Amilia Review
Amilia has been a tremendous time saver! The vast majority of our registrations are now made online by the clients themselves. Couple of things to improve and functions that are not compatible with our use/needs, overall very satisfactory.
PROS- User-friendly both for the administrator and the clients. - Allows automatic RL24 Tax Receipts generation. - Constant Contact list intergrated. - Attendance lists and template lists made easy. - Group-making and friends-pairing made easy. -Mass editing of programs. - Live online chat support.
CONS- Custom post-dated payments on credit cards. - Modifications/updates to post-dated credit card payments. - No direct access to Constant Contact from participants, only from Account Owners. - After mass generation of RL24, modification and further RL24 generations done one by one. - Scheduling more or less effective. - Restrictive for non-Amilia online money solution partners. - No refunds straight onto credit cards from platform.

It's been wonderful. I'm huge on personal service and they have the best help.

Amilia
I do not find Amilia is a positive experience, and it was more difficult to use and I felt it slowed my productivity down. Some departments have kept using another registration software and we have suggested our entire company make the switch away from Amilia.
PROSAmilia does collect registration information, process payments, and allows you to create a variety of programs people can register for. It accomplishes the bare minimum requirements of a registration software.
CONSAmilia is not simple to use, not very intuitive for people to use on the front end or the backend. Even after using it for many months (after an Amilia led 4 part training session) it was still a struggle to use, nothing was simple and I always felt like it was my first time using it. It's really store based which is odd for a registration software.
Reasons for switching to SmartRec
I suspect cost was a factor, and Amilia promised to deliver a couple features our other software was lacking. Those who used that software didn't think those missing features were a big enough reason to make the switch.

Overall, I have been happy with using Amilia for my registration system. I really like the majority of the customer service people that have assisted me.
PROSI like how clean and professional the store looks. I also like the capability to offer installment payment plans, early bird discounts, and tiered pricing for my camps.
CONSSome of my logos don't fit correctly on my store. I've lost some money trying to merge a variety of discounts together that customer service was not able to find a fix for. I think the Dashboard could use some slight improvements.

Good software but not for my business
I was sold something that I was unable to use after being promised that it could be customized to fit my business. There is a contract involved and I ended up paying for 2 different platforms since Amilia was not something that I could work with.
PROSMany features with plenty of bells and whistles. Can be customized to an extent and would be a useful platform for many businesses.
CONSI was not able to use the software for my business. It showed families the amount a year of classes would cost and wouldn't allow for the payment options that they have been accustomed to since I opened. Setup was tedious and very complex.

It seem innovative and intuitive and that it could work for my business but that was far from the case.

Quick review
We are able to offer a very tailored service for our house league. The accounting reports have improved enormeously over the last 2-3 years.
PROSWhat we like the best with this software is to be able to mange our groups with different offers.
CONSThe ultimate fee to use online registration and payment on line is very expensive.

Amilia Review
We can now offer nearly all programs as online registration and payment. It is much easier to track our numbers and clients.
PROSIt's very easy to set up each session of classes for our gymnastics club. We can copy and paste the previous session and save even more time by just making a few minor adjustments.
CONSIt can be difficult to apply credits/refunds etc in a way that balances the account. The steps to do so can be confusing especially if you don't do it often.

Our provincial regulatory body switched and we were required to do so as well. Amilia is a much more user friendly program.

Amazing Registration Platform with an Outstanding Team!
Everything is all in one place. The system allows our program to keep things organized and works within our business framework. It makes things simple for us on the business end of things and clients on the consumer end of things.
PROSAmilia is a great platform with tons of features. There was a learning curve when adopting the platform, however the on-boarding and support team were super pleasant to work with (and still are). Suggestions that I have made have been implemented and team does actually value input from the clients to find ways to make the system better.
CONSWhile not an overall deterrent, it was difficult to manage payments in some cases as payment info was not saved. This however has been amended and now clients can choose to save their credit card info. It would be beneficial to have all payment info automatically saved, however I understand the stipulations and hold-backs on this (privacy etc). A few other items that I’ve had have been resolved and the system has been updated accordingly!

Great product, will be even better with a few upgrades!
A positive one. To further enhance our experience, it would be incredibly helpful to have the ability to add events via ticking, as well as a map view of our campsites and cabins, and a calendar view that shows facility availability. The addition of these features would greatly improve your product for our needs
PROSThe greatest advantage of SmartRec is the customer service staff's availability and willingness to assist with any issues or queries. From our first conversation with a SmartRec sales representative to our daily interactions with the support staff, these exchanges have been of top quality. If a staff member doesn't know the answer to a question, they promptly provide one.
CONSUnfortunately, the software currently doesn't offer a map view of our campsites, which would allow our guests to choose the perfect site for them based on its location in relation to amenities such as restrooms, showers, dump stations, office, etc.Moreover, it would be highly beneficial for campgrounds like ours to have a simple and user-friendly calendar that shows the available cabins and campsites. While the current facility calendar provides information about what is already booked, it's not the most efficient way for our front desk staff to convey information to walk-in guests about available sites and buildings.

