Klaviyo is a cloud-based email marketing solution for e-commerce businesses. Key features include integration with multiple platforms, audience segmentation and performance reporting.

Klaviyo allows users to send out targeted email campaigns based on metrics such as purchasing and viewing history and how customers have interacted with past emails. The solution offers integration with tools such as e-commerce platforms, payment processors and marketing tools that allows users to centralize data from a variety of sources.

Reporting dashboard allows users to measure performance based on metrics such as recently ordered items, refund requests, visitor activity and revenue generated by email marketing campaigns and advertising campaigns. Users can segment their customers based on their past purchases and send customized email campaigns.

Klaviyo is available as a monthly subscription with pricing that varies based on the number of contacts. Users have access to email support and a knowledge base of documents and guides.

Excellent capability but complicated to use

I also had to make a real fuss to get a human being to help, I had to insist on a team member calling me to guide me through the steps as I was having so much difficulty in getting my issue sorted!

Pros

Klaviyo carefully segments mailing list subscribers and allows you to market directly to people according to their behaviour

Cons

very complicated! unlike shopify or mialchimp there is no live chat and so you cannot quickly get the answer you need. You have to email them, wait for a response. If like me, you're not exactly a technophile, you will find it extremely difficult to navigate the support documents and fix your support issue. I also had

It is a good tool to get started in the development of email marketing campaigns.

Pros

What I like about Klaviyo is that it is easy to use we can create any type of newsletter from a basic design to a more complex one thanks to its intuitive tools. In fact we can export the html code of our design and use it wherever we want.

Cons

I think there are other similar systems that have better functionalities I think that they still need to improve some features and their technical support is not so good.

Easy to use! Great customer service. Very happy with our choice.

Pros

We love Klaviyo and have found it to be easy to use and has all the features and characteristics that we needed for less money than other similar providers.

Cons

Sometimes Klaviyo shuts down mid-stream or gets slow as it loads but it always saves our work so it's never a huge issue.

There is so much targetting and automation you can do from within Klaviyo. It's a great tool for segmenting list, setting up targetted campaigns.

Cons

It's really expensive as you amass a larger email base. It can be unwieldy with all the features and a little difficult to get the hang of.

Klaviyo is very user-friendly and provides great templates. We use this for all of our campaigns and it works seamlessly even with our expansive user list.

Cons

The file section is in a list form. I wish it could be organized into folders to find specific items used in previous campaigns.

It syncs with Shopify really well so you can create customized flows based on what a person has bought. We use it for abandoned cart emails, upsells, and welcome series email.s

Cons

Finding the analytics that you want can sometimes be tricky. It feels a little divided between their 'lists' and individual campaigns so sometimes you have to do some digging for the numbers you want.

I have increased my order total attributed to email marketing and plan to increase it more by my continued use.

Pros

I love the ease of use, especially in regards to their automation features. Using their automatic email flows, I have been able to substantially increase sales on our website. And now with their new visual UI, I can actually visualize when an email will be sent and who will receive it.

Cons

I would like to see more ability to customize certain aspects of the emails I send. I have a very custom website and would love to add some custom fields to my contact's details and use those in my emails.

Very easy to use, liked it!

Pros

Klaviyo is really simple to use. The interface takes some time to get used to but there's not much to it so you get the hang of it pretty quick. You can drag and drop images within the template so there's no coding required. This makes it simple for the small business that can't afford to hire a programmer.

Cons

As your company grows it becomes a little too basic. Other larger platforms offer many more features and a more professional/knowledgable staff to help with marketing strategy.

There are also times when the mobile preview does not render emails properly. For example, it will show two stacked images in the previewer but when you actually send yourself a test of the email the pieces are not stacked on mobile.

Other than that, there isn't too much that I dislike. It's just easy to grow out of.

It was good in the beginning but it is not a software that I would stick with long term

Pros

Klaviyo is great for the most basic newsletters. It is easy to use without a lot of bells and whistles so there is no confusion in creating a basic layout. It offers a few nice addons but I believe they come at a premium.

Cons

There seem to be a few significant issues with Klaviyo. One major issue I was having was with my sends going into the spam folder for no reason but only for Yahoo subscribers. I contacted customer service about this issue several times and nothing was ever resloved. I'm glad that Yahoo subscribers were just a small portion of my audience.

Increased my income/revenue drastically!

Pros

The integration is almost flawless. And where they may lack in an area they are very quick to help out and increase in areas you bring up. They are VERY focused on what the customer needs and wants. The Customer service is top notch and the help files are surprisingly helpful. They have clearly put a lot of effort into this aspect of the company. Great Job Guys!

Cons

Would love to see some of the same integrations that you see with other platforms brought across to the rest. Ex: Generating custom coupon codes like shopify.

Their level of triggered email sophistication is truly impressive. We made the switch from mailchimp entirely due to this feature.

Cons

Formatting was kind of a hassle. In a space where almost every provider has crisp, clean, easy to use design template features, it's a little frustrating to waste time struggling through a new more difficult design process.

Without a doubt the most advance email platform for Shopify. Unrivaled in the market - the automation is really excellent and deliverability so far has been great!

It often glitches and freezes, for example will freeze and time out when you try to login. The platform sometimes creates funky code

Klaviyo has one of the best automation flows set up for the price we pay. The wysiwyg editor and the source modifier work perfectly together - great stuff!

Cons

Not being able to link multiple shopify accounts with only one klaviyo account is a big minus - this might be a problem, as soon as we grow bigger and have to add new currencies.

Easy to automate our email campaigns, and very detailed breakdowns of campaign performance as well as contacts. We have been able to narrow down our subscriber list to the most loyal and our least loyal customers, as well as create campaigns to drive traffic back to our website based on analytics within Klaviyo.

Pros

Their basic templates are a no-frills way to make sure you're taking full advantage of your email lists. With automation as well as blast sending capabilities, plus outstanding customer service skills - seriously, I email our rep and get responses within minutes - it's a no brainer, especially if you're working with a smaller email list.

Cons

The ability to design and utilize HTML based templates is a bit shotty. The web-forms feature can be difficult to understand - different forms send to lists vs segments, flows.
