Good software for our small practice

The software is very user friendly and easy to use. We are able to customize reports and auto run them on a schedule basis. We have just started using an employee model vs contractor model and so far this is meeting our needs.

Cons

I can't say customer service is the best. It takes them a long time to return emails. Help on the phone seems to take a long time.

The system has lots of features, and lots of great possible capabilities if you are able to get they system setup.

Cons

Terrible customer support, couldn't get payroll calculated correctly, wasn't capable of handling basic setup for a healthcare facility, tax documents filed incorrectly, staff doesn't understand basics of accounting or payroll. I actively tell people not to use this system.

Login has never worked, so I have never been able to see a paystub. Password reset does not work: while saving my new password, the system crashes, says "this site can not be reached." When when I try again I get "unable to change your password at this time." I am computer savvy and following their "forgot password" instructions to the letter. Then if you call paycor directly, you are transferred to a recording that says to contact your employer.

Better, easier, and same price as my previous software

I've implemented six different payroll systems in the course of my career and this has been the most comprehensive and easiest one I've ever done. And the best part is that their staff are always helpful, NICE, and never make you feel like an idiot. I am leaving my previous payroll vendor for that exact reason, tired of being treated with rudeness or not returning emails/phone calls, or making me feel stupid for asking a question, like I am bothering them.

Pros

More features, great implementation, getting help and job aids are quick and easy. The job aids and short videos are great for me to help my managers who are scattered in different locations.

Cons

Sometimes things aren't necessarily where I would put them and I have to hunt them down. I did have a couple of things setup incorrectly but we were able to fix them with little difficulty.

I am not happy with the customer service or the integration of one remedial change that I requested by the new year. The change has still not been made and I continuously ask over and over again. No one will call me back - email is not an efficient way to always conduct business when your client has asked you to talk to them.

Paycor seems to be growing faster than it can provide properly trained service people who know the system. I do hope they are able to get a hold of this and get back to providing a more positive client experience.

Pros

There was some user friendly parts to the system. They seem to be growing as a company and I used them for 4 years in the past.

Cons

The product was not able to be utilized due to the poor implementation. When trying to correct many of the issues the service teams were limited on knowledge.

This system is very plug and play. Once you have a staff member input to the system the software takes it from there. I got great feedback from users of this system as well. We use it company wide and have had no known issues or problems.

Cons

This is being picky but I'm not a big fan of the yellow/orange combo and we have no option to brand the software to our organization.

Price effective solution overall. Have heard (but not personally experienced) that their service recently has taken a dip.

Pros

When I used Paycor this part of the solution was pretty easy to use and navigate. You are able to create different scales for how to measure success and task the proper people to give feedback for employees.

Cons

Sometimes it was repetitive to add competencies but from what I understand this has been updated recently.

It would be nice if the modules were better integrated. Also, occasionally names of long-terminated employees show up on current date reports. For example on "assign performance reviews" list you get every employee ever on payroll, not just current employees. I don't need to evaluate someone who is terminated so it would be nice if there name was left off.

Pros

If there is a problem customer support is available for help. They payroll processing is quick and accurate.

Cons

We have several of their modules. There is a different contact for each - Payroll, Time, HR, ACA, Open Enrollment. And within each of these there is turnover so you may have several different contacts in an area in a year. It is hard to keep track of "who's on first."

Intuitive and Easy to Use Software

We have an extremely complicated payroll system and Paycor has reduced our payroll processing time from two to three days to less then a single day. The system is doing much more then we initially hoped and so far very happy with going with Paycor.

Pros

Implementation was made easy and went smoothly, like the look and feel of the software, customer service is outstanding whenever there are issues, like how things flow in the system from HR to payroll seamlessly.

Cons

This system did cost the most of the other solutions we looked at but we felt the value was worth the increase in cost. They do have reminders built into the system but would have liked the reminder time frame to be longer then 30 days.

They are withdrawing more than they should for fees and promise to correct but never do and now charging late fees because of their error. No one will call back. Can't reach by phone. They email and say problem corrected and it never is.

All I can say is keep up the good work.

Pros

I've been in my position processing payroll with Paycor for 5 1/2 years. It gets easier and simpler to use all the time. The continual improvement and upgrades, especially to Paycor Perform, never cease to impress me. Not to mention, knowledgeable help is always available when necessary. Setting up a new employee is a breeze. Entering our bi-weekly payroll is not all that time consuming. Running reports is an added bonus.

Cons

Can't think of a thing. I have nothing negative to say about Paycor Perform. I've seen a lot of change for the good.

Compared with our old Payroll software (from one the largest players in the industry), this online Payroll portal is much easier to use, faster to load, and tracks far more data on our staff. The custom reporting feature can send reports automatically by email to managers at the timing we set up... we use this feature often.

Cons

Just really don't like their customer service approach. Yes, you have a dedicated team assigned to your account. But their response to questions is always to send you a PDF with directions instead of grabbing the phone and walking us through sometime. And, their IT department is constantly working on the site so there are weird malfunctions somewhat regularly... I've learned not to submit payroll at the last minute for fear that the system will be down.

I like that all of the functions that I needed to use were easily accessible. I was able to toggle between all of the different functions that I needed to use frequently throughout the day. This enabled me to save time, so I could focus on other responsibilities. The program has diverse settings, so I was able to do payroll and hiring all from one program. Very convenient.

I didn't really have any complaints or difficulties with this program. It truly is an easy to use program. I have used many other programs, so I am a m ore advanced user. In any event, the programming is conscientious and efficient.

This took a number of different HR resources that were spread out among multiple sites and local docs and reduced it down to one single location so users don't have to search around to find basic HR needs.

Pros

Very user friendly, easy to navigate, and everything is there in one place. We used to have to go to multiple websites or local documents if we wanted to clock in/out, view PTO, view benefits, employer resources, etc. Now we have all of that in one place which makes it very easy to view all things HR.

Cons

This is near perfect. I think the mobile app can be improved upon a bit more. I rarely use it because it's kind of clunky. Other than that, very little to complain about with this software.

Totally easy to use. There was practically no training needed for employees at all levels. What is offered is painless and works well.

Cons

To many limitations. The mobile app had so many issues and often wouldn't load on any device. The password authentication to log in is trouble some as well. Getting customer support to assist is great when our rep was available, but any time she wasn't it was a nightmare.

Cons

The most recent upgrade is more of a downgrade unfortunately. With decreased reporting functionality and certain features that were seen as excellent are now not available. Its a big disappointment.

This software is easy to use and makes the process of hiring employees to paying employees almost effortless. They file federal taxes on your behalf, offer new hire and I9 eligibility options, and have an easy to understand payroll grid that is so easy, a new hire could successfully use!

Cons

While the software itself is great, customer support tends to be lacking. In my experience, my payroll specialist changed almost on a monthly basis and I never knew who to call to talk to regarding account issues. It was hard to resolve an issue because every time I called to talk to our representative, they were either busy or we were assigned a new specialist.
