The software was great at the beginning but the owners are not content with that. They keep making it better and better. I can't wait to see what additions they make to Time To Pet in the future. The schedular has a great calendar with drag and drop capability. Everything is integrated so nothing falls through the cracks. Our customers have also enjoyed using the software. The software encourages customers to leave tips when making payments. Where we weren't getting many tips before we now get lots of tips. The software has more than paid for itself just in tips! He made you feel your question or comment was most important to him - now they seem to be stock answers from the service department making you feel more like a number than a client. Ratings Breakdown 3 Ease of use 4 Value for money 5 Customer support 3 Functionality Pros: Ease of Scheduling for subcontractors/employees on the road via the app or in the office on the computer. As well as generating subcontractor/employee invoices/pay - very little effort on admin to complete these tasks. Customer Service is very quick and responsive. Invoicing to the client is effortless - unless you do not keep up with the scheduling! Cons: Like most dog walking companies or businesses, we use sub-contractors - so basically self-employed individuals. These sub-contractors have access to information that I do consider confidential. I understand the basics of subcontractors seeing the client name, address, entry/alarm code - otherwise, they would not be able to perform the job they were hired to complete - but if I am having a conversation with a client who has asked questions, made comments, etc this information should not be able to be seen by the subcontractor or employees. Yet it is if that particular individual was assigned to that particular client. Imagine your surprise when a client sends you a note on the lack of performance or how anything negative about your subcontractor/employee and that said person was able to read the entire thread! Con #2 - We do pack walks that vary day by day - every client in the pack walk is in conflict with each other according to the schedule. It would appear the scheduling aspect of the software is set up for an individual at specific times. Not such a big deal as you just have to override it but a bit of a pain when doing mass scheduling. Con #3 - When a client submits a request for service and they are a client that does not get invoiced you can not accept the request without generating an invoice. The option not to invoice is not present on client generated service requests. Reasons for choosing Time To Pet We choose Time to Pet as we thought it was one of the only ones out there to service our particular requirements and the reviews. It’s simplified, organized, and streamlined everything, giving me peace of mind knowing that all aspects of my business are centralized in one place. My clients love the transparency it offers, from clear invoicing to seamless scheduling and real-time communication through the portal and app. Both are incredibly user-friendly, making it easy for me to build strong relationships with clients. Some of my favorite features are the QuickBooks integration, the scheduling tool, and the report cards. Time To Pet is full of fantastic tools that have made my business more efficient and my clients happier! Cons: It's honestly difficult to pinpoint any real cons with Time To Pet. After switching from another pet sitting/dog walking software, I've been able to find everything I need over time. They’ve clearly thought through a lot of the details. That said, I do wish there was an easier way to mark off holiday weeks. It would also be great to have a client-facing board where I could post updates and announcements, so clients can check for important information on their own. Currently, email is the primary method, and since some clients opt out of receiving emails, they may miss key updates. Aside from that (and even considering that), Time To Pet has been fantastic! I've saved myself 10 hours of administrative work with Time To Pet and my only regret is not signing up when the read the first article about it. It mirrors a level of professional to clients and gives them confidence knowing I'll be there for their pets when I say I will. It also allows my business to be transparent with policies and contracts which is extremely valuable. Ratings Breakdown 5 Ease of use 5 Value for money 5 Customer support 5 Functionality Pros: One of the most important things to me was to be able to have once central place for my clients to do everything - review & sign a contract, complete care instructions, schedule services, pay their invoice and communciate. After trying to do some of these tasks in one product and other tasks in another product and maybe even have some handwritten notes, I felt too chaotic (and it's just me!). There are some features within each of those tasks I love that I can truly tailor the software to work for my business, to reflect us in many ways from branding to how we offer service timeframes, to automatically charging holiday fees and cancellation fees. If I have to choose my favorite features, they are the ease of scheduling for trips and the ability for customers to sign contracts. Cons: Integrating with my existing business processes was seamless, plus the onboarding checklist points out businesses processes I could add or improve on. The product can be overwhelming at first because there are so many features to set up, but I feel each feature is important to explore to see if it needs to be implemented for the business. The onboarding made me take a look at my processes and find gaps, so that was an unexpected bonus. Two features I feel could be improved are reminders and texting. Currently reminders to clients (I remind them about upcoming services and invoices due) can be scheduled but I would like to see them automated. I previously used Square for invoicing and I loved how I could set up reminders in that platform. Texting is a feature however there is a limit to the number of texts that can be used before an additional charge and recently the charge increased. I do not like this limit or additional charge for a couple reasons: TTP is already the most expensive software and an additional charge is over the top to me; the "workarounds" are emails (emails get lost by clients or they just don't read & clients have the ability to unsubscribe!) and push notifications via the mobile app (the items that cause a push notification are few and I do not like feeling like i have to force my clients to download an app just for pet sitting visits for their 2x/year vacations). Reasons for choosing Time To Pet Time To Pet's resources available to set up my account really set them apart, because from their comprehensive and detailed articles and videos I could tell they were like me - detailed, efficient and always improving. The features were everything I needed as a solo sitter and more, plus having the ability to scale to a team model was important to me. Reasons for switching to Time To Pet Time To Pet has previous pet sitters on their team and they know what the pet sitting industry needs to run daily and weekly operations. Cons: Due to the sheer number of customizations, the program can be daunting at first. However, it is completely worth the time to learn it. I had to think outside the box a bit to ensure the program could be tailored to the specific needs of my company which can be scary at first. TTP has never let me down and I've always been able to use the features and options to tailor the program to be exactly what I need. While there are a lot of documents explaining how to do things, more video instruction would be helpful however TTP's customer service is the absolute BEST. If you can't figure it out or can't find the answer you're looking for, their team is always knowledgeable and quick to respond. Reasons for choosing Time To Pet TTP contained the greatest ability to tailor the program to my companies needs. It has such a variety of customizations, I feel like it was built just for my business. Coupled with their customer service, I took the leap and I am so glad I did. I couldn't imagine running my business with any other pet sitting software. Reasons for switching to Time To Pet Power Pet Sitter started to feel like it was a step behind. Updates were not made quickly, if at all. Complaints fell on deaf ears, and the system felt like it was from the 90's. It helps me take care of many admin tasks easily and quickly. It helps me with onboarding new clients, booking and scheduling, sending reports and photos to clients, invoicing, sending saved, scheduled and auto replies, financial reports, tracking pay and hours and most importantly making sure that we never miss a visit. A new feature is added every couple of months and support is quick, friendly and helpful. Cons: No cat in logo even though there are just as many cat owners as dog owners who receive updates through Time to Pet. Reasons for choosing Time To Pet At the time (end of 2017), was the only pet sitting software that had an app that was up and running. Was also most popular with other pet sitters with reports of strong reliability. I found this to be true once I was using the software. Also has a really good facebook group for users.
