Power Automate for Secondary School-Wide and Classroom Information
In 2020 when school classes first moved online or students attended on a rotating basis, the rush of posting daily lesson plans while starting video calls and managing on premise students was an unneccesary stressor. I built Flows to automate that process - automatically posting the daily lesson to Teams (as channel posts as we were required, which could not otherwise be scheduled) at the beginning of each class, retrieved from a document I updated the day before. I have since expanded the use to school wide collection and distribution of announcements (Forms > Share Point > Teams, Outlook, HTML, RSS for students, staff, website, and TV displays), scheduling of resources in our Student Services departments, and various other time-saving applications. A rough estimate would be that my automations save me approximately 45 - 60 minutes of work each day. This time can be better spent actually interacting with students, rather than clicking through tedious yet necessary tasks.
PROSPower Automate has allowed me to offload some of the tedious and repetitive tasks that would otherwise take me away from my teaching duties and the time available to interact with students.
CONSA first attempt at Power Automate can quickly show even a seasoned technically-savvy individual just how much they do not know. Thankfully, there is a well-developed online support community, both from Microsoft and others, that documents and solves many of the common (and not-so-common) issues that users have experienced in their sometimes very-detailed automations.

Microsoft Power Automate
Power Automate is fairly new in the market compared to players like IFTTT and Zapier but will surely give the competition a good fight. My first automation is still active and given the chance, I would utilize it to automate menial tasks and processes. Besides, it is backed my Microsoft and you can be sure that it will continuously improve as it matures.
PROSI like that Power Automate is part of the Microsoft Suite. Integration between MS apps are seamless since PowerAutomate is native in the MS ecosystem
CONSIf you are a new user, you'll find navigating through the user interface is quite daunting. Although, if you are serious with Power Automate, you will soon get comfortable with its functions and where to find them
Reason for choosing Microsoft Power Automate
I only used Power Automate for small projects to test it out and I am satisfied with it. I am still using Zapier in most of my automations but given the chance, I will definitely utilize it more in my future projects.

The customer experience has declined significantly both from a product design to customer support...
Automated a couple tasks but I'm struggling with several tasks on my list I cant seem to make progress on.
PROSWide and diverse platform with growing multi-functional capabilities and dynamic product development.
CONSUnfortunately, needs to re-think and re-calibrate its business-governance, product development, marketing strategy, Customer Support, and business objectives due to recent decisions to begin charging fees on customers that want to produce their hard work in the .EXE format to run independently on a separate computer for their company or a customer. I don't believe this was the right revenue growth decision, and I believe they are feeling/will feel the pain from business customers migrating to more reliable platforms - I'm already shopping and others I know are as well. What were they thinking by charging a fee on something that the customer already paid for? ***What's next, fee for every job occurrence LOL?***. The Executive that made such bad management decision should go back to the Banking Industry. As a customer, to get more value from the product, I wouldn't mind paying a higher license upgrade fee or a upgraded Support fee, or they could make sizeable revenue from custom projects etc... there are tons of other revenue sources to tap, but charging a fee for .EXE will cause them major customer attrition - users won't upgrade to future versions because they have a new software in place. At the end of the day, users will simply pay for Python certification course and forget the growing WA bill.

How Power Automate can accelerate your organisation
Excellent
PROSPower Automate is an easy to use low code tool that allows most users automate mundane business processes. I love that with some more advanced skills you can still use the platform to complete some more complex automation at low cost.
CONSPremium connectors are sometimes a pain and also sometimes the connectors timing out or being throttled.
Reason for choosing Microsoft Power Automate
Free (as part of existing licence)
Reasons for switching to Microsoft Power Automate

Very powerful and easy to configure
Instead of doing manual and repetitive tasks, we have created workflows to do the same tasks on schedule and automatically, without human intervention. Using Microsoft Power Automate we have saved many hours monthly.
PROSIt is easy to configure, people with no technical knowledde can create workflows. Is it powerful, you can create a lot of different kinds of tasks.

Automation is always the answer
Power Automate integrated perfectly with a number of Microsoft Forms that we had set up. It allows us to quickly process data from those forms in an intelligent way, adding data to existing spreadsheets, sending confirmation emails, notifying a Teams channel. If you’re a MS office user then Power Automate is the natural addition to your suite of daily apps.
CONSPower Automate has a lot of configuration options which is great - if you have time to work through them to get what you want. It can be time consuming to set up, but once it’s in place, it’s almost always worth that time!

Best All Around Automating Tool
Overall it's a jack of all trades kind of platform, it can get tedious with intergrations with other third party applications or suiting it for an environment which is not Microsoft
PROSEase of use and ability to be handled both by non-code and code users. If the company has a Microsoft suite it makes integrations much easier.
CONSBeing a friendly platform for non-developer users can make it difficult for code experts to use it. Documentation isn't as clear or abundant as one would like, and some errors aren't self explanatory. Blog posts or stackoverflow posts aren't much of an option when searching for error solutions, it's still an area that's being built upon.

