I love Mydoma Studio!

Overall I really like the simplicity & ease of use; the learning curve doesn’t take that long; love, love, love the live & online support & speed in answering questions; the video tutorials; and how the share information on the business side of design through video interviews & workshops. You actually feel as if you are part of a design team of like minded people with similar goals & objectives.

PROS

I love much this software “gets” and supports what professional interior designers need in their project workflow. Mydoma studio gives us an easy way to document everything needed in each client’s project file which includes individual Client project files, notes & checklists, proposals, vendor & client lists, docs & files just to name a few. Also being able to access files from any computer & having the ability to share files & information with clients & contractors is awesome. The software & system is close to perfect and I have tried many others that fall short. The team at Mydoma is open to hearing how they can improve the software & actually implement changes based on designer’s recommendations.

CONS

Calendar only uploads the link on my Mac; takes a long time to upload photos due to the ability to load only a very limited # of photos at a time;

Because it is very close to having a physical client file/binder & that is a great feature. So much more than just a to do list things or a list of things that of been done. It’s a working platform

Reasons for switching to Mydoma Studio

The other program did not work for me at all. Yes you were able to input information but you were not really able to work with that information beyond putting it in the system. Mydoma on the other hand is a working solution. I can use it every day. It doesn’t just document what I’ve done or what I need to do I can actually use it as a working tool within my business.

Unmatchable experience

Excellent!

PROS

That everything now is in one place, completely organized, no more wasting time finding e-mails or preparing invoices. Mydoma streamlined my process and made everything look more professional. Their customer service team is superb with all that the word means.

CONS

It is only at the beginning that you get used to everything, that takes some time to get used to the interface, the logic, and the sequence of how to do everything inside your project but the help team is available all the time and always prompt to solve any problem

It looked way more professional. The feedback from all designers was amazing too. On the other hand, the feedback on Houzz was terrible. I was lucky to join Mydoma

So sad

I used to love it. I was heart broken when I created a guest user account to see what the end user experience was like. It is not conducive to my business. I am heartbroken that after three years I will have to switch to a new platform. Also, I know some designers are stoked about the renderings, but I pay a lot of money for Cad software and computers to use it. I do not need this. Focus on what you were meant to be. Honestly. This has me so upset I lay awake at night about it sad. I will be looking for a new software platform. (Unless I can keep my doma previous version).

PROS

The previous version. I loved my Doma and tried to get other designers to use it.

CONS

Now. I do not like that all of the unused features appear on the clients page --- the entire menu on the left. I do not like that I cannot see when clients have logged in. I do not like that the clients' page has a giant task box on it ( our work is not their job / to do list). I do not like the views they are CUMBERSOME to manage.

At the moment there is no way to know if a client is logged in but great news we are already working on this! The task section is where your client can easily see items pertaining to their project. Things such as "you have an invoice ready for payment" or "you have a contract that needs to be signed" are noted here. Clients can also communicate with you and your team, sign paperwork, and even process a payment! Views provide designers complete control over the information their clients, team members, contractors, receiver, etc see. You can decide what information is shared. Mydoma Studio review: a must-have for interior designers

Mydoma Studio's customer care is second to none, and I'm thoroughly impressed with them and their variety of learning resources for users/ designers.I have tried a few similar programs and have enjoyed using Mydoma the most- incorporating visualisation into my service offering, particularly video walk-throughs, has elevated my business.

PROS

I've only really used the visualiser.I really enjoy the variety of the model library, as well as the post-render editing functions available.My favourite part is the video walk-through function- clients love it!While dabbling with the rest of Mydoma Studio, I like how easy it is to add products into a product library.

CONS

I'm still trying to learn the rest of Mydoma Studio, as above- as much as I like the task manager idea, it would be much more helpful (for me) to have a calendar view, and ultimately to integrate this calendar with my regular email calendar function.

The incredible offer at the time- having a visualiser and a CRM program in one was an offer I couldn't refuse.

Keeps my interior design business organized!

Overall it’s been great at keeping me organized and tracking products for my projects.

PROS

Great for organizing projects and clients, keeping track of products and orders, and having everything organized in one easy system I can refer back to at any time.

CONS

I find it difficult to track my actual profit when it comes to furniture discount and markup. There is nothing in the system to tell me a quick overall profit without downloading the entire file.

Mydoma Studio Review

Mydoma is a great company to do business with. They are so helpful with learning their software, they answer questions quickly and completely. And they seem to care about my containing education in the design field, which to me means they are further developing themselves to better serve the design community.

PROS

This software allows my business to run more efficiently by communicating with clients, tracking my time and organizing job specifications all in one place.

