Airtable is a cloud-based project management and database management solution targeting small to midsize businesses as well as departments within larger companies. This software focuses primarily on data organization and collaboration.

This software uses a spreadsheet format to organize data. Related data can be linked together; for example, contacts can be linked to their companies or inventory items can be linked to their vendors.

Airtable is compatible with multiple devices. On desktop computers, users see data in a spreadsheet format, while on mobile devices, data can be viewed as tappable cards. On both devices, users can add and remove data, attach files and share tables.

Airtable integrates services such as Dropbox, Box, Evernote and Google Drive. Tables in this software are shareable, and users can track who is making changes to documents when. A chat tool is also included, which allows users to chat each other while working on tables.

Airtable was founded in 2012 and is offered worldwide. This software is priced on a per user per month basis. A mobile app is available for iOS.

Revitalized our tracking!

Excellent! A little pricey, but worth it for us.

Pros

If you know Excel, you can learn this super easily. It is super visually appealing and more robust yet customizeable than Excel. Also better than using a random CRM that doesn't totally fit your needs.

Cons

There are some additional functions our team would like to see, but they seem like they're always looking to innovate.

I never want to use regular spreadsheets again!

Trying to keep track of over 100 writers would be almost impossible without AirTable. I'm constantly having to switch content around and this makes it a breeze. The interface is pretty attractive and I love that there is an option for my whole team to use it for free.

Pros

This software is so amazing. I run a really complicated editorial calendar with lots of switching around and archival content, and this makes it so easy. It's a breeze to change the status on all of the articles as I go along throughout the month. I love that I can keep literally any thing I need in the program, including links to other boards or even full length articles and attachments. It's really aesthetically pleasing as well.

Cons

My main complain with this software is that the PLUS features are kind of difficult to figure out how to use. Yes, they have lots of tutorials, but they tutorials are sometimes vague or too lengthy. I also feel like the features you get from the free version vs the plus version don't really justify the cost if you have more than 2 users.

Great for managing business

Pros

I use this for my inventory of multiple different things. I have different tables for different products. I can easily share my inventory with people who help me to sell my products and they can edit and make changes so I can see what sold and what I'll need to get more of. I like the linking between tabs that is a little more user friendly than excel in some ways.

Cons

I don't like that I can't change colors or do much in the way of customizing without paying a subscription. Once my business gets going more though, I may upgrade to pay for more features.

Makes complicated spreadsheets a thing of the past!

Pros

Airtable makes it easy to collect data and utilize it across different data sets. I've used it for a number of different applications and it's been remarkably versatile with the use cases it can adapt to!

Cons

I wish the data mining capabilities were a bit deeper. Referencing other tables isn't as robust as I would like either, but for what Airtable is intended for, it works great.

I'm Obsessed!

I use Airtable for volunteer management. I need to be able to track who is prospective, active, or inactive, when they last volunteered, hours, and all the different roles they have volunteered in. Before, we had all of that information in different spreadsheets and on Salesforce, but Airtable is allowing me to compile it in one place and filter by any of the pieces I might need to.

Pros

Airtable has made my database management a million times easier. With Excel or Google Docs, I had to have multiple spreadsheets that I was switching between and trying to keep track of. Airtable lets me keep all my information in one place, and the filter/grouping features are amazing. I've also been impressed and surprised by how many templates Airtable has built out, showing that it really can be used for a lot more than you might initially think.

Cons

I would like to be able to link different bases so that all information on database entries stays connected. My goal is to eventually replace Salesforce for our volunteer and donor tracking, but right now it doesn't seem that Airtable quite has the functionality to totally do so.

Airtable for Creative Business Owners

Overall, I would highly recommend Airtable, especially to people within the creative industry!

Pros

I love the overall aesthetic and range of organization options within Airtable. Unlike a typical spreadsheet, you can create things like checkboxes, add photos, etc. in a way that looks great!

Cons

The thing I like least about Airtable is the learning curve. It is not the easiest program to learn, but once you do you will be amazed at all the ways you can organize your business!

LOVE Airtable

LOVE Airtable!!

Pros

I love Airtable to make sense of big data, manage tradeshow material requests through the native form options, survey customers, manage team projects, and more. Using blocks helps make sense of my seemingly hair-brained ideas, by using the data and turning it into graphs. Helpful for management that likes facts and figures.

Cons

Can get costly if managing a larger team.

Airtable is WONDERFUL!

Use this software! It upgrades any spreadsheet experience you've had and gives it so much more power and functionality.

Pros

I LOVE Airtable. I discovered it in a group that was trying to create a database with interconnected parts all throughout. The usual choice for such a thing was Excel or Google Sheets. But the functionality of those two programs doesn't always allow for easy linking and web-like ties between different pages. Airtable came to the rescue and made all of this inter-linking possible! Project management and database upkeep are all tied into one simple and lovely piece of software.

