It's great that we can test our team members and track their progress with training. Trainual has solved the issue of having scattered documents because everything we need is centralized, and everyone uses the same information. It's fantastic being able to know who is engaging with the content. I appreciate the capacity to include presentations and YouTube videos, which was initially tricky but ultimately very useful. The platform also allowed us to update our training library with pre-recorded YouTube materials, making everything easily accessible. Overall, the training sessions were highly productive, and the setup was quite smooth. Our Team uses Trainual on a daily basis as it has the playbooks that our various Teams utilise for everything that they need to know or learn more about. I also love that you are able to share other department playbooks with everyone so that Teams have a clear overview of everyone's responsibilities and what is expected of them. Trainuals customer service and community is super helpful and I regularly find myself reading through what other people have posted to learn more about the features we have access to. They implementation Team is always looking for new ideas and very happy to take on suggestions from the users. #### Cons Sometimes the mobile app is a bit slow and it doesn't have all the features that the computer version has - we have a lot of Team members on the ground that use the mobile app and rely on it for information while on sites. #### Reasons for choosing Trainual Trainual's technology fitted very well with our tech as a Proptech company. Trainual has enabled us to do this in a way that engages our audience much more. It has received great feedback from our new hires during the onboarding process. #### Cons Although it's still a new feature, I've encountered some personal issues with uploading a video directly to Trainual for hosting. It will say it may take up to 10 minutes, but do not go anywhere. Its been an extremely great experience. I have had [sensitive content hidden] who have helped me get implemented on trainaul and then after implementation the follow ups have been great. Trainual is very user friendly and allows you to manage your employees training and onboarding in one place. The AI is a great feature to being able to ask a question and have the AI pull from all published content on Trainual is very useful and it even links where the employee can find the content. #### Cons Importing documents, require formatting. Somethings are harder to get on than others. Though I found some work arounds that make it easier. Content types you could create were limited, management of access & users was mediocre, and wasn't very helpful or easy for end-users. Acknowledgements currently go to the "reports to" or, if no direct report listed, the Billing Admin. It also provides a great way to get people to complete training before being eligible for raises and promotions. I like how I can track the progress of my team, and quiz them to ensure comprehension, as well as the different media I can implement to help drive home certain points. #### Cons The pricing model that does not include all of the features unless you pay the premium right off the bat. It takes a long time to get all of the systems into Trainual, and I am not able to release it right away to my team so I didnt want to pay the premium if they were not going to be able to access the features right away. I will probably upgrade to the premium later on and revamp my lessons, but I am a bit conflicted about having my team go through re-training at that point just to see some flashy new features that I would have liked to implement at the beginning. #### Reasons for choosing Trainual It seemed to be the best fit for our company and it was recommended by moving companies in another market that use it. #### Reasons for switching to Trainual Because of the ability to track and quiz applicants and team members and make a more user friendly portal for them. #### Vendor response Hi Wade! Trainual is a fantastic tool that allows us to standardize our procedures and not rely on generational teaching among our staff. I do see how it could be expensive for a new small business to start using the tool because the new prices are very expensive, but as stated, we've been grandfathered in. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 5/5 - Value for money: 3/5 - Customer support: 4/5 - Functionality: 4/5 #### Pros Trainual allows us to easily write down our processes and establish norms across my team and business. It's constantly improving and adding features that are actually useful in documenting or making that documentation more accessible for the team. Even off platform, they innovated buttons that you can tap with your phone to bring up a preset process. We've used the platform for a while, and they've always grandfathered us into the appropriate pricing/feature tier with our previous pricing, so it hasn't been too expensive for us. Writing documentation is easy with their tools (AI, PDF imports, GIFs, etc.), and the interface is easy to navigate on desktop. Reporting is super useful to keep track of who's read/been trained on what. #### Cons Our biggest struggle is outside of Trainual but it's getting our team to adopt and use Trainual instead of asking others what to do for processes. Trainual is just too on the peripheral for our business currently. Part of what causes that is the confusing interface on mobile. The mobile app and site make finding processes a little difficult with the general library of knowledge existing in a separate place that what get's shown on the dashboard, essentially creating two separate spaces where the processes exist and the dashboard version sometimes is more difficult to navigate. #### Vendor response Thank you for your detailed feedback, Derek! The biggest business problem solved with using Trainual is outdated processes and procedures being used and "passed around" due to hard copies being saved. These hard copies would sometimes have hand written notes by team members of when the processes changes, but would be hard to follow. With Trainual, we are able to keep everything up to date quickly. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 4/5 - Functionality: 4/5 #### Pros Trainual's ease of searching and editing as an administrator is one of my favorite features. To be able to search for any subject, topic, test, etc. and find all associated trainings and topics with that field is amazing. This is a time saver when trying to help my team.Being able to edit an existing topic and training and have it instantly available to my team is another key feature when our processes change. This has helped with any outdated information that a team member could have had with hardcopies of training material. #### Cons In some instances, if a member does not have the proper access, they are unable to see all available topics when they search. It takes an administrator to search and assign the topic or show the team member the material.It can be time consuming to get everything in to Trainual, at first. Once everything is documented, though, it is easier to keep updated. #### Vendor response Hey, Trezlynn! Thanks so much for sharing your review. Your team is lucky to have a manager that cares about their success in this way. Super awesome news - we just released an update a few weeks ago that enables content to be searchable and access to be requested without the need to perform this manually for your employees. Head to the Account settings page and toggle on the option to "Publish content libraries." Be sure you've toggled on the options to share the Company and Policies pages with your team, too! Then they can search and request access on their own. Additionally, you can use the AI tool in Trainual to write a rough draft of your processes to save a ton of time! As we build this plane while flying it, we appreciate how easy it is to write down what we are doing so it is easier next time. Prior to Trainual, sometimes I felt like MacGruber holding things together with a paperclip and a gum wrapper based on my memory or other team member's institutional knowledge and now we can capture it all, sometimes in the moment. We plan to be using Trainual indefinitely. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 5/5 - Value for money: 5/5 - Customer support: 5/5 - Functionality: 4/5 #### Pros There are many things that I like the most about this software that have to do with features, but I think the features would not be useful if the platform wasn't designed with a foundation of a solid understanding of how small businesses function and scale. So, to start with, I love the philosophy and approach of Trainual as a company and the team as humans. Trickling down from there, the platform is designed that way - it is clear it is flexibly designed, but kept intuitive, and thoughtfully updated with feature requests that have the greatest impact across their users. The organization of the content makes it easy to jump right in to get something created along with the template gallery helping to streamline it all. #### Cons I have two suggestions that are specific to how we use the platform, and I have submitted these are requests so I know they are in the hopper: 1) make the directory accessible through the mobile app. Often times when we hire new people, that is what we want them to be able to access and they are doing everything from their phones before they are in our workplace. 2) update the time stamping to track each time a subject/topic/step is completed for each employee. More Specifically, when you have to provide documentation to the department of labor for unemployment claims they may request evidence of the days/times that you asked someone to complete and then review a policy. In trainual, only the reviewed date is saved so you lose the evidence of the initial completion date. It makes onboarding and training quick, easy and less stressful. #### Cons The sections could use some flexibility for customizing for our company reference areas. SOP's vs. Policies vs. Training vs. Documentation. It gets confusing where to put all of the stuff. I also don't even know much about some of the features in the Trainual from this survey. Finally, if you want to become an absolute invaluable resource that we can NEVER live without, then assign a rep that we can work with to maximize and assess usage and direct us on how to manage, organize and leverage the tool. On the content organization customization side, you can actually rename the "Company", "Policies", and "Processes" sections to any names that make more sense for your business. To do that, go to "Account Settings" from the top navigation, and then scroll down to "Custom Terminology". From there, you'll be able to rename the Trainual terminology to anything you'd like. In regards to having your own representative, for Scale accounts that are over 50 users, we do assign those customers with a dedicated rep that is there to help you get set up for success.
