Its good to use when we have full fledge instrument connectivity and all the modules were connected.

Investigation cycle is very complicated and still some more simplification with tracking of OOS required, especially to be included with recheck/subscribe and results retransfer option should be allowed during investigation cycles also.

When it works, you can expect it to track audits trials in your laboratory. It is also a way to go paperless for your worksheet, test reports, inventory record, and usage log systems.

There are a lot of unacceptable bugs or design flaws in the software that should have been caught during their QC or QA testing. For example, there is one instance where our supervisor received a test sample on August 2023 and set the due completion date to 30 days. For some reason, the sample due date automatically calculated by the system was December 2022, which was backdated to a year. Confronting the developers, they told us this was a bug "due to several samples being added to the system at the same time, causing the software logic to fail at the backend". We felt that this was a very common use case and should not happen to a mature, marketable product. As for poor design, an example would be when preparing volumetric solutions that have a shelf life of 24 hours, the LIMS software would consider the solution expired on the next calendar date (Even if the solution was prepared at 23:59 pm the day before) After confronting the developers, they stated that our request was uncommon, and that they would take our request as a requirement and need additional time to develop it. In the end, we just resorted to set the validity of the 24 hr volumetric solutions to 48 hours to bypass this bad design.Lastly, the fact that the software forces you to run it using Internet Explorer mode and not Microsoft Edge poses a serious security risk and does not inspire confidence at all.

The main business problem that was solved is the increment in the productivity of the users. As the documentation creation process in a regulated environment can be tedious, implementation of CaliberLIMS has replaced the tedious process with a comparatively smooth operation.

The things that I most liked about CaliberLIMS is that all the required features are available by default and it is the decision of the lab on what additional features to add. Out of the box, the features required in a compliant lab are available. It may not be the most user friendly but there are a lot of configuration features.

The worst thing about CaliberLIMS is that it is not exactly user friendly to use. May be the modules can be compacted for a proper flow during operation and during setup. The other thing that I do not like about CaliberLIMS is the lack of a proper tracking system or a proper notification system. It is entirely upto the user to try and track any activities that needs to be done.

I have been using Caliber LIMS since 5 years. Overall, it is very easy to use and user-friendly software, but still needs a lot of improvement required in build-wise as well as support-wise.

My Pros about Caliber LIMS is:1.Easy Navigation and everyone can handle this software easily with minimum training.2.Easy to register a Master’s Data.3.Good in Sample Workflows, Inventory modules, Audit trails and many useful reports.4.Good in compliance way, no one has rights to “DELETE” the Data.

My Cons about Caliber LIMS is:1. Need improvement while doing Investigation analysis in Sample manager module.2. No technical support in US Time zone and need to improve support area. 3. Errors while using production version and modules one by one even after Qualification.4. Need to improve sample manager module and other modules with more options. Ex: Sample Reconciliation, Unable to handle complex calculations, OOS/OOT handling, Unable to handle complex specifications etc.,

Highly customized, after every patch updation for a new requirements system is having impact in other functionality or related functionality, There is no proper impact assessment.

Caliber LIMS is most valuable and useful software for any kind of laboratory. The funtionalites of Caliber LIMS are very easy for user understanding. As per experience, Caliber team needs to improve to provide quick resolution on reported concerns. Overall the product as Caliber LIMS is good.

During master preparation, SAVE feature is required as similar to other software like Caliber QAMS.I think it should be required.

Work ethics & etiquette, regularly miss the dateline for such milestones given, consultant dare to sleep in customer's office. Documentation, poor practice on Good Documentation Practice (GDP), documentation prepared always come with mistakes. Product features, not convenient for pharmaceutical field. As overall, i would say, good support was given (verbally and written), but the product is not good.

Improvement in the area of instrument calibration and maintenance, inventory and equipment management, personnel workload management, quality assurance and control, and work with 21 CFR Part 11.

I have been working as LIMS lead in pharmaceutical industries from last 8 years and have great experience and learning phase. I wish caliber can progress and make effective impression as currently SAP is in every pharma and non-pharma sector.

Responsive, however the solutions from development team require to be in faster pace. Can see that the developers not so understand the feastures of their own product.

For company with less product types and batches, it might be very useful. For company running with 30-40 batches of FP and incoming material of 50 batches and above, it may not be so user-friendly. Lots of customization required.
