MyCase is the Most Affordable Small Law Firm Case Management Software
Affordability is one of the best benefits of MyCase. MyCase offers simple month-to-month, no contract obligation pricing a month for each attorney and /month for each paralegal. Another great benefit MyCase offers is Lawyer App which is compatible with iPhone, iPad or Adroid. Accounting features are limited within MyCase but with the ability to integrate QuickBooks, accounting is a snap. Collaborate, create, customize utilizing Legal Practice Management Tool Kit is another great feature MyCase provides to its clients. The automation software provides task template and case flows for repetitive forms via intake which is beneficial for estate planning, probate, divorce, and bankruptcy law firms. MyCase is the least expensive case management software available for law firms and would benefit small firms. Also, MyCase has been adding new features through time. You'll enjoy the time billing, firm reports, online payments, Quickbook integration, document management and collaboration features. I recommend trying the 30-day trial for free and check it out!
CONSMyCase is the least expensive for a reason and with price, there are limits to features. MyCase is not as robust as its competitors if your law firm is medium to large. MyCase caters to small firms. If you are a firm that bills on contingency, UTBMS or LEDES, MyCase may not be for you. Also, MyCase only integrates with QuickBooks whiles others integrate with Xero too.

Agrxis Review on MyCase
I've used MyCase extensively and have discovered it to be a priceless tool for running my law firm. The platform provides a wide range of functions that have significantly simplified my day-to-day business operations. I like the document management features in especially since they make it simple for me to organize and retrieve client papers, court records, and other crucial materials. I've also relied heavily on the time-tracking and invoicing features to effectively manage my money and generate correct customer invoices. Additionally, I now communicate with my clients more effectively thanks to client communication technologies like encrypted messaging and client portals, which offer a smooth and expert communication channel. MyCase's user-friendly layout and intuitive user experience have made it simple for me to use the site and rapidly become used to its features. Additionally, the mobile app has changed the game by enabling me to organize my practice and stay connected while on the road. MyCase has, all things considered, greatly increased the effectiveness and structure of my practice, making it a crucial instrument for my career as a legal expert.
PROSI have been using MyCase for my legal practice, and I must say that it has exceeded my expectations in many ways. One of the things I like most about MyCase is its comprehensive feature set. The platform offers a wide range of tools and functionalities specifically designed for law firms, which has greatly improved my efficiency and organization. From case management and document management to time tracking and billing, MyCase has all the essential features I need to streamline my workflow and manage my cases effectively. CONSIn my experience using MyCase for my legal practice, there are a few aspects that I liked least about the platform. Steer Clear If You Are A Defense Firm!
So far horrendous!
PROSNothing to date. Was very misled during our initial demo with Conor
CONSThe misconceptions from the initial contact through the program becoming fully functional have been nothing less than a nightmare! Mycase does not allow you to upload or attach a firm logo to email signatures which may be fine for a sole practitioner but not conducive for a P.A. This program is not geared toward a defense firm. Firstly, none of our UTMBS codes were carried over from unbilled time from our previous billing program so we have to manually go into all the time entries and add the codes for ledes billing along with all of the client matter id, client id, law firm id, law firm matter id, along with enabling ledes formatting on each and every case! I also just discovered that if you have a client that does not require ledes formatting, there is no way for the claim number to show up on the invoice unless you manually add it in the description field every time you bill the file. Needless to say, all of these issues are very time-consuming when you have 100-plus open matters and your sole responsibility is not invoicing clients. They also do not permit the customization of columns on the case list page, but they will tell you you can run a report that is customizable. The only problem is that NONE of the reports have hyperlinks to actually open up the file so you have to constantly switch from screen to screen - again very time-consuming and not easily accessible! Another huge drawback is the synching with Quickbooks! If you advance client costs and place an ent

Customer support was lacking and lacked customizable features. During our initial contact with Conor at mycase we were briefly given a demo with one of their support individuals but until you actually have the program and are able to use it to its full capabilities will you discover it is subpar.

Great Case Management for Legal Services Providers
Great customer service, always fast and helpful. Love the client portal and the ease of case management. It works really well for me providing legal services to multiple law firms and is the best for my use case after reviewing and trying about every other case management system out there. I would recommend MyCase to others based on ease of use and customer service alone. But it has so many pluses it's a no brainer for me.
PROSI like the unlimited storage and ease of client communication. MyCase allows me to keep everything in one place, making case management and organization a simple and effective.
CONSThe email integration doesn't allow enough granular control to make it effective for my use. I liked the old system of forwarding emails to my case and then matching them to the matter. Hoping MyCase evolves the email integration to add more control to how it can be used.

