RecDesk is a cloud-based recreation management solution that helps users create customized forms for membership registration and management. The solution caters to recreational and nonprofit organizations such as municipal recreation departments, churches, community centers, activity-focused nonprofits and more.

RecDesk’s key features include online registration, program management, scheduling, billing and invoicing, online reservations, membership management and league management, among others.

RecDesk’s Flexform feature allows users to design online registration forms and checkout pipelines for desktop and mobile users. The solution also lets members check-in using barcodes or a manual method.

RecDesk offers fee structures for both open-ended as well as fixed-duration membership models. Users can include custom packages for individual and group members.

RecDesk’s community portal is built on a content management system that supports multiple pages, full control over the content, document uploads and more. The vendor provides email and phone support to the customers.

Moving to RecDesk immediately improved customer usage.

Very good. Our customer satisfaction and retention is much higher. We're able to collect back-end data that helps to formulate our marketing tasks. Control for registration openings/closings is in place Customer service has been extremely reliable and quick to solve any issues.

Pros:

The product was easy to use for staff who must create the forms, registration options, and update back-end requirements while the product was easy to use for the customer. We have grown to appreciate this software even more as upgrades have been made and new features added.

Cons:

The only module that didn't fulfill our needs fully was the league module. We have shared our needs with RecDesk on this module, especially for double-header scheduling and allowing more parameters for team needs to help generate the schedule.

Reasons for choosing RecDesk

We looked at six companies to include testing each of them using the test sites. We dove deeply into fees, credit card modules, base costs + alternate options, and did reference checks with firms using the various software modules.

Pros:

Easy, Easy, Easy! Everything is easy once set up it established. Learning the system is literally a breeze. I love the 'Resources' (how-to lookup) tab which is always visible when using RecDesk. Customer Service is AMAZING! Everyone is super friendly and everyone is willing to share all their knowledge.

Cons:

Setting up Bulk Email Campaigns is easy; however, you have to enter a different 'campaign' every time you'd like to send an email. You can schedule ahead, but, I do hope a 'copy' function is added in this module to easily re-announce the programs (i.e.: registration ends soon, registration ends tomorrow, etc.).

Ease in navigating and manipulating the product/modules; everything is 'at-a-glance' and the short-cuts built in to each page is a fabulous toggling tool!

Reasons for switching to RecDesk

Previous administration was not pleased with the functionality. I never delved into SportsEngine so I can't say for sure the downfalls.

RecDesk is extremely helpful in bringing any Parks and Recreation department into the 21st-Century with a suite of services & tools that will help you come into the digital age. From online registrations, to great POS options, this program is an all-in-one solution to your managament woes!

Cons:

While RecDesk will be there for you every step of the way to help you learn the in's and out's of their system, it might prove difficult for some to brave the learning curve the software asks for to fully take advantage of everyhting it has to offer.

Pros:

This software is by far the easiest software for new staff to learn quickly. With so many part timers, and a high level of seasonal and part time turnover, its important that the basic functions be easy to learn and figure out. Its the most intuitive software to use on an admin level, and our customers also find it to be easy to figure out. The basics are basic enough for new staff to figure out.

Cons:

Once you become proficent in the basics, the more advanced functions are convoluted and could be cleaner. We dislike the Export to Excel, would prefer a report that generates a PDF. In the export, it creates a list and you have to remove categories in excel, instead of being able to toggle the desired categories in the system before generating the report. When data entering programs, we would like a report to confirm what was inputted instead of having to go through each tab individually. When creating programs, its frustrating to have to keep saving on every tab and also every individual date that it added. We want to do payment plans but it doesn't let you mass enroll into a payment plan, you have to individually set it up for each registration. Once parents put in their own emergency forms, they cannot go back in and update the information without registering for another program.

price, customer service, RecDesk's willingness to hear us and meet our requests. It didn't feel like we had to fit their system, but more like they wanted to hear us and fit what we needed.

Pros:

\- Programs management and how easy it is to create them. Love the feature of "create one just like this" - saves us so much time! - I personally LOVE flex forms and we utilize this for many different programs. I higly recommend that people use Flex Forms. - The dashboard is a great tool when you want to see any changes quickly that have happened recently. I like to use this after a program is posted or after sharing the registrations to see popular times people sign up and how many.

Cons:

\- I wish we could also search by first name - It would also be nice to add photos for promotional purposes in the programs

I am not sure if that is the right one - it was "Traxsolutions" by NFocus. It was not very user friendly and had a lot of obstacles when it came to creating programs and registrations

It's so much easier than using our old system. It's more user friendly and it's easier to navigate through the system

Cons:

Certain reports we were able to generate on our old system are not available or you need to run multiple reports to generate the same information. Made some requests for these changes.

Ease of use and cost of the program. Customer support is great! Emails are answered quickly and followed up with a phone call, if necessary.

The cost for a cloud based program with them was expensive and the program was more than what we needed for our daily operation

I have had an abundantly positive experience with Rec Desk. The system is easy to learn, and we are given all the right resources to make the process happen. My positive experience is especially attributed to the team of people who make it all happen! I have always had a contact that was reachable by the send of an email or the schedule of a meeting. I have not once felt like I was left to fend for myself, even when it came to fixing the most minor technical errors. Knowing I can rely on the Rec Desk team to assist me in my programming efforts has really impacted my experience in a positive way!

Pros:

I love the ease of organization and communication. Prior to Rec Desk I spent lots of time digging for information through rosters and spread sheets. Rec Desk keeps important information at an arm's reach and easy to organize or reorganize as needed!

Cons:

I do not like the how "as is" Rec Desk comes. I would hope for more customizable features. Such as changing information in rosters, giving the directors a choice on what can be made mandatory or non-mandatory, and a more flexible instructor's page. I would also like to see more options for displaying programs and events and their advertisements.

Reasons for switching to RecDesk

Our old software was not user friendly or director friendly. They lost track of finances, there was a charge for every time we needed to reach out to their team for help, and we had very limited control over our own website features.

Couldn't Live Without It!

Our experience with RecDesk has been phenomenal. I can't imagine anyone having better customer service. The RecDesk team is always so patient even when I ask the dumbest questions. New enhancements are always rolling out, and they always take into consideration improvements you would like to see. A++

Pros:

The ease of online registration is the best! I can't imagine going back to pen and paper. It's so easy to get practice/game schedules to everyone. Rescheduling a rain out is literally the click of a button. Drafting teams is so easy along with immediately being able to give coaches a team roster.

Cons:

Everything is pretty great although I wish there was a RecDesk app!

Wish more of our old data exported into RecDesk was able to be transitioned, like postal codes.
