# ADP Workforce Now User Reviews

## Reviews summary

- Overall rating: 4.4/5
- Total reviews: 7,263

### Secondary ratings

- Ease of use: 4.3/5
- Customer support: 4.2/5
- Value for money: 4.2/5
- Functionality: 4.3/5

### Rating distribution

- 5 stars: 4,230 reviews (58%)
- 4 stars: 2,171 reviews (30%)
- 3 stars: 660 reviews (9%)
- 2 stars: 138 reviews (2%)
- 1 star: 64 reviews (1%)

### Most mentioned pros

- ADP excels at automated payroll, tax compliance, benefits administration, employee self-service, and centralized HR and time tracking in one platform.
- Its biggest strength is its seamless integration with ADP’s core payroll platform. Because hours flow directly into payroll, you eliminate the tedious task of manually exporting data and drastically reduce human data-entry errors.
- Good and useful platform for checking a couple work related things such as pay compensation, hours and availability, paychecks, tax documents, and legal information.

### Most mentioned cons

- Setting up custom approval workflows or unique scheduling rules can also be surprisingly rigid, often requiring a call to ADP support rather than a quick fix in your settings. because it is an enterprise-grade solution, the pricing is usually higher than dedicated time-tracking tools, making it a heavy investment if you aren't fully utilizing the rest of the ADP ecosystem.
- The system often feels clunky when trying to filter specific team data, and the standard templates don't always capture the unique metrics we need to track performance and attendance effectively without extra steps.
- The system itself can feel really clunky and rigid—simple tasks take way too many clicks, and trying to pull a custom report is a total nightmare if you don't know exactly what you're doing. Plus, once you're done setting it up, the customer support is a maze; you usually end up dealing with a general call center instead of a dedicated person who actually knows your account.

Overall, ADP Workforce Now is a comprehensive, user-friendly platform that keeps all of my employment information conveniently centralized in one place. The ability to easily access payroll, tax documents, time-off balances, and other HR-related information enables self-service and reduces the need to contact HR, helping to minimize administrative bottlenecks and improve efficiency. One area for improvement is the performance management functionality, which could be enhanced to match the intuitive design and ease of use found throughout the rest of the platform.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

What I like most about ADP Workforce Now is its convenience and ease of use. It provides a single, centralized location for all my employment information, including payroll, tax documents, paid time off, and organizational details. Having everything I need in one place makes it simple to access important information quickly and efficiently.

#### Cons

What I like least is the performance management feature. It is not as user friendly or efficient as working with the other tools in ADP. It requires a fair number of clicks and time to manage and doesn't visually show performance as well as other available performance management platforms.

#### Reasons for switching to ADP Workforce Now

The company wanted an all-in-one management platform.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 3/5

#### Pros

Adp works with software such as quikbooks so that employees can upload their W2’s directly. It is a great time saver and helps prevent errors.

#### Cons

Adp is not easy to get into if a password if forgotten. It usually relies on a second party to help with a password reset. My worst nightmare from years of experience with ADP is getting locked out. Another issue is if you used it with another company it will sometimes tie that company in.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5

#### Pros

The support and partnership regarding payroll and tax has been a huge value add. We have access to several teams ready and willing to work for us to help find solutions, for which we are very grateful. Also, custom reporting abilities in ADP are relatively robust and helpful. We also have dedicated access to a representative at ADP. He is more than tech support, he is invested in our problems and solutions, and makes time to help things go right for us.

#### Cons

ADP is large and slow to adapt. There are aspects we could or should have access to, but dont quite yet because the speed at which ADP moves and decides is that of a large company, which we understand. There is some rigidity in features and business responses that are sometimes necessitating workarounds.

#### Reasons for choosing ADP Workforce Now

We felt more confident in a larger industry solution, and we were eager to work with the support ADP provides.

For an HR or payroll administrator, it feels like driving a massive, armored tank: you know it is secure, it is highly compliant, and it will absolutely get you across the finish line on payroll day. However, it handles like a heavy vehicle—the steering is stiff, the dashboard is cluttered, and making a sharp turn (like running a non-standard report or fixing an implementation mistake) requires a lot of muscle.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

ADP Workforce Now is a highly reliable, all-in-one HR platform that does a fantastic job of streamlining everything from payroll and tax filing to benefits administration and time tracking. Because it houses employee data in one centralized hub, it eliminates the headache of jumping between different systems and drastically reduces manual data entry. The platform is also widely praised for its robust, automated compliance features, which take the stress out of navigating complex labor laws, while its intuitive self-service portal empowers employees to easily manage their own tax forms, pay stubs, and time cards.

