Abeldent Dental Software review
Abeldent is a great dental software. I have been using it in our office for 26 years, since it was first installed. It is user friendly. When working, whether is be in the schedule, accounts, contacts, it is straightforward and has a good very good flow. The Abeldent help section has very good explanaition on topics, when needed. The Abeldent Sotware Support is excellent. Abeldent Staff are always wonderful to deal with and always helpful. It is rare that I need to contact the Abeldent Software Support for help. It is a very good dental software.

CONSHonestly, I haven't come across anything that I don't like. I guess if there was 1 thing that I like least about this software is that it has limited space for additional description/notes for appointments. It would be nice if these extra notes could show up on the schedule. It is only on occasion that we need it. We are able to work around it.

The original owner made the decision, based on reviews from other Dentists and because it was user friendly. Abeldent had great Software Support, which gave great peace of mind.

Overall Abeldent is user friendly, it's only shortcoming is the billing process.
PROSEasy to book patients, Easy to adjust the schedule settings as needed.
CONSThe billing needs a lot of work. Any adjustments that need to be made to the billing (examples: have to go back to the day you entered payment, delete the payment then change name of provider and then re apply the payment again. Anything that needs adjusting regarding to billing always need to be done after changing the date.)

Very easy to use. Still allows old school "letters" to access areas.
CONSWe feel some of the new updates take away from the ease of what was existing and already worked fine. It's great if you're a new office, we have been with Able from the beginning and do not like many of the new updates. Also if you do have a problem the waiting time, to get through to support can take up to 20 minutes and then if you have too many issues they will not handle them all, someone from support must call back - still waiting on a call from two weeks ago when I was told someone would call back re a financial issue - This reply is based on 4 dental team members and our experience. PS your last page of this review does not allow us to identify our office as a Dental Practice - so we used Medical Practice

Easy to use Practice Scheduler
Overall Abeldent is an easy to use and maintain part of our daily procedures here at the clinic. We have gone fully chartless thanks to the features with Abel.
PROSThe features on the administrative side of Abel are easy to use and navigate. The charting and records maintenance is easy, user friendly and the best Ive seen!
CONSThe portal has a long way to go still! The inability to navigate certain functions is frustrating especially after coming from a 3rd party communication that had the functions available.

Abeldent Review
I have been using ABELDent since 2004 and I like the software very well. Ms. Apurva Vashisht she is an excellent sales associate explained very clearly about all benefits can be achieved from ABELDent software to improve our dental business scheduling and including other benefits. Excellent ABELDent technical support team, they go beyond to resolve any issues affecting ABELDent software.
PROSEase of use software, user friendly it has potential for adding useful features.
CONSA bit slow software. Sometimes glitches occurs with SQL services (2 out 10 services not running) after restarting the server PC, you have to go manually select not running SQL services to run. The default backup should not be in C drive, if C drive die you lose the backup, it is better to have your backup in a different drive. Does not have Medical/Dental dictation software with speech recognition, it would be the best to have instead of typing.

Microsoft SQL Server is the most popular and one of the most stable databases globally, and these types of issues are very unusual. Simple actions like reinstalling SQL will typically clear up these types of problems with services and performance. Our technical support team will be happy to look at the specific errors and advise on the resolution. Our SQL backups can easily be directed to any drive. Of course, the local SQL backup does not replace a good regular offsite backup.

Great Customer Service
My review is not realistic to the product but to service that has been provided by [sensitive content hidden]. I have been working with an outdated version at one location and now that I need to learn the CS, she made it very clear. She was about to guide me through the ways they are similar and show me features that will change my dad to day use of this software. She also was very kind along the way.
CONSThere are so many different ways to complete a task that can seem overwhelming BUT because there is options it makes itself very versatile to every user. I also wish I could’ve had more free time to train with [sensitive content hidden]. OR have a L&L with her in office for my team.

