A safe and secured nest for planning, harnessing resources and deploying in full force
I was first invited to VoterVoice by a colleague on a campaign to improve support given to international students during and after their studies. Even though it was not a grand campaign, I marveled at how effective it was at garnering support, sourcing donations, and pulling off a well-patronized protest walk. In less than a week, we had collected more than twice the number of signatures required to force a hearing, which resulted in 8 out of 10 of our demands being accepted. This experience with VoterVoice was one of the first profound experiences that pushed me into a career in the non-profit sector.
PROSThe reports generated are very easy to understand and focus on the most critical actionable data points. In most software, I would complain about the relatively limited options for customizing the outputs to suit each campaign's metrics of interest, but with VoterVoice, I can say with absolute confidence that it has been built to perfection. Coordinators can therefore act promptly and in real time to coordinate field resources and communications to advocates to remedy problem areas.
CONSThe datasets available are quite limited and in most cases not updated. The research teams should do more to expand the data repository, particularly in light of the fast evolving social landscape and social campaigns deployed around the world.

Great fit for our federated structure
Excellent and attentive customer service!
PROSEasy to use. Ideal for setting up 1 or at most 2-click alerts. Also, as a large federated association with 150+ chapters, the weekly testing of email addresses is very helpful.
CONSWe use the plugin on our main site, and some more flexibility on eliminating some areas woudl be helpful

a good tool for engaging our members
the ability to engage members and track legislation in one place. However, the functionality could be improved to be more user friendly. There are so many tools we don't use because we don't know how.
CONStools do not flow well and often difficult to function as one. example: engagements through social media are separate from email engagements. Should be able to do all in one form and check the types of engagements you'd like

Great advocacy resource
Great team, good customer service and support.
PROSAdvocate mapping software is fantastic, and I find the survey functionality very helpful.
CONSI can't wait for FiscalNote to be compatible with information/broadcasts from VoterVoice. This integration is underway, and I am looking forward to future capabilities.

Love VoterVoice
We love using the tool and look forward to additional modernization. I think More training would be useful.

VoterVoice
I like the Advocacy Campaigns, the reporting, how easy it is to use, customer service, connects with your website and Social Media. I like how VoterVoice connects the Zip and county of each individual's address. There is so much that I like.
CONSThe cons is VoterVoice doesn't connect to our CRM. We email from our CRM, so we can track each individual's action with our organization. But, our CRM doesn't have an Advocacy section. So, we use VoterVoice. When we run a campaign, we have to download the constituents who sent message and then compare those people to our CRM. Once we've removed all our current constituents, then we upload all the new constituents. This could takes days depending how many people have taken action.

Amazing tool!
Voter Voice allows us to function like "the Great Oz." In other words, with a small team and a large membership, we can appear as staff to be more powerful and present.
PROSThe software is very user friendly and extremely robust. We have pushed the limits and it has risen to the challenge every time. It is dynamic and customizable.
CONSMapping is good, but I would love to see additional mapping capabilities.

Top Notch Advocacy Platform
My experience has been terrific. The system is intuitive and did not require significant training. The staff has been highly responsive to questions and feedback. And the webinars have been informative. Next year, I am going to look at using the app for our annual DC advocacy event. One of the biggest benefits of VoterVoice has been the ability to track the growth of our advocacy network and how our members share the campaigns with their connections.
PROSIt makes advocacy easy for both the administrator and the user. The system walks me through posting background materials and messaging and then with just a few clicks a user/advocate can send a message to their elected representatives. It even allows for personalizing a message. The system has allowed us to elevate our advocacy program. Engaging more of our members and providing us with metrics to measure our efforts.
CONSI haven't experienced any downsides to VoterVoice. Our challenge has been that its been easier to engage our members around federal issues than state issues but I think with more use we will engage more members with state level campaigns.

One of the things we liked about VoterVoice is that is was developed in our region, we like supporting "local" businesses. While the business has gone national, we very much appreciate that their is staff in the region ready to assist us.

Excellent Advocacy Tool
VoterVoice is easy to use. A lot of thought has gone into the interface. If you run legislative advocacy campaigns, you can be up and running in a short time with everything you need to send out messages to your supporters, deliver messages (emails, text messages, phone calls and social posts) to elected officials, and get reports on performance. The company takes deliverability seriously. The support team is very responsive.
CONSThis platform does not offer fundraising or event registration. There are some limits to how you can customize the layout on the front end.

Terrible support, doesn't truly integrate to Salesforce
If you want it as a standalone product, you might find it somewhat useful. It's still not intuitive to use, but the features on the front end at least work.
CONSSpent 6 months trying to get the data to sync to Salesforce, so we could see representatives in salesforce. They screwed up the data the first time and had no roll back or delete option, so we had to start a whole new site. The 2nd time the data stopped syncing after 80k advocates, and they never solved it. They just stopped answering our emails at support.

Great for digital advocacy on federal and state issues
I've really loved working with the votervoice team. They have great customer service, and are always expanding and getting better. They are also substantially lower in cost than comparable platforms. As a non-profit, that goes a long way.
PROSLow cost, high impact. Range of tools is very extensive - from blog, legislative bill tracking, support or oppose campaigns, etc, it's great software for advocacy groups.
CONSDoes not have the ability to do twitter only digital campaigns. In order to get grassroots supporters to take action via twitter to elected officials, they have to click the twitter link at the bottom of page next to "send letter".

I like the ability to create custom targets for my campaign, and the customer service from VoterVoice frequently assists me in creating successful campaigns that we can use for outreach.
CONSThe constiuency rules (IE can't send to a representative outside of your district) make committee work complicated but the customer support team is always very helpful in navigating this challenge.

