Thread overall
It is a good experience when it does not freeze and has all its functions.
Pros
I really like the home page where you can see the latest info on new emails on files, the files you recently used and the important website links. Templates are very useful and also the preview when you click on a file in activity and doing a brief.
Cons
Not being able to use the full functionality such as scanning post and assigning to file, not being able to use the email in thread to send and receive attachments without the worry of it not going out or going in the unassigned emails, not being able to rename and date an attachment before dragging it in the thread add on to the file. Customizing fields I found a bit tricky. Not being able to use the call option if a client rang and being on the file.
Reasons for Switching to Thread Legal
Clio did not have the full functionality of our law practice needs.

Excellent potential, but not there yet
It has definitely made our job a lot easier in many respects, however it is also very frustrating at times.
Pros
Cloud-based and integrated with Office 365. Very easy to make templates. Developers are responsive to suggestions and many of ours have been implemented.
Cons
It's not at all intuitive so intensive training is necessary. There are numerous bugs and aspects of it regularly become unusable. Impossible to opt out of some "new features" that don't suit us. Visually it is quite unattractive. No mobile app and its mobile website is very difficult to work with.
Reasons for Choosing Thread Legal
The others were not cloud based
Reasons for Switching to Thread Legal
Thread had more of the features that we needed.

Good product
Very positive.
Pros
We started using Thread in the office in March 2020. It helped us to improve our case management and allowed us to switch ti remote work if needed. It was crucial in light of Covid19 pandemics as we could continue our work smoothly. It is also very helpful to have an access to all files while in court on during the business trip without the need of taking heavy paper files with you. It is a very good all-in-one tool for case management, outlook, calendar and tasks. It has a nice and easy to navigate interface and most of the functions are very intuitive and can be operated after no or very little training. We see a lot of improvement in the last year so i look forward for next upgrades.
Cons
There are still few bugs showing one and again which are being taken care of the IT support team. It does not work well on Linux

Thread Legal Software
I had lost some emails and was concerned about loss of data, and security
Pros
It is relatively early days for me, but I like the security of knowing that my files are backed up in the cloud and that I can access them everywhere on my phone. I see that the more information that is fed into the system, the better it performs. When the information is there, it does make creating documents quite fast and easy
Cons
I am using the system less than 6 months, and at present, there remains a temptation for speed to simply use my old system, which did rely on copying over precedent letters etc. That is faster in the moment. I do understand that will improve by sticking with it. Creating templates I find to be a bit fiddly, and the categories for contacts are a bit limited in some respects - a common one required for Irish legal practitioners would be an engineer or architect and I have to use consultant as the category, because there is no appropriate option

Review
Pros
Very easy to use and navigate and seems to link well with Microsoft applications
Cons
The Thread Email thread is a convoluted way of transferring emails. Once you upload you then have to go into Thread to change the name etc. The Tasks feature needs more work as you dont seem to get any reminders.

Potential to be great - still a work in progress
Overall experience fair. This may be partly down to needing further training. The problem is that bad habits are formed where the product is not easy or intuitive to use.
Pros
Recent integration of emails very useful
Cons
Booklet preparation and presentation not good. Attaching documents while sending emails very clunky. Information slow to load. Click to contacts should be front page.
Reasons for Switching to Thread Legal
Wanted cloud based solution, more modern functionality.

Frustrating but I appreciate that there are issues that need to be ironed out

Cons
It doesn't really work completely for what we need. Mac integration is poor. Renaming of emails etc. is clunky, too many clicks.
