- 3 stars: 258 reviews (8%)

### Most mentioned pros

- Centralized Tax Forms: Employees find it very helpful to have all their electronic tax forms (W-2s, 1095-Cs) in the same place they check their weekly pay
- The tax management features are simply amazing and automatically compute and submit our payroll taxes in numerous states to remote employees.
- Performance and surveys work well and employees appreciate the ability to login and read them over time.

### Most mentioned cons

- The onboarding process was inadequate, and the system was not set up correctly from the start. Once contracts are signed, support drops off significantly, leaving you to troubleshoot complex payroll and HR issues on your own.
- I do not like to the process for submitting cases, when the team respond via SalesForce I never receive the communication.
- Paycor may have occasional software bugs, limited customization, and additional setup can take longer than expected.

My experience with Paycor has been mixed. The payroll functions are useful and generally meet basic needs, but the limited features can make the platform feel less flexible than expected. It works well for straightforward payroll tasks, but there is room for improvement.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 2/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

The payroll features are the strongest part of Paycor. It makes it easier to manage payroll tasks and keep important information in one place.

#### Cons

The platform feels limited in some areas, and I would like to see more features and customization options.

### Paycor is a great mid range service

We are used to them. They are much better than paycom, but their implementation was terrible. Sometimes we have issues linking ourside systems that we were guaranteed would work, but the system itself is good for the price.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I appreciate customer support. It is fairly easy to reach someone on the phone but most importantly, getting customer service through the "help support" chat option is lightning fast and they help right away. Employees seem to like the ease of use with the leave management system and their own personal managegment portal. Payroll is fairly easy to run with paycor and there is plenty of support if you have questions.

#### Cons

The implementation process was the worst I have ever encountered. We still have things that don't work, but... the parts that work, work.

#### Reasons for choosing Paycor

It was a cheaper product. We thought we had a capable implementation team and plan also.

#### Reasons for switching to Paycor

They were terrible and wanted to nickle and dime us over everything. I think we just had bad representation at the time.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Overall Paycor does what we need it to do. Managing employee information and position changes, processes payroll, maintains history, allows us to customize and run reports along with other things.

#### Cons

Currently there are functions that were once automatic that now need to be completed manually such as changing an employees punch profile and selection of the Worker Comp code. We've also lost the impersonation feature that allows us to see what another employee see in their profile.

#### Reasons for choosing Paycor

Price and uncertainty of whether it would truly solve of challenges

#### Reasons for switching to Paycor

We realized Paycor was better when it came to the needs of our organization

Overall it has been a fine experience. I think there are challenges and frustrations with most HRIS platforms, so it can be a give and take. Price, value, customer service, modules, payroll - everything plays a part.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 4/5

#### Pros

Custom reporting is helpful to build reports and pull analytics needed. I like that the system is all in one - Applicant Tracking, Onboarding, Compensation, Payroll, Performance Management, Benefit Advisor, LMS, etc.

#### Cons

The system is not very user friendly and could be improved from a technology standpoint. Implementation was also a negative experience. Once everything was fully implemented, it got better - but be prepared for them to sell you on a quality experience and then completely drop the ball on implementation.

#### Reasons for switching to Paycor

Poor customer service from Paylocity caused the switch.

### Disappointing Experience with Paycor

My overall experience with Paycor has been very negative. The system is clunky, unintuitive, and not user-friendly, requiring significant workarounds for even basic HR functions. Customer support has been one of the worst aspects—delayed responses, limited expertise, and little accountability when issues arise. Reporting is especially poor, with limited customization, outdated formats, and a lack of real-time insights, making it difficult to extract meaningful data without heavy manual effort. Overall, the platform fell far short of what’s needed to support a growing and dynamic organization.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 1/5
- Value for money: 1/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 1/5

#### Pros

I can't really think of anything. I guess the payroll is pretty easy to process.

#### Cons

Terrible customer service, terrible implementation process, system is not as robust as they make it seem. Onboarding is the worst.