Good product destroyed by poor management and support
Was good until v7 was released, now refuse to do business with them
PROSEasy to use, very functional, was easy to distribute but read Cons below
CONSLike others I am so disappointed by the direction WinAutomation has taken. Was a reliable product that would easily allow you to build and compile programs to perform your automation functions - we used it in various different areas. The when v7 was released they completely forgot about their customers and came up with the horrible idea of tokens (additional purchases) for each executable you wanted to compile, and worse they tried their damnedest to hide this from their users - so many of us upgraded to version 7 only to find out that we had been hoodwinked by this new licensing policy. And then they destroyed their user community further by killing their once-active forums where users would share ideas and methodologies - first they shifted it to LinkedIn, which never worked well, and then they realised their error and brought it back to their own domain, but they removed all the historic forum posts when they realised no one was upgrading but were still communicating solutions on the older version of the product - there just was not enough new functionality in v7 and onwards for people to justify their silly licensing decision. AVOID using this product! The company is untrustworthy and has made very poor business decisions to the detriment of a large user community. And just when they were starting to get good, too - such a shame. Other products on the market are just as powerful and less expensive.
Vendor Response
Dear Joel, We are sorry to hear about your experience. One of our representatives will contact you shortly to find out more about your specific situation and see what we can do to make things right. You are correct that the original support portal was withdrawn because it was based on old technology. It was never our intention to cut our users off and a great deal of care was taken to check all the (old) forum topics one by one so that all useful information could be transferred to the new one. Only information related to very old WinAutomation versions were not transferred because they were less relevant. The replacement support portal (support.softomotive.com) gives users a much better experience by offering a much broader range of features. There are hundreds of useful knowledge base articles, a forums section intended for users to share with the community their feature requests, ask for tips on how to automate their processes, share, download or run automations.

Automating is a breeze
We used to have 4 people performing redundant excel and database functionalities for 4 hours daily, but because of Winautomation we were able to reduce this task to 1 person 1 hour daily. Also, the software is great with automating batched DOS based functions like renaming thousands of files in a couple of minutes, up/down file via ftp sights, etc.
PROSEasy to learn and use. So much features and a massive array of programming capabilities
CONSBefore their customer service is great with chat option on their site, they changed that. I sent out a request a week ago and received a response with vague answer. I replied back, no response. I made a new ticket and the response was, we sent you an answer, click here to see our conversation. I responded back 2x, 2 days now no reponse.
Vendor Response
Dear RJ, All your requests from what we see in our database, do have a response sent within the same business day or the next (at the latest), providing you with solutions and instructions. Upon receiving your email about not getting a response from our Support Team, our Support Manager contacted you directly via email, to clarify the situation and give you more details on the tickets that you have opened. There was no response to that email from your end. We are proud of our Support Team and our timely replies, given the large number of our users. There is no chance that a Support ticket will not get a reply in a short period of time, unless there is a misspelling address issue in the way. Should we had your permission we could share the history of your Support tickets as well as the email you have received from one the Head Support Manager. Thank you for the time you took to write this review.

Power Automate - Plug and Play!
Overall happy with the software. It has been the first software I used for automation and multi tasking and so far I love it. I am looking forward to more improvements in the future to see what more can be automated.
PROSThis software is very easy to use and does not require any coding background. The code used is low level and very easy to understand. The software is easy to deploy in the company from the first day and benefits are seen almost immediately. Power automate cuts out a lot of manual effort. The best feature of this software is it's the fact that it integrates smoothly with the rest of Microsoft O365 environment. You can have data capture from Excel, forms and even outlook. Power Automate sends reminders for pending workflows, this has made it easy for key tasks to be completed on time consistently.
CONSThe main problem experienced so far is how fast a loop can time out when you have long flow chart. Sometimes the software will crash and you will get an alert about the failed loop, this happens even after successful trial runs before publishing the flow. I have to mention that this is not a major problem as it occurs infrequently, most of the time PA just works great.

A very effective tool to automate processes
a true life-saver tool to automate alot of manual processes, specially those related to "Approvals" and "Follow-ups". If you have an MS license within your organization then I highly reccomend to use this tool. Setting it up for a novice may take time to learn how to integrate and lnk things up but once done and the learning curve is done with, you'll find that you can automate and set SLA/KPI, Approval and Flow Matrices, Design flows with and without "Response" requirements, Create sub-flows for conditional requirements and much more ...... all in 1 place. added to that, the MS support pages & team can support in case needed for the basic requirements, so you're backed-up by a greatto a certain extend too :-)
CONSMS Support team may not always understand how did we create such an extensive automated flow and are astonished to the extent the tool was used to reach the advanced level a flow of ours is at now ... !

Power Automate-User Friendly and fantastic
A great automation tool that can do great automation job which can save a lot of time and avoid repetitive activities. The flows also integrates with other microsoft programs. Amazing tool
PROSIt helps to automate routine activities while saving time and cost. The flows work with external software and applications as well. Easy templates that can be used with user friendly interface. The flow wizard is amazing for those who are unfamiliar. It helps in connecting to data sources from other products other than Microsoft.
CONSThe third party addon connectivity is bit hard and little complex. The connections tend to break and we have to create the whole flow once again. Better History log can be provided. The flow can be made little less complex for the users who are new and unexperienced.