PROSI've been using votervoice for 10+ years. My firm was an eari adopter of the tool and e-advocacy campaigns. The tool was relatively easy to learn and you have great customer service.
CONSNo real cons that I've experienced. I've had occasional setup problems, but customer service took care of the issues quickly.

VoterVoice Gets Results
VoterVoice is easy to maintain and keep up to date. I use it often to look up individuals' Legislators for them and I don't even have to go to the Government website to do so because all that information is right at my fingertips with VoterVoice. It has also helped our Association become more recognized in the State Legislator because more and more of our members are using the email when an issue arises that we contact our members about.
PROSThe ease for the user to respond to any Call to Action is wonderful!!! A couple of clicks and our members have contacted their Legislators instantly.
CONSSince we do not use the software on a daily or even weekly basis, just setting up a campaign is sometimes confusing on where to set it up based on the type of message we are sending.

Great Value!
While we love to grow advocacy campaigns into long term projects, it's a great program for advocacy groups with immediate and potentially short term needs.
PROSThe low cost and different pricing options makes this a great option to recommend to clients. It's not overly customizable but that also lends itself to ease of use and clarity in options. I also love how easy it is to select targets for letters from lists of senators, government agencies, and more.
CONSIt doesn't work well with pixels and tracking when embedding on other landing pages. It also is not clear when trying to view performance or pull reports. What exactly is a recipient? Why does that number not line up with messages? How many messages were sent per day/per hour? This is all helpful when optimizing a campaign and explaining results to end clients which in turn makes them more happy to spend money on VV campaigns.

VoterVoice is Powerful, Easy to Use, If a Little Dated
Overall, we've had a very positive experience with VoterVoice. It would be nice if FiscalNote and VoterVoice were better integrated so that bill tracking would automatically be shown on the front-facing advocacy site.
PROSThe software is fairly easy to use. As a one-person government affairs shop, ease of use is important and VoterVoice makes setting up action alerts for our grassroots activists fairly simple. Set up takes only a few minutes if your content is pre-written and targeting specific lawmakers is relatively intuitive. For those times when it's a little confusing to set-up a complicated alert, the support team at VoterVoice is exceptional.
CONSThe software looks a little dated for the price tag and some of the database language used is not language that I've encountered before making an error message a little cumbersome. Customization of advocacy site must be done by the support team which can be frustrating if you just want a small change made.

CQ Engage was very powerful but too complicated to use, VoterVoice helped us streamline our grassroots processes in a way that Engage could not.

Highly Recommend VoterVoice
VoterVoice is a great product with a lot of capabilities. it's easy to understand, simple to manage and update. Very user-friendly! Also the staff at VoterVoice is really helpful and responsive to varying needs or concerns.
PROSIt is a perfect platform for reaching out to elected officials- our users find the software easy to use, and as an admin, not is simple to manage and run from the back end.
CONSThere were a few things we were unable to accomplish with the software, but the team at VoterVoice connected us with the right third party software needed to accomplish our goals!

Honest Review
We use Voter Voice to activate our members to respond to a legislative alert.
PROSI have always appreciate the value of a platform that allows associations to activate their members quickly and makes it easy for them to take action. Voter Voice fills that need for our association. It's easy to set-up a campaign even if you are only occasionally needing the system.
CONSWe would appreciate having access to more of the features that Voter Voice offers at the basic price.

It's relatively easy to use. Uploading contacts has been largely worry-free through the unique ID.
CONSThe terminology, "target" can be confusing since we're composing messages that are for both our membership and the legislature. So, generally both groups are "targets." I think something like, "message to supporter/stakeholder" could be used for referring to sending to our members, with something like "message to decision-maker" being the label for the final intended destination.

Great product
It's been a great product for us; customer service is outstanding. We just haven't been using it lately because the focus of our advocacy work is changing.
PROSthe way in which the backend data (who is in office, which committees legislators are on, etc.) was always up-to-date, correct, etc.; we always knew we could rely on it.
CONSsometimes it felt like there were a lot of steps to get a campaign set up; maybe that has been streamlined since we last used it.

Excellent Software and customer service
The customer service is fantastic! Whenever I email with a question, a team member gets back to me in a timely manner with a detailed answer. They are always looking for solutions to help make my communication easier and better with my members.
PROSI can easily update and maintain my member's information. This is so important especially when we need to do an advocacy campaign.

User Friendly Software to Activate Your Membership
Our membership wants an easy, accessible way to engage in our grassroots advocacy program and contact legislators on issues they care about. VoterVoice gives our organization a way to do that, and for that reason we really view it as a membership benefit and service.
PROSVoterVoice is user-friendly, plugs in easily to your organization's social media and website, and comes with a number of features to help with Capitol Days, events, press communications, and legislative tracking.
CONSThe challenge with all constituent communications platforms like VoteVoice is that oftentimes email communications are ignored by legislative staff or sent to spam folders. To avoid this issue, we've started doing customized call to actions and using more phone scripts.

We've used VoterVoice to inform more than 7,400 members about advocacy efforts, ongoing legislative initiatives, and to engage them in helping support work on their behalf with state and federal elected and appointed officials. Any time we've had questions or difficulties, the staff of VoterVoice have been handy, ready to help, and have quickly solved our questions for us.
PROSThe simplicity of choosing targets, uploading contacts, and revising contacts all make this simple to adopt. The directions as you set up various types of campaigns allows you to customize messages, audiences and actions with ease.
CONSAt times, we have had to revise programs and target audiences on the go. But easily solved.
