. Would love to have it back.

The Best Church Software Ever

Churchtrac is not a budget software. It's a high quality, intuitive, useful, and effective software to help the church go about the business of ministry in the 21st century. I really believe they could charge a lot more and attempt to make a buck, but I believe they get what ministry is all about for real churches. They're customer service is scary awesome. They never delay in responding. Always helpful to the very end.

Church Trac software has helped me to collate the details of all my church members and track them easily. Before using churchtrac we didn't have a data base of the church members so we couldn't track them and there lacked a sense of belongingness among most church members since they felt we don't care because we don't look for them when they are absent but with church track, each user is assigned to a particular group of people and now they track them through online attendance check, and then follow ups planning.

Pros

Easy of use. It's easy to use and assign more users to perform specific tasks.

Cons

Congregation access page do not contain much information. For instance I wanted my congregation to enter most of their details themselves, including abilities and experiences but there was no such feature.

Love this program!

Pros

There are several reasons--We needed something inexpensive as we are a very small church with a limited budget. ChurchTrac fit that to a "T"! Also, many extras are included and everything is extremely easy to use. We are new to the program, but are thoroughly loving it!

sooo easy to use but when something happens CUSTOMER SERVICE is AMAZING!

My overall experience with CHURCH TRAC has been TOTALLY POSITIVE. When I had a pretty major problem due to the aforementioned faulty set-up, my customer service person actually CALLED ME and we worked on the issue for almost an hour. The problem is resolved and it was above and beyond the call of duty! Yea, CHURCH TRAC!

Pros

It is very user friendly. Even if you are not an accounting expert, the help guide and the info/definition blocks make it very easy to navigate and GET UP and RUNNING QUICKLY.

Cons

No complaints. My needs for HELP were based on the fact that the person that set up our system originally did not do it properly so I am reinventing the wheel. Even then CUSTOMER SERVICE has been able to help me.

I reviewed several church management systems and Church Trac is the easiest to move around in and to use. Plus with the online version I can access it anywhere.

Cons

The Payroll section could be a little more user friendly. If you need to change the start date for payroll you are required to call customer support. It would be better if you could adjust that date yourself.

Cost effective way to work with data safely

Not been using it long enough yet but it is meeting our new GDPR regulations in the UK, keeps data all in one place and allows different users with separate log in's and permissions which is a great way to organise things.

Pros

The amount of functions is most helpful. There is a place for each persons details so you can see all persons details easily. other tabs allow you to create groups and attendance records, create diaries and events, create reports in many different ways and print them. This is so easy to use but need to allow time to get used to the way it works. I started small with just creating the database on people, then gradually learned how to create groups, reports etc. There are help files and even help notes on each screen that help you with the functions. I haven't used the payroll or donations feature yet so I can't comment on these.

Cons

You need an internet connection. This is not really a negative except that in our church the internet connection is very poor (old dialup-system) so there is sitting waiting for entered information to be updated. Most internet connections these days would be must faster than ours.
Also, if you are a minister with more than one church you need separate accounts for each, therefore logging in and out of each may be tiresome.
