The most innovative, easy to use and cost effective solution with reseller portal.

Slascone has been very active from the beginning to realize our project with the licensing and has been and still is very helpful. They take the time and remain friendly, no matter how much you don't know about programming, like me, and ask 10 times. It is also very fun to work with the people from Slascone.

PROS

Very easy to use. License activations, deactivations, renewals are done very quickly online, without the need to update or send customer any files. Separate access for partners and resellers, who can independently manage their licenses for their own customers, is very well solved. We have a great overview of our licenses. During the first implementation, Slascone was always there to help us. As far as licensing is concerned, best decision made. The cool part is also in comparison to our previous licensing, that the licensing runs directly through our own software and we can now independently license our new products quite easily. The customer starts our software, enters the license key that we generate via Slascone and that's it. Also cool to see if customer is working with our software or not. It is also very much appreciated that from the beginning things are explained that cannot be realized, instead of just trying to sell the solution.

CONS

Not until now. From what I've heard from our developers, integrating Slscone was easy. And once it's integrated, we can easily use the code for other products. Maybe the web interface for licensing could be designed in a way that you can customize it.

Reason for choosing SLASCONE

Looking for a new solution, I had googled and requested a demo from the first few manufacturers listed. And finally decided on Slascone. First of all, I liked the price/performance and the features that are offered. After the first demo, I found the handling of the licensing very innovative compared to other manufacturers and therefore decided for Slascone.

Reasons for switching to SLASCONE

In my opinion, Wibu is still very oldschool. With Slascone, we send our customers a simple license code and our software is unlocked and the license can be easily renewed or locked online. With Wibu we had to send a file to the customer, the file came back, license was generated from our side and then sent back to the customer. If the customer wants a license extension, they have to send us another file and we send them another file for licensing. Also, you have to install a separate software, which is not the case with Slascone. The licensing is completely integrated in our software. While I am listing the disadvantages of Wibu, more and more positive properties about Slascone come to my mind. Also with Wibu we had to do the licensing for all our Resellers and their customers by our own. As a global company with resellers and customers all over the world, it is very time consuming to have to do the licensing yourself, which is no longer the case with Slascone, thanks to the individual access for all resellers. When updating our software from our site, we had to re-license our software each time and run it through the Wibu software. Which did not always work right away. With Slascone, we have integrated licensing into our software products once and no longer have to do anything when updating our products.

Slascone Licensing

PROS

I really like the web UI. It's very intuitive and easy to use (especially compared to the competition).Also the integration into C# was straight forward due to good documentation and a NuGet package that does most of the heavy lifting.

CONS

The only thing that I would wish for is better access to the raw analytical data. Many things you can only see digested (in form of plots) in the WebUI (or at least I did not figure out yet how to get a more detailed export).But regardless, considering how well the Team responds to feature requests, I am sure this is just a matter of time till I can get this as well :).

Reason for choosing SLASCONE

The only thing that Nalpeiron had over Slascone was more years of experience.But the product itself of Slascone was superior in any other way.It also factored into our business decission that we had a very good trial with Slascone. They were very helpful and implemented many of our suggestions even while we were only on trial with them, just to accommodate our needs.

Reasons for switching to SLASCONE

We thought it's time to go with something more professional that allows us for more flexibility with our licensing.

1. Simplicity of the Product, yet serves the purpose of a nice License Management Solution 2. Possibility (and SLASCONE's willingness) to customize, the way a customer needs 3. Blazing fast support across the entire hierarchy of the organization

CONS

1. The License Management solution currently offers very basic ways of querying information 2. Its Analytics offerings cannot be customized much - as on date 3. Separate environments are currently not offered for testing and production

I am impressed by the SLASCONE support. The response times are remarkably short and the answers are highly competent and efficient. One experience that I remember particularly positively is that the SLASCONE team proactively informed us about a new feature that might be of interest to us. This proactive approach gave me the impression that SLASCONE has the needs of its users in mind. What particularly sets SLASCONE apart is its extremely solution-oriented approach and systemic thinking. For me, they are a reliable and trustworthy business partner.

Great bussiness partner and licensing software provider

We are really happy working together with SLASCONE. They support is on really high level, we appreciate how fast they react to problems but also feature requests.

PROS

SLASCONE has all the features we needed, from key based licenses, user based licenses to offline licensing support. You can set up also own instance, which is a great solution if you want to keep all data under control. SLASCONE tool is easy to learn and very elastic. You can customize it to fulfill your internal processes. And also it integrates with Business Central, which is in our case quite important.

CONS

We are really satisfied with the tool, so nothing particular right now.

Super Working

As one of SLASCONE's earliest clients, we collaborated closely with their development team during the product's earliest iterations, particularly in the area of use metrics. First, we used SLASCONE in order to gather usage data from one of our desktop applications. Then, we utilized SLASCONE for entitlement management for a new SaaS product that is currently in production. We are now transitioning our desktop application from an in-house licensing system to SLASCONE. Overall, not only does SLASCONE save time for our development team, but also for our backoffice.

PROS

CONS

You cannot implement floating licensing for completely offline clients.

Slascone licensing review

We were searching for a product management tool rather than a simple license generator. We were able to test and evaluate SLASCONE fairly quickly using the SaaS offering. Our biggest concern with licensing management solutions was the integration with Dynamics365. The SLASCONE team set it up in a matter of hours, so this was important to us. Since we are very familiar and internally use Microsoft Azure, being able to deploy the solution in our own Azure subscription was key. We are confident that SLASCONE can handle large amounts of data. In addition to that, although analytics was not part of our initial goal, we are more than happy to use the out of the box features.

PROS

Very easy to set up and integrate in our mobile app (both iOS and Android). Intuitive, role-based UI that does not require training. Out-of-the-box analytics with easy customization options.

CONS

Limited features for completely offline environments.

Reason for choosing SLASCONE

By far the most advanced analytics functionality, Integration in the Microsoft ecosystem, quick and friendly support during the evaluation phase.

First-class product, even better team and support

Overall, we felt that SLASCONE was the best solution for us considering its modern technological stack, rich functionality, pricing. The pre-sales process/support was very prompt and professional, not promising us "too much".

Licensing API that works as expected

PROS

Based on previous experience, we decided to implement a proper licensing solution from the very start of our young software product. Having limited time and resources to deal with such a non functional issue, we searched for an out of the box solution. Our requirements are still elementary (product activation, feature bits), however having concluded a relatively seamless integration, we are now confident that we can address any future requirements pretty easily.

CONS

We are a small company, and currently use just a subset of SLASCONE's functionality. So far, we have not faced any constraints or restrictions. There are cheaper options out there, but not sure if they offer similar functionality.

Extremely satisfied with Slascone. Powerful and easy to use.

Although the initial project scope was to find a reliable licensing service (our licensing requirements are rather trivial), ideally in Azure, we were impressed with slascone's analytics feature. Currently, slascone is a very important tool for the entire organization.
