ADP Workforce Now is a human capital management solution for companies with more than 50 employees. The core capabilities of the solution include human resources management, payroll, benefits, talent management, compliance, time and labor management and analytics and benchmarking.

The fully integrated suite is built on a single database, which automates data synchronization across different components and helps users to minimize manual administrative tasks. The platform also integrates with other HR and business applications via the ADP Marketplace and APIs.

With ADP Workforce Now, clients also receive self-service tools for employees and manager, such as the widely used ADP Mobile app, to access paychecks, W-2s, timecards, benefit information and more; proactive compliance and regulatory alerts; external perspectives on making HR and business decisions with the help of ADP Benchmarking, the ADP Research Institute and ADP Professional Services; and access to a client community with more than 50,000 peers.

The navigation is user-friendly. The reporting is okay too. The layout of the pages are nice and user-friendly.

Cons

The payroll feature can be improved to show live checks. The reporting feature can be improved so that you can drag fields and preview how the reports will generate. The most tedious is that the different HR, Benefits, Payroll feature are all on different platforms so duplicate work is required.

Cons

Not many options for reporting. ADP does not give customers a designated representative. Upgrades are too frequent.

Cons

There are restrictions on how close you need to be to clock in and out. Which is under stable but it would be nice to be able to clock out on the way home if I forgot.

Cons

They need to work on improving the system after upgrades.
Another potential negative is that you don't have a dedicated support agent to help with any issues that arise. While the sales associate we spoke to said we could always contact her with any questions, it would be nice to have a dedicated support agent be our first point of contact.

- Nice custom reporting
- Decent cost for services (although there is a lot of push for add-ons/upgrades)

Cons

- Customer Service not great: Too small to have a dedicated representative to help on a regular basis. (I hear that has since changed, however!)
- Slow tax department: Tax questions/changes/corrections took weeks to months!
- Didn't work for an all-in-one solution that our company was looking for (recruiting/onboarding, document storage, etc.)
- They could use improvement on Help/Tutorials

Pricing is pretty comparable, but charged per active employee, per payroll cycle, per company code. If you are processing on a weekly basis it can be much more expensive. Assessing your payroll cycles and the breakdown of your company into different company codes prior to go live is imperative to long term cost reduction. Be sure to check invoices EVERY TIME as random charges and fees have a way of popping up where they don't belong.

Pros

ADP is very simple to use for small to medium businesses as long as you don't have intricate detailed payroll processes. Following standard payroll processes is simple and the reporting is customizable enough to get you the information you need. The customer service is excellent now that they have assigned a specific rep to each client. We have a go to person who helps with all of our needs and understands our processes. Tax services are a great plus.

Cons

ADP is an HRIS system that tries to do everything but is not best in class for any of it. If you want everything in one system it can do it for you, but it won't necessarily do everything the way you want it to do. It is very limited in customization especially in recruiting, document storage and compensation.

Ease of use, I love the reporting. It helps to track all of our employees both with their timesheets but their PTO and other time off. We use this platform to allocate our hours and bill to the correct client. This assists with several integrations that were very easy to set up.

Cons

I've had some trouble with Java needing to continually be updated to use certain features. Initially the widgets and navigating them are confusing. It's not overly intuitive for those who are not tech savvy.

I love that when I need help I could call the 100 number and customer service is always quick to help me.

Cons

When we first started with adp we bought the employee evaluations and onboarding features. I was not impressed with both of these features at all. I am also not very impressed with the reports part, I find it difficult to understand how to print a report. I always have to call and ask for help with report running.

I implemented ADP in January of this year. They have invested a-lot into the payroll piece of their program, which has been great to use. They have a-lot of training available online to help with the transition.

Cons

Their customer service is not great. I wait on hold on a regular basis for 30 mins or more to get a hold of anyone.

Tracking accrued and taken time off as well as viewing pay stubs!

The aspect I like most about this software is that it's so easy to track pay stubs and see your accrued and taken time off of work so you know if you can ask off for a vacation!

Cons

I think the hours work/hours taken page is hard to understand. The hours did not make sense to me or anyone else that I work with, we had to ask HR to come and explain what each category meant.

The ADP family of products is great, knowing that you are working with a company who will support you no matter what you run into. The peace of mind we get working with them is second to none. This program is very easy to use and to train new agents or administrators on depending on how you have it configured and what you intend to do with it. We have used this for quite some time now and we are thrilled with the product.