Cons

I really don't have anything negative to say. This software is powerful and simple to use. If anything, I'd like more tutorials to be put out by the company to show further capabilities that aren't easily discovered by casual use.

Great app!

Pros

It's a great way to keep track of everything that our productions team has in storage. In just a few seconds, any person on the team knows where a specific item is being stored. In addition, they can see a picture and any important notes that would be helpful for them to know.

Cons

Our team has had a few syncing issues between our different devices. I've also had several issues over the years with app signing me out of my account at random times. A small annoyance, but it's much nicer when an app will keep you signed in at all times.

Promising database features, but very hard to use

Pros

Unlike Excel or Google Spreadsheets, Airtable's claim to fame is the relational database in its backend. This opens the door to querying more data than spreadsheets can handle.

Cons

Pricing is very steep for large data collections. Additionally, for people used to manipulating spreadsheets with ease, AirTable's UX is unintuitive and borderline unusable.

LOVE Airtable

We've been using Airtable to track and follow up on leads for a wedding videography business. It's been a great way to keep track of our communications on a two-person team and make a unique record with a photo of each couple who contacts us.

Pros

Airtable is great for organizing customer leads for a small team. I love the customization options and the fun, friendly interface. The free tier gives us everything we need.

Cons

Some of the customization options can be a little finicky, and some table views don't work on the mobile version which is a little disappointing. But those are very minor complaints.

Keeps you organized

Pros

Love how Airtable functions as a very simple database but is as easy to use as a spreadsheet. It keeps us more organized than Google Sheets and you can create different views for your needs. It also shows who edited what within the Airtable to keep our team accountable.

Cons

For very simple projects that require more than a Google Sheet this is perfect. For larger projects you may want to look elsewhere.

Airtable is great for editorial and content teams

Airtable has allowed our team to keep track of the many pieces of content we produce regularly and organize them according to our own specific taxonomy. It's made

Pros

It allows a team of people to easily organize their content in one place. It has multiple formats, like speadsheets or calendar view, for you to choose what style works best for you.

Cons

Airtable is great, can't think of anything to improve upon right now.

Steep learning curve, but powerful product

Pros

Really slick UI and innovative feature set. There is nothing out there quite like it for organizing corporate information or data such as org charts, customer info, etc.

Cons

Definitely has a learning curve. I am partial to Excel, which means I was looking for features from Excel that don't exist in AT. It's not a replacement.

Airtable gave my team an easy way to track our department's purchases

We used to use Zoho, which was a huge headache on the back end. We moved all of our data over to Airtable and their customer support was very helpful in that process. Our data is now easy to read, easy to access, and much more affordable!

Pros

I love how easy it is to add data to this database. Someone on our team worked with Airtable and they organized a sheet that perfectly displays all fields needed to track our purchases. I love how customizable this tool is!

Cons

I honestly can't think of something to complain about! This tool is completely customizable so that anyone can build their project in a way that works best for them. Some may say it is not as intuitive since the "rules" are very manual and literal, but ijr team appreciates that.

If you are a creative and need a spreadsheet, this is the one.

Pros

It is everything I've ever wanted to do in Excel but couldn't. Attach pictures! Easily make a column of checkmarks! Easy color coding! Sort! Group! Look at one record at a time with all the information. It's just beautiful. The app was recently updated, too, which makes it easier. Desktop version is still a bit better for seeing everything all laid out.

Cons

When I started a few months ago, the intro made it a little muddy about how to use it. But the pop-up tutorials were very helpful. I'm still not sure I'm using it to its fullest capability though - which is a good problem to have.

Useful database and spreadsheet tool

Overall this is a very useful tool that will help organize data into a searchable and easy to use format.

Pros

The UI of this software is pretty easy to navigate and is intuitive for surface level operations. The live nature of the software lets you edit a document on multiple devices which helps when you are using it to input certain data. For example, when creating an inventory you can use a desktop to quickly input text and then switch to a tablet or phone to take a photo or scan a bar code and the document is instantly updated.

Cons

When doing some more advanced level data entry the UI can be a little lacking. You can accidentally update a field that then affects the rest of the database and not realize it till it is too late. This is more evident on a mobile device than on a desktop.

Organize all your tasks

We were able to update important information, update rates, and more. This software is very helpful to get organized at the start of the day of work.

Pros

Airtable is easy to use. You can easily set tasks , reminders, and be organized with your daily work using this software. You can even leave notes on your tasks for for important updates.

Cons

A reminder that the next interaction date is close would be helpful. Especially when tasks are starting to pile up.
