PROS

Every feature here is best. I like mostly creating a product. Creating a product and maintaining its stock is very easy.

CONS

Generating coupons could be a little better.

Highly Flexible Integrated Online Marketplace

SHUUP offers complete flexibility in its marketplace platform. Our organization requires a unique hierarchy, multi-level access, and custom payment and transfer setup. The SHUUP team is knowledgable in all aspects of building out a marketplace and was able to not only guide our decision in third-party integration but build the platform within the time, scope and budget we allotted. The development team is easy to work with, quick to respond and understanding. We've launched the MVP of our platform and I cannot wait to dive into more enhancements with the SHUUP Team.

PROS

SHUUPS Marketplace platform is agnostic to third-party integrations. The development team has been able to integrate with as many third-party partners and as custom as we would like. It's truly a custom-built platform. The team offers a template that's very user friendly but they also have the ability to redesign to your liking.

CONS

Building out a system like the marketplace we implemented with SHUUP was new to our organization so naturally we did have a few hurdles mostly stemming from business analysis and processes. Working with our third-party partners and sellers the SHUUP team has made themself available to advise on business calls. The two areas I see for improvement are web traffic analytics and overall site reporting some of this difficulty might come from our SSO integration and multiple custom versions of our marketplace per region.

Shuup is good if you like speed dating!!!

1) Working with Shuup is like going on a speed date. The main goal of the project manager is to get through his/her brief within the allotted time which leaves little time for customer questions. It seems as though the project managers are penalized if they go over the time allotted for the meeting. After each call, we always felt that non of our concerns or request was addressed and that Shuup simple repeated their same pitch or recommended training. 2) Shuup does not clearly distinguish between out-of-the-box options vs fully customized options. 3) We stated three times that we wanted our storefront developed by a Shuup developer. Each time, Shuup recommended training--once again ignoring the customers' request. We scheduled a call which we thought included the storefront discovery and design but quickly discovered this was yet another training session on how we can do it ourselves. What are we paying for? Training. 4) After multiple training sessions, we only saw "examples" and no one ever took time to gather our design requirements, expectations, or customization. Our experience has been frustrating--like a hamster on a wheel going nowhere.

PROS

Shuup has some great out-of-the-box features that are beneficial to all marketplaces. Choose the out-of-the-box option and test it out before upgrading to the fully customized option. It will save you a lot of money.

CONS

It is important that customers know that Shuup sells the backend of the marketplace. Any storefront development must be done by the store owner or Shuup developers at an additional cost. Customizing the storefront isn't as easy as Shopify or Bigcommerce. It is time-consuming and complicated. Unlike other, e-commerce platforms, Shuup does not have many templates to choose from. The available templates are not appealing and little effort was put into the actual designs and layouts.

I would recommend Shuup as the Software Developers of Choice

PROS

I have worked with Shuup between 6-12 months and my experience so far has been outstanding. From Sales through to Development and Support they have gone above and beyond to build out a bespoke Marketplace Platform to match my complex requirements and value for money has been on point. From the outset Shuup took the time to understand my goals and ideas and worked very closely with me to build a responsive website that has met the needs for my business. The team have been very flexible with changes that I have requested during sprints but also honest if not possible. They always have a solution or a suggestion to help improve your features which have always been welcomed. I look forward to working with Shuup for the foreseeable future and very happy to be partnering with such a great team.

Amazing Solution After a Long Search

They've been a great help, I started not only with the exiting platform but with additional customization and development hours for front-end and back-end features. They've been extremely helpful and very responsive, very understanding of our goals, and have also encouraged new ones and found solutions during our collaboration online and over the phone. They have a great team, I would recommend them o anyone looking for a smart and hard-working team that gets done with they promise, great service and company.

PROS

The best part of this platform is the existing tools and growing index, it was exactly what we needed when it comes to a marketplace and had just about everything already in place for our extensive needs.

CONS

I don't think there is anything I don't like, everything is adjustable, and it works one way or another with simple adaptation, all you have to do is get used to the interface which took less time than I initially thought.

Our experience with Shuup

Our Product Manager was absolutely terrible. Unorganized, unprepared on meetings, poor knowledge of the software, after our site went live she completely cut us off without any assistance. Extremely horrible experience. The support team is good and fast to respond.

PROS

Customisable HTML/CSS &Javascript that was not available in any similar softwares. Sales Teams offered a lot of great features that could be easily customised. Front end can be completely designed.

CONS

The software has a lot of limitations and the development team is very slow. A few bugs that were promised to be fixed by the end of the week, such as a calendar popup took over 4 weeks to fix, and still isn't fixed. Translations are an absolute disaster. You have to pay an addition 1000$+ in order to get another language, it takes forever for the translations to be pushed. You have to use an external software Transifex to translate the words and not all words are even available to translate. Waste of money and did not get what we wanted or what the sales team promised. Overall Sales team is selling you great things and the development team is not delivering.

They build around your needs

I enjoyed the working experience, communication and delivery to performance so much I brought to them another development platform much larger than my original one. I have already recommended them to other business associates. Good rates, great service, they listen, they ask lots of questions, they aim to provide you exactly what you want and if it will cost a little bit more, they are up front and honest about the extra costs and the challenges that bring them to those extra costs, otherwise known as honesty.

PROS

The software is simplistic in design and function but robust in the power from behind the scenes. Once I got the hand of setting up vendors on my platform I was able to customize it according to my vendors and consumers needs. The look and feel of the site is not over the top, is easy to navigate and provides my market with an easy to use application.

CONS

Steep learning curve, lots and lots of understanding what controls do what affecting what in the end result the consumer and the vendor sees. I wish there was a detailed back end store setup platform that identifies which attributes or platforms or modifiers affect different categories in what the consumer/vendor sees.

Excellent experience with Shuup

My overall experience with Shuup has been positive. I have learnt a lot and enjoyed the development process.

PROS

The most impressive features of the Shuup multivendor system is its customisation to business needs and requirements. The customer service and tech support is provided by multiple people so punctuality to solving problems or answering questions is on point.

CONS

The systems are quite difficult to learn though once you master them, they are a very useful tool. To learn the systems was fully supported by customer service and came together quite quickly.

Shuup: Online multi vendor platform

I have not explored much about shuup so but overall seems fine. It is little hard to learn at first. I prefer using Shopify as alternative.

PROS

Both stripe and paypal payment is available and they are easy to use. I like the UI (mainly Admin panel) of Shuup.

CONS

I was not able to figure out the things in there. So maybe first user would not be familiar soon with the system. It was difficult to get and utilization the API key.