If you like to talk with Customer Support....
...Then Amilia is for you! They are super nice, and very helpful in trying to find solutions. My problem was that there were just too many problems to be solved.... I encountered a lot of "wackiness", which is my general term for things not working as described. For example, I ran a report and got data from someone else' business records in a different language and from 2007... In the onboarding process, the sales guy was sooooooo nice. Promised me no problem to cancel if it didn't work out. They originally wanted and entire year's commitment but there was no way I would commit my new business to an unknown for an entire year.... so I signed up based on the promise of a way out. I was initially very excited... their support to get setup seemed very strong. But throughout the setup process, random bugs in the system simply resulted in unproductive time sucking loops and holes. Promised flexibility proved to be "oops - nope, can't really do that"... so I was never actually able to open up shop with the Amilia system. The first impressions are great ~ but Salesman was Not Nice when I had to break up with them. I was held to pay an entire month in advance because they were closed over the new year holiday and I was unable to contact anyone to make my cancelation by the end of month deadline. Their response when I tried to make my case implied that I should actually owe them more money for "all the time they spent training me" - which was really us all trying to fix the wackiness that occurred during my setup process. Just not worth it until they get it sorted out. Could be a really cute system for a simple setup. And their support team is really nice. ;)

Can you drill a hole with a screwdriver? Yes, you can. Maybe not the ideal tool to do it.!
I'm very satisfied with the service provided. The functionalities are great and easy to use. It is very easy to setup and you will be up&running in a very short period of time. Then you can continue adding more features.
PROSAmilia is an extremely powerful solution. It has the huge benefit that can be used in a very basic mode, or you can implement as much as business processes you have. A huge benefit that they offer, it is the customer support. The customer support team is extremely patient, professional, and always ready to help.
CONSThe mobile App it has a lot of areas for improvement. The possibility to have Amilia embedded in your business website should be carefully reviewed. There are minor UX scenarios where the system is not as friendly as you may expect.

Mobile site does not work for registration
Very polite, but when we communicate problems with customers registering they just keep saying to tell customers to use Chrome on a desktop. Are we supposed to tell people they can only use desktop and chrome to register in our advertisements? It's embarassing and I am constantly apologizing to customers.
PROSIt is easy to use on the admin end. I like that it tracks online traffic to your site and that it works with Constant Contact.
CONSOur customers can't use their phones to register and sometimes the registration site does not appear on our website for desktops either.

Amilia Software review 2019
The CS team is AMAZING. I have never felt so supported with a product. The chat is very easy and quick and always helpful, if I need to call I can and there is also a forum of other users where if I have the time I will go and look for answers. They have a huge knowledge base that I can refer to as well.
PROSI like how clean the pages look and how much data you can get. Anything I need is there and I can also do it from my mobile phone. It has so many capabilities. I love that I have all the control on this system to change anything I want, when I need to. Registering for a client is very easy. Refunds are very easy.
CONSIt has so many capabilities, I am still trying to learn it all. Sometimes I wish for a little more basic but I think once I get the hang of it, it will be easier. I am the only user

Good customer service and basic features are easy to use.
Easy to manage all of our customers' information and keep track of payments, balances, and methods of payment. Also easy for customers to use.
CONSMany functions that we use frequently are difficult to use and over complicate the process. For example building programs specific to our use does not have functions that would make it easy for us to do (set visible to client day/time, add remove access code automatically). Also switching students from one class to another especially from one program to another(because we were forced to make multiple programs with way software is set up) can be complicated and convolute the customers billing tab. The inability to change tax rates (native status card holders) makes billing for those customers difficult as well as ensuring I calculate our HST information when doing the books.

Amilia has made our life easier
The support team is amazing and has helped us through many questions as we were setting up the program. They take our suggestions seriously and follow up promptly and professionally. The program is easy to use for us in administration and for our client base.
PROSOur members are able to access the program and make changes to their schedule easily.
CONSI would like the calendar to show drop ins as well as sessions.

Yes, im online!
Easy enrolment. Clients register online and fill out all the forms needed before their first class. It is easy to track, to adjust the group classes and to send invoice to clients. Customer service by chat is really effective when you have a tiny question about a feature.
CONSI had a lot of issues getting my RL-24 done. It took the equivalent of 1hr/day to try to resolve the problems and it was ongoing for a month.

Because it was in french and based in Montreal. I also had to use it in a previous job. Also, it was easy to use. I trusted this company because it had already quite a few (good) clients.

SmartRec is a great way to manage your Recreation Department
We have had very good experience with Smart Rec which we have had for one year now.

OGC Feedback
Overall, Amilia is a fantastic system in terms of it being very user friendly for members and clients. Our online registration numbers have gone up, and there are less people calling in to register now - which we believe is all because Amilia is user friendly and simple to navigate. It has definitely been a positive change for OGC overall. However, I have been disappointed in the lack of follow up from the Amilia chat (please refer to my explanation in the survey comments) . I also was disappointed at the beginning of our journey with Amilia as all of us here felt as though we were thrown into the deep end. I had about a 3 hour training session with Amilia to show me how to add clients, create activities, and take payments. Little did I know, this was literally the bare minimum of what I would need to know to serve the OGC community (over 2,000 members). I would have appreciated a more extensive training with myself and my team to get us better equipped for the switch. I have several enhancement requests that I have submitted and seen nothing change, or that I would like to speak to you directly about that I believe would not only benefit the OGC, but every other company that works with you. These requests are mainly in order to save time administratively, or to ease some complaints we have received from customers. I will create a document with such requests and submit it to Betty by e-mail. Thanks for your time,

Free Trial has no functionality
Free trial does not allow me to set anything up, such as classes, programs... I was particularly interested in how attendance worked.
CONSWasted 15 minutes of my time. There is a feature list on their website that shows what the free trial is supposed to be able to do.

Keep in mind that truly testing a software solution like ours takes more than 15 minutes.