Abeldent Is The Dental Software of Choice
Experience has been very good. As stated previously, the support available is easily accessible, and the help index is beneficial. The support staff are knowledgeable and provide accurate instructions when needed. Unfortunately, I have experienced other software company's support staff providing incorrect advice. Especially where the A/R is concerned. Consistent staffing, long term staffing.
PROSProgram is easy to use and the support team are fantastic and readily available. Navigating the options and screens is easy, as the the title and headings make sense, supporting the reporting you are seeking. (with the exception of the Procedure Code Report) When hiring staff, most candidates have used Abeldent Software which allows for minimal training.
CONSWould prefer to be able to run 2 separate corps in the software and not have combined corps data on reporting. (Former owner and new corps) The Procedure Code Report title needs to change as it is currently called a Production Report.
Reason for choosing ABELDent
Abel is user friendly, the management reporting is easily understood. The adj & w/o are deducted from the collections total which is important, so as not to have to manually adj. on DDS pay. Practice Summary Reports are perfect. Tracking providers individually and or in a "pool," is beneficial.

PROSAbledent CS allows me to work from wherever I have a internet connection. The ability to communicate with patients electronically is a total game changer for our office. I am able to work anytime I want. Charting is well laid out and works very well. Icons are well labeled and easy to find.

Amazing software
This product is user friendly , it is ideal to go for paper less . Software can store all relevant information of the patients. Easy to generate All kind of Reports, referrals to specialists , patients reminders, etc. The training given was amazing.Our trainer [SENSITIVE CONTENT] did a amazing job. She is very knowledgeable, encouraging and really helpful trainer. She is always there when ever we need support.
CONSAfter sending the claims to insurance , sometimes the amount is sitting under the patient balance not under the insurance. Sometimes sitting wrong amount under insurance or patient balance. That make me to do one or few transactions before entering the payment. As I heard from Abel dent support,They are fixing that problem in the new version .

I have used abeldent for my whole dental career so do not have other software to compare to.I recently had to speak with support and spoke with [sensitive content hidden]. He was wonderful, friendly and dealt with the problem quickly.
CONSFellow employees have used other dental software and they say abledent is the hardest to learn. I find there seems to be lots of "extra" clicking of "okay" "are you sure" before you can move to the next step.

Love It!
I find Abeldent to be very user friendly. Navigating around the software using one finger to locate different aspects of a patients chart is amazing. Their support team is absolutely top notch, always answering calls promptly, very helpful and courteous.
CONSNew Voice Activation would help with charting. Having more information about a patient at one time (but I believe this is in the Advantage version) Some of the text boxes only holds a certain number of characters therefore some info needs to be abbreviated and this can be time consuming when training new staff.

ABELDent Cloud Server version features a Patient Dashboard which compiles the most requested patient information for viewing on one screen. My relationship with the sales department and the service department has always been positive.
PROSI have been using AbelDent software in my dental practice since 1989. The software is very stable and reliable. I rarely if ever need help with the software . Over 30+ years, as the profession has changed, I have updated my Abel system every 10 years.
CONSI dislike the Abel Logo, only because I can't submit this survey without an answer in this field

In 1980 I started with a system from Sycom. Sycom left the the dental software business. I had no support. I was in trouble.

DENTAL IT SUPPORT Perspective
We really enjoy our relationship with Abelsoft and supporting Abeldent with our mutual client base.
PROSAbel is always introducing new features and releases updates on a regular basis. Often we do not see with with other Practice Management vendors. Support has always been excellent and your technicians are ready to assist if we ever need them.
CONSWe find the Rainbow technologies licensing is a bit sensitive and requires work arounds quite often to get it to work. I would love to see a licensing method or system that just works out of the box ....all the time if possible.

Fantastic Software and Support!
Overall, our experience has been phenomenal. Our instructor Marica contributed to a pleasant and smooth transition into this new system and we could not have felt more comfortable and supported by her helpful and pleasant personality. We are appreciative of her support and look forward to using all the tips she shared with us.
PROSWhat I love about this software the most is how intuitive it is. Many routine procedures can be done with ease and with very minimal training. This software also has a function for just about anything, so it can be customized to fit every dental office's needs no matter the size or specialty. The best part has to be the support, the staff at Abeldent are always ready and willing to help in a timely manner and are very knowledgeable and kind.
CONSAt this time we are still in the implementation stage of this software at our practice, which tends to be the toughest, but so far we have had only positive experiences.
