Differnt Approaches
Overall very Informative.
PROSThe Ease of this product is awesome. All of our employees use Niche.
CONSSometimes the Speakers go into very lengthy discussions and don't really explain them selves too much.

Many Reasons to use Niche Acadmey
When the pandemic started in 2020 Niche Academy was used as an option to work at home. I had work development at the click of my computer. I logged in may programs that related to my job and career at a public library. Because of these classes I have become a more valuable employer and I have shared my knowledge with co- workers and encouraged them to log in to Niche Academy. Since 2020 I have viewed many more relevant classes.
PROSI work at a public library and my employer has paid all the fees to have Niche Academy for staff. The programs are easy to log into and navigate. The topics are relevant to my working environment such as security at the work place, how to have fun at work, create programs for adults and children and many more too numerous to mention.
CONSOne feature that could be improved upon is when I scroll through the subtitles it thinks that I have completed the class, but I only skimmed through it but it gives me a certificate of completion.

Simple
The tool is simple and easy to use. It's easy to find your learning history.
CONSI don't often find trainings that are interesting or exciting, or very current, for my role/demographic.

Great Product with Quirks
Niche Academy has been great to work with. They have a super customer service department who respond very quickly. I love that Niche keeps their tutorials updated which is the worth the weight in gold. This does not get lost amongst the other duties that librarians and staff have to do.
PROSI love the fact that the tutorials that are developed by Niche of the most important vendors are being updated on a continuous basis. This is worth the cost of of the software. I love the collaboration that happens and willingness to share.
CONSAt the beginning of Niche the marketplace was manageable, but now with as many libraries contributing to the marketplace it has been hard to figure out what tutorials are really out there. If it is a tutorial we like and we add it to our tutorial repository, it is hard to find the tutorial against the other tutorials.

Love it! Use it all the time.
Staff training is what we primarily use this for, although we've also used it to launch a life skills program for a local jail. Niche Academy staff gave me a lot of time when thinking this through initially. I appreciated the attention.
PROSIt's mostly very easy to use, and we use it ALL the time. Customer Service has always been 5 star.
CONSPages are so often the same from page to page that I get lost. Trying to see which courses have been completed by which employees for example, is not intuitive.

Niche Academy really found its niche
In addition to the annual competency trainings mentioned earlier, Niche Academy offers a variety of useful webinars on topics like reading body language, dealing with fake news, compassionately dealing with homeless patrons, etc. It's great!
PROSWe use Niche for our annual competencies, which are assigned by a department within our organization. Niche offers a number of trainings, but I like how the required ones are highlighted and you can see at a glance which ones you've already completed and which ones you still have to do. Additionally, you can easily see how much time you have to complete the trainings you haven't yet done.
CONSI wish there were more trainings offered, as the existing ones are quite good and very helpful.

Useful topics for librarians
I like the webinars and webinar recordings that are offered. I regularly encourage my staff to view the Niche Academy content for tips on handling difficult work situations. I have found the Homeless Training Institute content particularly useful. I often print pages from the handouts and share them at staff meetings. I get regular invitations to new webinars. I admit that have been a few times I've signed up and then not been able to attend but the content is available later through Niche Academy which really works for me and my constantly changing schedule.
CONSI have found the software easy to use but I'm not doing anything complicated.

Great Product
You get a variety of content that is relevant to library work, plus, someone else on your team can make their own videos as well.
PROSWe started using this product a few years ago at our library. It makes courses easy to navigate through and understand.
CONSThere is nothing I can think of that I do not like about this product.

Good material included in the training programs
We use this primarily for training materials for us employees; we went through courses such as the Front Line Customer Service, Accessibility, De-Escalation, and Code of Ethics. All of the courses contained very relevant and engaging information and provided solid techniques for improving our workplace. The division of the courses into modules made it easy to track progress and to complete the training even if one session was interrupted, as the progress through the module was saved.
CONSThe only problem we ran into was when a few of the courses glitched and did not save the progress being made. However, after we reached out to the Niche team they were very prompt in updating the courses and we were able to continue our training.

Niche Academy Well Worth the Money!
I like being able to use Niche Academy, especially since I can access this from any computer/tablet, etc. I am able to stop and start as needed. It is an overall great training product.
PROSThis product is very user friendly. You can start/stop when needed and this will pick up where you left off. Being that I am not tech savvy, this is a wonderful tool to use for training. You can also access other courses of great interests.
CONSI don't really have any 'least' comments except that under 'My Niche' or my account, I find that I don't have a list of dates of completion especially since I have to take the same course every year.

Useful for Libraries but Interface Needs Updating
Their customer service was excellent. The trainings are beneficial, covering many important aspects of librarianship. However, the interface has an outdated feel, and some functions could be designed better.
PROSIt was geared towards training LIBRARY staff, it was relatively easy to use, and it allowed access to [SENSITIVE CONTENT] Homeless Library trainings.
CONSThe interface feels a bit clunky and outdated. It feels like it needs a facelift, and it seems like it could have greater functionality. It is also very easy for staff using shared computers to be automatically logged in under a previous user, which created a lot of problems during initial setup/training.

Very nice way of offering and taking training
I like that certificates can be printed right from the classroom and that the tracking of completed portions is very straightforward. As mentioned earlier the ability to stop and restart a lesson from the same point is appreciated.
CONSFor whatever reason, possibly to do with reclassification or retitling of the courses, some of the courses I initially completed in our staff academy now show no completion. While we got credit for it anyway, it still is annoying when trying to select the next course to take.

Great Product for training your Staff
Great software
PROSNiche Academy produced good quality content that our teams were able to use. Additionally, the best thing about it is was the collaborative content from other organizations that became available. Also liked the sponsored content that was sent on different topics.
CONSI think the admin section could be worked on a bit easier. Saying that it may have been how we set it up in the first place.

Making online learning easy
I learned how to edit and and files and maintain build a category. I thought it was easy with little instruction. I really like to record keeping and ability to access my trainings and reprint certificates.
PROSThe ability to access and print CE certificate and past training record with progress indicator.
CONSI wish I could upload video and the platform would add closed captioning as an optional feature.

Niche Academy
This program allows me to take classes and attend trainings that I would not normally get to attend in person. It's easy to use and clearly laid out. When I have to stop in the middle, I can go right back to where I stopped with ease.
CONSI don't really have any cons. The program seems to work well.

Niche Academy Really Teaches
Niche has shown me so many new ways to tackle problems and learn ways to make for a better work place.

Always a learer
My overall experience has been good and I have provide that feedback to the people, who manage this software at my organization.
PROSI like that it is easy to follow and the searchers are compatible with a lot of the keywords I use.

NicheAcademy review
Lot's of good courses and videos. Administrators can assign courses and learners can self enroll.
CONSI'm not sure, the UI is pretty good. I guess sometimes it can be overwhelming with the amount of courses available but that's really a good thing.

Great for quick trainings on a wide variety of topics!
I like that each training is easy to go through and isn't very long. Being able to cover so many different topics is nice as well.
CONSI wish they were organized into groups of topics.