#### Cons

Honestly, ADP Workforce Now is great for having everything in one place, but it definitely has its frustrating sides. The system itself can feel really clunky and rigid—simple tasks take way too many clicks, and trying to pull a custom report is a total nightmare if you don't know exactly what you're doing. Plus, once you're done setting it up, the customer support is a maze; you usually end up dealing with a general call center instead of a dedicated person who actually knows your account. On top of that, their billing is incredibly confusing with random extra fees that constantly catch you off guard..

As a user managing HR and payroll for our team, my overall experience with ADP Workforce Now has been a mix of professional reliability and technical frustration. On one hand, it is an absolute workhorse that I trust to handle our complex tax filings and multi-state compliance without breaking a sweat. Having a single database for everything—from onboarding to open enrollment—has significantly reduced the "paper trail" in our office and given us much better data security.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

What I love most is the peace of mind that comes with their compliance and tax filing engine. As a mid-sized company, we don't have time to manually track changing state laws or tax codes, and ADP handles that liability seamlessly. Having a single source of truth where payroll, benefits, and time tracking actually talk to each other has cut our manual data entry in half. Plus, the mobile app is a huge win for our team—our employees actually use it to check their paystubs and request PTO without having to bug the HR office.

#### Cons

The biggest headache is the lack of consistent customer support; once you're past the implementation phase, getting a straight answer from a human can feel like a maze of tickets and general mailboxes. The system is also not very intuitive—simple tasks often require clicking through four different menus, and the custom report builder feels like it hasn't been updated since 2005. For a premium-priced platform, I expected a more modern user interface and a dedicated account manager who actually knows our business history

On the positive side, it is an absolute powerhouse for multi-state payroll, tax filing, and strict compliance management, serving as a rock-solid single source of truth that keeps HR departments legally secure. The employee mobile app is also highly functional, making routine tasks like viewing paystubs and requesting time off incredibly seamless for the average worker. However, the system administrator experience can be deeply frustrating; the legacy interface is notoriously rigid, generating custom reports is an overly complex chore, and finding consistent, prompt customer support often feels like navigating an endless maze of tickets. It is a premium, dependable system built to handle the heavy lifting for mid-sized organizations, provided you are willing to tolerate its administrative clunkiness.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Using ADP for time tracking has a few major advantages, especially when it comes to efficiency and compliance. Its biggest strength is its seamless integration with ADP’s core payroll platform. Because hours flow directly into payroll, you eliminate the tedious task of manually exporting data and drastically reduce human data-entry errors. Additionally, the system automatically applies local, state, and federal labor laws to handle complex calculations like overtime and required break periods, taking a lot of compliance pressure off your HR team. It also offers great flexibility for employees, who can clock in through mobile apps with geofencing, web browsers, or physical biometric kiosks.

#### Cons

both the desktop and mobile interfaces can feel sluggish, dated, and unintuitive compared to modern standalone software. Setting up custom approval workflows or unique scheduling rules can also be surprisingly rigid, often requiring a call to ADP support rather than a quick fix in your settings. because it is an enterprise-grade solution, the pricing is usually higher than dedicated time-tracking tools, making it a heavy investment if you aren't fully utilizing the rest of the ADP ecosystem.

#### Cons

ADP is hard to use. The app is almost always down and they seem to have multiple versions of their app, so you never know what website or app you're supposed to be using. If you're not careful you'll login in to the wrong one and won't be able to find what you're looking for. Logging in and accessing the information is always hard.

Great value and functionality. ADP has a very reliable and secure website as well. There are a few things I would improve, but it's the best option for us on the market.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

ADP is user friendly and has a lot of cross-functionality with our benefits administration. We have no plans to switch at the moment and are happy with service and our rep. Our employees can access all of their statements as PDF's and also do open enrollment.

#### Cons

Employees have to do a few extra steps to request time off. The pop-out menu is a little clumsy for requesting PTO.

I worked with WFN for almost ten years. It is a great product for the right organization. ADP is a leader in the space for a reason, but its very easy to get lost in the mechanics of it all.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

ADP Workforce Now is a great product for the right organization. The technology is consistently being expanded, they have a highly knowledgeable team and can be very easy to use. Payroll overall is very easy, time tracking typically can be setup efficient. I find ADP employees as a whole to be caring and well educated in their field.

#### Cons

What I liked least is that the technology can be overwhelming and if you are not a tech minded person it can be very clunky at points. Reporting used to be an absolute bear and while efforts were commendable it could take forever to get what you need setup custom. It can be very expensive and communication could be slow.