#### Reasons for choosing Paycor

Because it ties to our ERP system Epicor

#### Reasons for switching to Paycor

I made the switch from Heartland to Paycor because, on paper, it looked like a more robust and scalable solution. We were looking to consolidate systems, streamline performance management, and improve the overall employee experience. Paycor promised more customization, stronger reporting, and an all-in-one platform that could grow with us. Unfortunately, the reality didn’t match the sales pitch. The system is clunky and unintuitive, and the reporting capabilities are awful—limited, outdated, and difficult to work with. Customer support has been consistently unhelpful and slow to respond. Overall, the platform created more work than it solved, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The worst customer service of any software I've ever used. I really can't stress how bad it is. From call centers where people can't hear you and you can't hear them, to a sales rep named [sensitive content hidden] who refused to return calls and emails, basic issues takes weeks to resolve.

Paycor is a decent HRIS system, but has a lot of flaws that you have to deal with. I have been using it for 2 years, and if I could go back and choose a different system, I would. In fact, we are already looking at replacing Paycor in a year or two.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 2/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 2/5

#### Pros

What I like about Paycor the most is the payroll processing piece. The grid is easy to work in, and the pre-post payroll reports are excellent.

#### Cons

The customer service is terrible. You have 3 options for support; call in, create a ticket, or chat online. All three are terrible. The reps usually don't understand the issue and just want to close the ticket as quickly as possible. If they send you a follow-up question, you have less than 24 hours to respond before they close the ticket with no resolution.

#### Reasons for choosing Paycor

Pricing was the only reason, and I wish we would have gone with Paylocity.

#### Reasons for switching to Paycor

Paycom was too expensive and their customer service was depleting.

### Worst System Ever

Overall, my experience with Paycor has been extremely negative. What was marketed as a comprehensive, supportive payroll and HR solution has instead been a constant source of stress and inefficiency. Critical payroll issues take far too long to resolve, support is difficult to reach and often unhelpful, and there is little accountability once contracts are signed. Rather than streamlining HR and payroll processes, Paycor has required excessive time and effort to manage issues that should be simple. I would not choose this platform again.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 1/5
- Value for money: 1/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 1/5

#### Pros

Mostly easy to navigate. It's difficult to find positive things as this software has been nothing but a nightmare.

#### Cons

I’ve had an extremely disappointing experience with Paycor. Urgent payroll issues routinely take weeks to resolve, which is unacceptable when employees’ pay is on the line. Customer service is consistently poor, with long wait times just to speak to someone, and there are no dedicated account representatives to provide continuity or accountability. The onboarding process was inadequate, and the system was not set up correctly from the start. Once contracts are signed, support drops off significantly, leaving you to troubleshoot complex payroll and HR issues on your own. The platform is also not as robust as advertised. We were repeatedly told certain functions were possible, only to find out later that the system cannot actually support them. What is most frustrating is that when contacting support, it often feels like I understand the system better than the representatives assisting me. Any request, even basic ones, requires hours of follow ups, explanations, and escalations, and many issues still remain unresolved. If you choose Paycor, be prepared to spend at least five hours trying to fix problems that should be straightforward, with no guarantee they will be resolved. I would not recommend Paycor to any organization that values reliability, responsiveness, or accurate payroll processing.

#### Reasons for switching to Paycor

We needed an HRIS and QB did not have that.

Experience is always a long wait over the phone for assistance. You will be on hold for fifteen minutes then get discontinued.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 1/5
- Value for money: 2/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 2/5

#### Pros

There is not much that I can say that is positive. No one has time to have to continually call and ask for assistance.

#### Cons

The customer service is horrible. I am about ready to look for a different company to work with. A lot of the employees do not know their job so they cannot help.

Not good at all. After we made the move to another HRIS, it was weeks and they reached out and said they noticed we had not processed payroll. We process payroll weekly. When trying to get the documents from our employee files, that was a process that could not be understood.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 2/5
- Value for money: 1/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 2/5

#### Pros

The customer service was less than good. The payroll portion was always an issue. It was not user-friendly.

#### Cons

Everything. There was nothing about the product or service that was good. From onboarding to HR & Payroll nothing wsa good.
