You can't beat the price to performance ratio
My experience overall has been extremely positive, the price makes it the best tool out there for sending a lot of emails. Emails land straight in inbox as they should, and the tools to help manage bounces and complaints included are top notch. I'd recommend Amazon SES to anyone who sends a lot of emails.
PROSI like how easy it is to get started with SES as well as how cheap and reliable the service is.
CONSThe dashboard takes a bit of getting used to, but it's manageable
Reason for choosing Amazon SES
I chose Amazon SES over all competitors due to how many great reviews there were about it online, along with the cheap price.
Reasons for switching to Amazon SES
Emails didn't always hit inbox with mailchimp, and the price is overall more expensive.

Amazon Simple Email Service - does what it says on the tin
I have used SES in multiple projects and it has proven itself to be a reliable service time and time again. The pricing is amazing and whilst you don't get all the bells and whistles other more fully featured services offer it does what it says on the tin. I've used it for multiple different projects utilising both API and SMTP connectivity and both have been solid.
PROSThe pricing is amazing for such a great service. The API is well documented and SDKs are available for the most popular languages. If you are integrating with legacy systems where you have no API access and require an MTA to be configured that i also supported. There's a generous free tier available for smaller projects as well (so long as you are using either EC2 or Lambda to integrate).
CONSThere's really not much to dislike about SES. A dashboard like Sendgrid provides would be a nice additional option but it's aimed at doing one thing and doing it well.
Reason for choosing Amazon SES
Pricing and reliabiity were the main drivers. There is also superb SDK provision which allowed us to easily integrate multiple different projects in different languages.

By far the best feature within the AWS suite
We have been using SES for transactional as well as marketing(newsletter) email delivery. We love it.
PROSIt works, and is cheap. There is nothing of the sort to compete with SES for what it offers
CONSNeeds skillful setup as well as administration. Reports are not comprehensive and need SNS knowledge to be able to generate
Reason for choosing Amazon SES
Price and scalability
Reasons for switching to Amazon SES
it was becoming extremely expensive to send emails via Mailchimp, and Zimbra as wellas Bluehost mail delivery was leading to a number of mails landing up in spam. Elastic email, we never really were able to get comfortable with

Perfect for transactional emails
I used SES to send notifications from a web platform when certain events occurred. We had a 100% success rate and were never disappointed y the product.
PROS- It's easy to configure and implement - It makes sending transactional emails very easy - Costs can be easily forwarded to clients
CONSSES requires technical skills, so only developers can actually access it features, but that's reasonable given the features the product offers.
Reason for choosing Amazon SES
We're already using the Amazon Web Services platform and it's easier to keep everything in one place, also the quality is very high, as expected from Amazon.

Great value for monet
Amazon SES has helped us cut a lot of costs. As someone who moved from Mailchimp, I can appreciate this pay-as-you-use model. Although you might miss the fancy insights provided by standard email marketing services, integrating Amazon SES into a capable program bridges this gap.
PROSThe best thing about Amazon SES is the price. You only pay for what you use, and even with this, it's possible the cheapest solution for bulk emails. The delivery rate is good, and it integrates with most bulk email platforms and programs.
CONSAmazon SES is not exactly easy to set up unless you're a bit tech-savvy. Also, the support is a bit slow when responding to limitation issues. However, once you overcome these hurdles and get it running, the rest is just a piece of cake.
Reasons for switching to Amazon SES
Amazon SES is a lot cheaper.

Solid transactional email solution, great API
SES is definitely the place to start if you are in AWS and need to send transcational email. It works very well, email deliverability is good, and the cost is great.
PROSGreat API, well priced, and well integrated into the Amazon Web Services ecosystem. Deliverability is good, and dedicated IP pricing is very low.
CONSSupport is pretty weak, as with all of AWS. You need to have in-house expertiese to successfully use most AWS services, and SES is no exception. When deliverability is problematic the support team can help but it requires escalation and patience.

