This makes it very easy to see what you want to see - your schedule, or who is working next, before you, or on a shift you might prefer. Sling also provides an ability to switch shifts with individuals rather than everyone on the team which reduces clutter to those who cannot work that shift. #### Cons There is not much about Sling that I did not like other than when multiple schedules are input there are occasional errors. Sometimes the shifts at my job overlap for different responsibilities, which we schedule into Sling. It makes my job easier and gives me some peace of mind. #### Cons I have a couple issues.My least favorite thing is the mobile app, I said before it's just clunky and doesn't feel like a mobile app.I also need a way to view pdf's on the app without it downloading to your phone.And lastly it would make everything so much easier if I could have an hourly rate and a day rate option for employee's.That would solve all my issues and make me love using this scheduling system. I then saw how Sling offered a timeclock, which our company really needed. We relied on Excel sheets for our employees, so using a timeclock app was like bringing us out of the dark ages. We use the Newsfeed all the time to communicate policy and procedure changes as well. It has changed the way we interface with our employees. #### Cons I would really love to see more customization for things like the timeclocks and working hours. For example, we are an umbrella of companies. We have physical properties that are staffed with managers and assistants (Great Atlantic Management), we have a Home Office staff (Great Atlantic Companies), and we have a maintenance staff (Great Atlantic Contracting). We also have some properties that are unmanned, so we have no computers at that location. So, it would be fantastic if we can choose the mobile timeclock for just certain employees (like our Contracting crew and the unmanned helpers). Our Contracting crew also works 10 hour days, so when they request a vacation day, it needs to be a 10hr block, but I can't tell the system to use 10hrs for this position vs 8hrs for that position unless I choose the "partial day" option, which cuts down on the convenience of the app. It would be GREAT if the "Position" option allowed more features, like enable different timeclocks, enable different working times, etc. Most companies have different departments that require different hours, etc., so being able to customize this would be very helpful. #### Reasons for choosing Sling Timesheet Mobile was very customizable, so I could choose who was going to use the mobile timeclock vs a kiosk but there was not a real communication hub with them. I think the best way to describe our experience with Sling is by relaying the following series of events. We were aware that we were losing money due to inefficient scheduling, so much so that our board of directors authorized us to spend $500 for a consultant to come provide us with a better way to operate. While the consultant had some decent ideas, they were not actionable. We decided to try out Sling. Now that we have started using it and upgraded to the premium version, we are spending less annually to have all our scheduling handled by Sling than we paid a consultant for a day's worth of work. We are a relatively small non-profit, and as such we have multiple employees who routinely have to work outside their specialty/field of expertise in order to keep us afloat. One area that we have consistently had issues with is scheduling and tracking employees and volunteers. With multiple sites and multiple managers, we were losing money because we were doubling up on many shifts. It was not until we implemented Sling that we were able to effectively manage our employees schedule to provide us with the most return on our investment and our customers with the best service. #### Cons We started out using the free version of Sling. Because we have less than 50 employees, this suited us fine at first, but there were options we did not have access to. I used to text message all of my employees to ler ask if they can work and then again to let them know when they are working! I no longer need to do that. They all know if they cant work they do the "Time Off request" if they can never work on such day they do "Unavailible" The natrue of our business are only events so we are somewhere different every event. Sling connects the address to the date as well. Its just been a total Game Changer a fee that we can afford!! #### Cons This is a hard one! It let's those who are on vacation know what their schedule is without calling the store. We can communicate with our employee's when we have a store meeting, if we have shifts #### Cons My one and only issue is the cost. As a General Manager of one store, the overall company does not pay to use Sling so I am responsible for the bill.