Cons

The cost is one of the only issues we aren't very fond of but when it comes to the product, it is easy enough to use and train new people on. It can be a little slow at times and lag but I'm sure that is a combination of our computers, different processes going at the same time, and the program itself. Overall we are happy with this product and don't have too many complaints.

Overall, this system has improved the efficiency of our processes. Specifically, we were able to setup carrier connections with various benefit providers so we spend less time doing data-entry manually. Their report customization is not simple, but the end result is always what we need.

Pros

This system is easier to use than our previous HRIS system. The interface is pretty straightforward and well organized. We also use this as our intranet so we are able to house forms, our Handbook, and other resources for employees to access in one convenience location. Also, there is a self-service feature that allows our staff to submit changes to their personal information that goes through an approval process. This has been great because it minimizes the use of paper forms.

Cons

Some of the reporting features are not too user-friendly, but that is getting better. Also, their customer service is not the best. They switched their model and gave us a dedicated rep. That person was very hard to get a hold of and often not too knowledgeable on the topic for which we needed help with.

The greatest part of this software is in the APD mobile app itself. This app allows employees to access their paystubs, timecard, as well as tax information.

Cons

The system can sometimes have challenges after it runs an upgrade. I have received some error messages stating that I have multiple windows of ADP open, although there was only one.

It tracks payroll. That's honestly it. Setup is a pain, using it leave much to be desired and administration is somewhat difficult.

Cons

As I mentioned, even the hosted version isn't without it's issues. I think the payroll industry as a whole has a lot of catching up to do as I've tried alternative companies and have had similar results. I understand that payroll isn't as sexy as other verticals, but the interface is ugly, buttons are not where you would expect and oh yeah... it uses Java. So, that leads to a whole set of other issues.

Cons

Needs redesign. Not a great UX/visual design for the 21st century, I would work on improving it so it doesn't feel like from 1980s.

I really like this product because it's very easy to use to sign in and out each day, and allows me to see the history of my timecards and payroll.

Cons

I don't like that I have to change my password so often and that the fingerprint feature seems to glitch out every now and then

Pros

the Mobile App is a lifesaver! I work at multi-sites and being on-the-go can be a drag if you have to clock in with no computer close by.

Timecard and time off features always come in handy on the mobile app too.

Cons

You need internet connection, and sometimes logging in takes a while if connection is slow.
They make you change your password every once in a while, for security purposes, so that can be a drag when you keep forgetting your password.

My favorite thing about ADP is that it links the information to you from previous jobs that you have had and stores it for years. It is really nice if you switch jobs in the middle of the year or anything and this resource is still available for you. Another pro is that you can change the layout so that it puts X's where the numbers should be so that you can have your privacy. It also organizes the information for you and sorts all of the different components of your pay including various taxes.

Cons

One con is that is very hard to retrieve your account information if you forget any passwords or other sign on material. Their app also has everything too small and it isn't laid out as nicely as it is on their main website.

Payroll ease of use, PTO tracking, general place for all company and benefit info. Use of less paper. In this mobile age, Using the mobile version of ADP Workforce Now makes entering AND approving time easy.

Pros

We upgraded, so it's now nice to have only one database to manage and all of my information in one place. The Self-Service portal for our employees has been wonderful. The system is very user friendly and allows employees to have access to their own information. The new payroll system with the updated ADP Workforce Now has streamlined our weekly payroll process. Instead of a 4 hour payroll process each Monday, we can complete our weekly payroll in about an hour. LEARNING BYTES ARE THE BEST FOR TRAINING!!!!!! It is a user friendly system that makes it easy for employees to access, even those who are not computer savvy. For the most part, the reporting function is okay, but could be better.

Cons

That the reports don't always update when being run on a different day. A calendar of PTO. Reporting can be a challenge if details are needed - if you want more specialized reporting you will have to spend a lot of time creating the report you need.

I really like how you can view your full pay stub and see the allocation of where all your money is going. It shows you what your take home pay is, taxes, contribution, etc. It's also fairly easy to navigate.

Cons

I'll get frequent errors trying to download certain forms which is frustrating. Also, the UI needs to be cleaned up, while it's easy to navigate it looks dated.

Pros

The best part of this software is the ability to quickly access your own and other employees payroll Data. W2 will quickly self upload to other softwares like TurboTax.

Cons

In my experience we did not have the access to change An I9 without the admin approval. It was not linked to E-Verify, so employment verification had to be done manually through the government website