Great tool for sending emails at scale
I am very happy with Amazon SES. It has been a reliable and cost-effective solution for sending emails at scale. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of other email marketing platforms, it gets the job done and is a great choice for businesses looking for a simple solution for sending transactional or bulk emails.
PROSSetting up Amazon SES is straightforward and the interface is user-friendly. I've found that emails sent through SES have a high delivery rate and have not had any issues with emails going to spam. Affordable compared to other email sending services, especially when sending a large volume of emails.
CONSSES does not have a built-in template system, so you will need to design and code your own email templates.

A Cost-Effective Solution for High-Volume Email Sending
One of the primary advantages of Amazon SES is its low cost, making it an attractive option for businesses and individuals who need to send large volumes of emails without breaking the bank. The service offers flexible pricing plans based on the number of emails sent, allowing users to scale up or down as needed.
PROSAmazon SES uses various technologies and protocols to help ensure that emails are delivered to recipients' inboxes and not marked as spam. This can be particularly important for businesses that rely on email marketing campaigns to reach customers.
CONSthe complexity of setting up and configuring Amazon SES, particularly for those who are not experienced with AWS. This could result in a steep learning curve for users who are not familiar with AWS and its various services. Overall it is a good service.

Slightly steep learning curve but reliable email delivery
I'm very pleased with SES so far. The free tier is enough for many to get by with, and it's very inexpensive with use beyond that.
PROSOnce I got it setup, it has worked perfectly without any continual maintenance. Emails are delivered quickly and don't end up in spam boxes at the recipient end.
CONSIt's not entirely straightforward to configure and the instructions aren't very intuitive for beginners. You'll need to set it up a few times for a couple domains to get the hang of it.

The only right way to run databased on AWS
SES is vital to our cloud operations and won't be going anywhere as long as we're running databases.
PROSA managed environment for data is, in my opinion, a must. Turn-key log-based backups and recovery with all necessary features. A good number of database options.
CONSLacks direct access to the machine so this is limiting as to what can be set on each database. While most things are possible, there's a learning curve to accomplish some more advanced configuration.

I think Amazon provides the cheapest SMTP server, the cost per email is very low as compare to other servers. At the start, I was worried about the reputation of my account but if we follow the rules and use it according to their policy then nothing is better than Amazon SES.

Easy integration and robustness.
Amazon SES is easy to setup and use. It has Python and other libraries to integrate it to your project. Sending email in HTML or text is possible and MIME can be used as well. For MIME, it supports different email encodings as well, which is great if you are trying to write something non-latin in mail subject.

Amazon SES satisfies your email needs based Amazon's economy of scale
We are solving the need of simple, reliable bulk email that scales and delivers with confidence.
PROSAmazon SES is a relatively simple integration despite the need of better documentation, has an very developer-minded logic and allows you to share data to other Amazon AWS services for analytics, monitoring and others. It is the way to go when you want to have bulk email at a fraction of the costs incurred with other competitors. It is extremely reliable and has the Amazon infrastructure to support it. The web console is simple yet provides you with the essentials to monitor the account's health and performance.
CONSHaving migrated from Mailgun, I really felt the lack of proper development documentation when you are integrating for the first time. The current documentation is not well organized and lacks the developer friendlyness that you can find with competing products. However, this may have to do with a more general, bulk approach that Amazon focuses on. There are different versions of their APIs in the process of being migrated with the newer version being somewhat limited in features compared to the older one. My recommendation is that you get prepared to read a lot and test as you start to implement. I don't think you will be provided with bleeding edge email developments early but the basics will always be covered with Amazon SES.
Reason for choosing Amazon SES
Pricing, base features and reliability.
Reasons for switching to Amazon SES
We were looking for way cheaper but reliable email services.

Great relation price vs quality
Overall the experience has been just great. The service simply works, although it's a little complex the first time to setup but once we get used to it (as with anything else in life), it's a little bit of work that is worth it for the price we pay for.
PROSPrice per 1k emails is incredible. As of this writing, we are talking about $0.10 per 1k emails sent, which is really now.
CONSTheir support is getting worse. Very recently I had to wait a month until an account from one of our customers was finally approved and then a couple of months later, we had another customer that was rejected for no reason whatsoever and we had to escalate to have it into production.
Reasons for switching to Amazon SES
Their service started to decai and more than once we had blacklisted IPs associated to our account, which was a good account with clean emails.