Better situated for my use case to manage numerous law firm and attorney clients. Working on different internal clients for the same law firms required options I could only find in MyCase. Unlimited storage is also a must and I get it for one price. It's by far the best platform for me.

MyCase Highly Recommended for any Small-Sized Law Firm
It feels like every few months or so, I discover a new feature in MyCase that I wasn't aware of that makes my job/life easier. I feel like there is still much more that I could use within MyCase that I just don't know about yet. This understanding is only limited by the time I have to spend diving into MyCase's features. Either way, I'm optimistic because I feel strongly that there is more about MyCase that I can learn about and utilize.
PROSI have used MyCase with three (3) different law firms: Once as an employee, once as a partner, and now as a sole-practitioner. I have also used Abacus. At each of the prior firms, I had no complaints and as a result, did not bother to spend any time researching other firm management software when starting my solo practice. The document e-signature feature is very convenient. The activity feed is very useful, and the ability to see the history of cases (and document handling -- who has viewed/uploaded a document) is critical.
CONSSometimes the features are not intutitive and I have to research how and why a particular feature is used. This costs me valuable time that I could spend billing hours on cases.

MyCase Covers the Bases
MyCase is a wonderful way to manage our law practice. It covers all the bases and continues to improve with time.
PROSMyCase offers many terrific features , but I think the way time entries and expenses may be collected for invoicing is probably the best thing of all. This makes the billing process, which can be rather complex at law firms, so much easier. And if you also use MyCase for payments that streamlines and simplifies the process even more!
CONSThere are little things that could be improved on MyCase; sometimes things are not as easy to find or access, but if I am stumped for too long I get support from MyCase. If I call MyCase Customer Support , the person I speak to is always helpful, patient, and courteous.

Intuitive and Helpful
One of the main reasons that I chose MyCase is that I found the software very intuitive to use. I also love the workflows. Once I got them set up (still ongoing), it really made things much faster. I like that leads, texting and e-signatures are included.
CONSOne change I wish MyCase would do is integrate with GoogleDrive or OneDrive. MyCase integrates with the calendars, but not the document storage.Another change that I would like to see is the merge fields to work in the headers/footers. I don't understand why they work everywhere else in the document.Contingent fee billing is rather complicated.

Onboarding is the worst.
The integration phase has been hellish. I have been told conflicting this, it's taking a longer time than expected and is interfering with our ability to work and process.
PROSIt is user friendly, which will make it easier for staff and clients to interact with the system.
CONSthey oversell what it can actually do. Oversell, under perform is really what's going on with this program.

Maybe the best bang for your buck. Which is ok for a hamburger
It is a great software for the price. However, when it comes to software, it should either be right or it is wrong. This is not like a hamburger where a McDonald's hamburger is great for the price. For law, you need a steak burger.
PROSThe software does the billing and case management ok. The price point is very good for this product. The customer support is one of the best I have experienced. They are constantly making improvements to the software. Calendaring software works well. The payment of invoices is seamless. This works perfectly.
CONSThe software lacks a few features. For example, you have to manually bill each and every client. Also, if you have over 100 clients, then I am not sure how you keep track of invoicing them. Here are a few basic items that I think are important but are lacking: You can not set a minimum balance for a client that automatically goes on the bill. You cannot apply payments to one particular case. It gets applied to the client, not the case. Money is paid or requested by client. So, a client with multiple cases, is an issue. Drafting of documents is horrible. It controls fonts and layouts and is just bad. I use it to merge and then use Word to fix it up.

MyCase Legal Case Management Review
MyCase has allowed us to provide more detailed information internally for each case, given our clients more interaction with their case, and communication flows well using the messaging function, payment can be easier (we use the e-check function, which is currently free with the software), and having a central system for the office makes it easier for us to work from multiple locations. There are many features we use, including the MyCase app for our firm, tasks, calendar, notes and checklists for each case, and many others. Although there are some features that need work to be useful to our firm (reporting, intake forms, and tasks, and some integrations), MyCase overall is well worth it for our small firm. MyCase is very open and eager to receive feedback from users, and incorporates updates regularly, which improves the system, and have seen my feedback implemented into the system. Customer Service in my experience is excellent, and timely. I highly recommend MyCase.
PROSBank grade encryption of data and documents. Ability to give clients access to their own portal, which is very easy to use, and allows them to upload documents directly to the system with drag and drop function. Clients can message securely, have their own calendar for case related events, our firm can task clients with a checklist, and they can pay online. The Client secure access was a major reason we switched to MyCase in 2012.
CONSI prefer to have more robust reporting functionality as it relates to managing cases by dates, and other case data. The reporting function exists but is not developed enough to capture all the data I prefer in my case management reports. Email integration is not ideal, but I understand a major upgrade is coming soon.

