Lightspeed eCommerce is a cloud-based e-commerce solution suitable for small to midsize businesses. Key features include inventory management, web store design, marketing and business analytics.

Lightspeed’s inventory management functions include the ability to configure products with variations, import and export stock and update photos and stock levels. When products are returned, the solution is able to immediately re-add them back into stock counts and issue refunds.

The solution includes built-in search engine optimization tools,  which enable users to edit metadata, page headings, product tags, product descriptions and links. Users can use fully customizable website templates with options such as product zoom and preview in the design of their store. It also offers integration with various social media platforms.

Lightspeed is available for purchase on a monthly subscription basis.

ADDED - the support staff integrated payment processing and their Genius terminal.

Cons

No offline availability. If internet is down, you can't do anything.
No automatic notice of duplicate customer names.
No automatic account creation of customer names with credit card payments.
Unable to add single item on multiple item sale to special order.

We have been using eCom for about a month now and it has been a great experience. From the customer service to the software itself, it is pretty straightforward and just works. Whenever a question or issue arises, I don't hesitate to call customer support as I know that there will be an answer or solution. The nice thing I like about calling them is that if there is a few people ahead of me in the queue, I have the option of leaving my number and having one of them call me so I don't have to waste time waiting on the phone. When it comes to using eCom, it isn't difficult to learn at all and is pretty painless to use. I like that I can customize everything about the website's theme, right down to the code, to suit my needs. I also like that I can add notes to customers' orders as this lets me keep track of issues in a more secure place rather than pen and paper. Overall, I would definitely recommend eCom to anyone who wants a simple, painless, easy-to-use program to manage their website.

Cons

The only con I've ran into is that if there is a problem with a designed theme, a ticket has to be placed on it and we have to wait to hear back from the developer of that particular theme. Luckily, I have knowledge of web development and was able to fix it on my own as they allow for that.

Pros

eCom has a good array of features and potential features. Too bad none of them work properly. The interface looks good despite not being very functional.

Cons

As a software engineer, I've had to install, customize, create and use dozens of e-commerce platforms and within those, Lightspeed is by far the worst e-commerce platform I have ever used. It is full of major bugs and lacks features that even the most basic and cheap e-commerce solutions have. Reported (major) bugs take more than 6 months to even get looked at, and that is if they ever decide to fix them. There is no community forums, support chat was disabled because there were too many requests and the only place to suggest new features is never looked at or updated.

Every month, they keep promising updates and fix that never happen, or even worse, they tell you that bugs are fixed when they are not.

Lightspeed eCom is a very expensive scam, I recommend you stay away from it.
