I've also used Device42 then Insight by Riada as competing products because had developed integrations with Jira Cloud and Jira Service Desk Cloud for our task and service ticket management. Reftab continued to develop their product and has now integrated with Jira. Nice! Custom statuses don’t automatically change unless there’s an automated workflow set up to update them based on actions like check-out. Pressing the back button doesn't take us back by one page, but to the homepage itself. This is time-consuming and frustrating. Reftab claims that the accessories are not bookable even if they have recently been cancelled or have no bookings, it will not be bookable. A Store Desk would be helpful such as what SISO offered with the barcode scanning. #### Reasons for switching to Reftab They were not creating new features that we needed. This can be accomplished with someone savvy with Excel but it isn't out of the box. It also would be nice to have some preset images for assets. This make data enter a snap. Inventory Management Assset Mannagement Tracks not only who has assets, but the assets availability (i.e., needing repair or functional) also cost, age, maintenance and repair cost. This is great for working with inventory. Last, they have awesome support group. They respond quickly and will provide one-on-one video call to clarify issues. #### Cons Cannot print a list of items in a kit. Cannot convert template kit to kit. Cannot see kits when loan rights are through portal access. Cannot print accessories by category of accessory #### Reasons for choosing Reftab they did not allowed for kits. Feedback like yours truly helps us improve. Regarding the Intune integration, the missing RAM and Processor data stem from limitations in Microsoft’s Graph API. Intune’s Physical Memory property currently returns 0, and processor details aren’t exposed at all. Because of this, we’ve removed those fields until Microsoft updates their API. We are actively exploring ways to use other Graph API endpoints to enhance data collection, (though this is a resource-intensive process) . But, your feedback reinforces that this is an area worth continued investment. Regarding pulling in installed software on computers, Reftab has the ability to do this with Intune. Also being able to trust what's actually imported into Reftab. #### Cons I wish there was a way to set up a two way sync for certain assets. For example, it's handy to have VM's located in Intune stored in Reftab, but would be nice to hvae a means to clean them up. As well as some of the hardware information from Intune that can't be mapped. Also things would be nice to have like the Apple warranty information, but I know we're at Apple's mercy with the API there. #### Reasons for choosing Reftab We looked at a few solutions including Asset Panda and Jira's built in asset management. This software is very simple and straight forward and very customizable. #### Cons You can't change the fields in the LDAP sync to custom fields such as Screen size etc. If importing machines you can't have the asset status set to in stock automatically. Which means you have to go to each asset and change the status manually. You can make a Workflow Automation that changes the asset status automatically for any new asset added after creation. #### Reasons for choosing Reftab We have a patch management software we use that runs off an installable agent and will take a back seat to anything else that runs off an agent. I needed to find a solution to manage checkout hardware for staff and students. Anything from laptops to slide rulers. I checked into several options. Some free, some where the startup cost was over $5K. When I found Reftab, I was sold right away. It was so easy to get setup and it covered everything I needed. But then, there's the tech support and customer service aspect. Wholly cow, the Reftab team is on it!!! I've run into a few cases where I could use a feature. I submitted my use case and OMG, they developed it and implemented it. Now, if I asked for something that no one would use, mileage could vary, but they respond quickly and really seem to understand my needs as a customer. I setup my first instance without needing any support and barely glancing at the documentation. I had a fully functioning demo running with assets and testing check in check out in about an hour of signing up for a demo account. The mobile app adds to that intuitive use. #### Cons I wish I could tie printing inventory labels to my Dymo labelwriter and use a label template to print more customized intentory labels right from the Dymo. OK... The reserve function is very useful for our students as they often need the same materials, so they can reserve on the day that works best for them. #### Cons I don't like generating my own BAR-CODEs. Regarding barcode generation, automatic barcode/asset tag incrementing is actually enabled by default in Reftab. If you’re currently having to generate them manually, it’s possible that setting may have been turned off at some point. Easy to leave at jobsites. This has been huge in keeping our assets. WE have seen a savings from not having to rebuy lost items. The software is comprehensive enough we also use it to provide asset lists for taxes as well. The software can track your item locations, you can add picture of the items, the cost and date of purchase as well as track how long you had it till it was disposed off. The reports let you know who and how many times the item has been checked out. #### Cons The two issues we had with the software was the inability to change asset numbers and the printing of tags was complicated system.