Client access is one of the best on the market based on what I have checked out. I have considered several other systems, but none have the functionality and ease of use for client access. Cost is straight forward and includes unlimited document uploads.

A Great Product That Continues to Grow and Bring Value
MyCase has provided the opportunity for my firm to coordinate activity between staff, set and track critical date, as well as maintain an overall awareness of the business from a financial standpoint.
PROSEase of use. Receptiveness to adding services and options. The ability to track leads. Dropbox integration. Billing is institutive.
CONSWould like top see the options in the mobile app catchup with the online capabilities, especially accepting payments.

I moved from Clio to CosmosLex with the idea of having more reporting options. It ended up not being a good fit. When determining to leave ComoLex I had to determine if I was going back to Clio or to do something else. I had previously looked at MyCase prior to going to :CosmoLex and decided to look at it again then made the switch..

Paperless functionality
I have had mycase since 2013. I used to lug massive tubs of files. Now I carry my iPad and make the other attorneys jealous. My back, arms, and shoulders thank me for the subscription. I have used the service since 2013 and have watched it grow to fit attorneys' needs. The current versions are wonderful.
PROSI can access all of my case files, police reports, court reports and documents anywhere. I carry an iPad to court. The other attorneys carry a back breaking stack of files. When a Judge thought I had to be goofing around, he was shocked when I showed him Mycase and how I was doing my billing, document review, and communicating to my office while waiting for my turn in the Courtroom.
CONSIt took a long time to get the billing options right. I hated having to integrate with Quickbooks and the sync not work correctly. I finally can print past due statements with a lot more ease. Thank you for fixing it. I would love to be able to access amount due on the road from the app on my phone.

Mycase was a complete package option with billing, calendar, and client access all in one. By being able to email documents and reminders to clients, we are saving postage too.
Reasons for switching to MyCase
They were pricey with limited options. This made more sense and we haven't looked back. Transferring all of the billing was a pain, but we like it much better and clients are happy. Now that there is an integrated credit card payment option, we are complete.

MyCase Daily User Experience
MyCase has been a wonderful tool for our firm. It allows for a more digital experience for both users and clients. MyCase is always updating to stay ahead of the current trends and needs, and they never take a long time to correct issues when they are reported. I love the MyCase staff which is always helpful and willing to explain things so we better understand why or why not something is the way it is. I will be happy telling others of the useful and customization features within MyCase. The support staff and product managers are always willing to help and take suggestions, which they tend to implement if they can. I have had a ton of ideas implemented which makes our daily activities easier. Overall, this software is pretty user friendly, high ability to customize a lot of areas, an all in one type of feel and beneficial for any office looking to go more digital.
PROSWhat I love the most about this software is that it's always updating features and areas of needed interest. I love that the MyCase team is always there to take a concern, suggestion or edit that may be needed or wanted. I love that it's ALMOST an all in one system. I love that you can do customizing within the software on the end user side as well, without having to contact MyCase for most of them. I love that this is easy to learn, use and contact support. I love that MyCase is always willing to update to stay current.
CONSWhat I like least about this software is the inability to filter OPEN and CLOSED cases in the Trust Account Activity and Trust Account Summary. We use this section for a quick check on which cases has a balance and which cases don't, but it shows EVERY case we have in MyCase without a way to filter out Closed. We have far too many cases open to check one by one. I also like least about this software that you have to request engineering to re-add Contact Groups that you delete, when it was added by the end user in the first place. An accidental delete of a contact group takes too much involvement to have re-added and we end up creating new ones. I also like least about this software that the App and the Desktop version are so much different in a few areas that are used most in our office.
Reason for choosing MyCase
Essentially MyCase was chosen based on the features, support information, price and newness of the software. Reviewing was done extensively before choosing MyCase and in the end MyCase won. I just wish that we were told about the 10% OBA Member discount from the start since it was available and not known until we referred another firm and they were able to get it, then it was not allowed to be retro-active. Someone should check new customer discounts upon start up or each year to ensure you are providing that information to your customers. Knowing we could save that from the start and it was not mentioned was slightly unfair feeling. It was added to the next invoice when WE requested it.

Best Business Software Around -- And We've Tried Them ALL
Not sure who's working hard or hardly working? Can't remember how many "preferred clients" received discounts? Want to know how much of a loss you've taken on a case or by providing pro-bono work? MyCase solves all of these issues and more!
PROS- The Customer Service representatives are 100,000/10. - Access ANYWHERE on ANY device. - Continually improving EVERY aspect to maintain its prestige position as the BEST CRM available.
CONSThe only MyCase change that I have ever disliked was the background color going from dark blue to white; it is difficult for low and limited-vision persons, like myself, to see some of the fine print details. Thank goodness for zoom!
