Pros/Cons
Pros
- The best feature to me as an educator is that you can email and text your students' parents. Customer service is extremely helpful and always pleasant.
- The total system is very user friendly and the support is simply "the best. It is very reasonably priced and affordable for large and small schools.
- I like that Gradelink has a wonderful customer service that can help immediately. Sensitive content hidden] has always been so gracious to help out quickly.
Cons
- Print off ALL my students' missing assignments in a report--not just missing from the classes they have with me. I wish there was a teacher app--especially for attendance.
- It can be confusing sometimes, when I want to do things I get confused.
- I have had trouble with customer service in the past.
Pros
- Schoology also has a badge rewards system where teachers can reward students for accomplishing certain tasks. Schoology simply is super customizable with a ton of features that other LMS don't offer.
- The customer service for Schoology is fantastic and the professional learning community in Schoology Educators is active and very helpful to anyone from a beginner to an advanced user.
- I really like the user customization abilities, ease for teachers to send announcements, share content and materials, and ease of communication between students, peers and teachers.
Cons
- I had trouble figuring out the Turnitin integration, but that may have been more of a user error on my part.
- Over the years of using Schoology, they have made many updates that have fixed the complaints I've had. My complaints come more from other systems we use, such as single sign on.
- Service unstable on the East Coast as soon as West Coast schools come online and eventually Schoology crashes and becomes totally unavailable.