CONS

I would love a mobile app where I can easily put Client notes while on the job site. So each meeting, whether it's with the clients or a contractor, all of my notes can be in the same place. I'd also love to be able to customize the look of invoices, purchase orders and even tear sheets. As a designer, everything the client sees influences them on my credibility and brand. I'd love to be able to make what is visible to the client even more customizable to my company aesthetic.

Reasons for switching to Mydoma Studio

This program was more professional in appearance and the personal library of items is an amazing resource to have. As a designer I put a lot of work into the appearance of what I give clients. This includes everything from invoices to Item Lists. Using a program that can house all of that and look professional and be design worthy and represent my brand was important to me.

Interior Design Studio Review

I switched to Mydoma because I was an Edesign member and love using their software. When they merged I gave Mydoma a shot and although there's a learning curve it does help with client projects. Customer service is awesome and I just know they'll make updates to the system that will make it even more project friendly.

PROS

Pros of Mydoma is being able to have everything in one place for a client project. I like that they offer an app version and that I can upload all the projects designs, information and renders right into the project rather than emailing.

CONS

There can definitely be an improvement in the moodboard capacity. It is incredibly limited in everything. I'd love to be able to create mood and concept boards like I can in Canva. It would also help to be able to see when clients login, sign in and can track their activity so I'm not constantly having to ask if they signed in to look at certain things. I'd also love to be able to create proposals and document workflows (like lead gathering, subscriptions on my website) and contracts right in Mydoma like I can do in dubsado. Really looking for the software that is the one stop shop.

Best program to integrate more robust programs into for your team!

Since using the program, I find it much easier to use a bridge between my book keeper and her software. Also, the layout and rendering options are great. Everything else can be imported so you can truely have a virtual project folder, even the Gnat Chart. To be able to email from the program and client activity is still needed.

PROS

The ease of use and it's versatility to tailor it to my comapany has been an asset.

CONS

The internal costing needs to be developed, however the time tracking is great.

Reason for choosing Mydoma Studio

I use automation for repetitive tasks. I already had configured them and had them in Click Up, however, building in Click-Up was all consuming. It was just easier joining this platform. I was also familiar with [sensitive content hidden] company and when she merged with My Doma, It really was the best of both worlds.

Reasons for switching to Mydoma Studio

At the time DF didn't have as robust of a layout tool as My Doma, Also the online packages are an asset.

Overall Very Useful Software, Keeps Me Organized

Overall I am very happy. This has helped my overall process run more quickly and smoothly and keeps everything pretty well organized.

PROS

I like that I can upload product directly into the project it applies to. It's great that my clients can login to see the details of product I am proposing.

CONS

I feel like some functions are clunky. For instance with a PO, I can't hide the trade pricing before I send it to a vendor (if I have presearched or have a quote from another source) and so this confuses them when I am requesting pricing bc they see I have pricing. I feel like there is also a lot of back and forth, for instance to correct something on an invoice often times I have to go into the project to correct and go back to the invoice. Oftentimes there are a lot of unnecessary steps. I also wish I could write proposals and contracts on MyDoma instead of just uploading. Then I could use this for everything.

Happy with MyDoma

The support team at MyDoma has been a dream and are always there to help when you need it. The setup process was challenging, and I still find that I'm trying to figure out how to make the software work best for me, but overall it has helped to improve my business. I wish I didn't have to do so many "workarounds", however, and that the software had more features to solve some of the issues I've encountered (examples: being able to enter a deposit amount and have invoices deduct from it, rather than having to have this all on a singular invoice. Being able to accept bank transfers in Canada. Use of packages without requirement of purchase online. Ability to delete projects rather than just archive.

PROS

I love that I can easily track my time and include information on how I used the time. When added to an invoice, I find that it provides full transparency to my clients on how their dollars are being spent.

CONS

I wish that there were more payment options available in Canada, and that tax rates were auto-applied.

Very happy overall, as it has made my job easier and has also allowed me to offer edesign

Able to submit deliverables, get approvals, send out invoices without losing track of everything

CONS

The user interface. Design is not very intuitive, so confusing or tedious to use (like the sorting feature, or that the projects cannot be sorted the way you want)

The update is less user friendly

We used to love it but now we don't like it and are looking for other options.

PROS

All of the design and client info is in one program and it is online.

CONS

Our clients have trouble navigating, it is slow and harder to use. All of the original features we used daily are non-existent.

Mydoma Review

Mydoma is my favorite 'team member' and my clients LOVE IT! I am so happy with the service, my only wish is that it had an accounting system integrated like Studio Designer.

PROS

I love the whole platform and the ease of use for me and my clients.

CONS

Would love an option for SALES TAX PAID vs. SALES TAX OWED - This is a major time killer when uploading invoices to Qucikbooks and makes bookkeeping difficult.

Clipping items from the web and getting approval from clients to order is very easy, and the delivery to the client looks professional. Keeping those items organized is also much better than a spreadsheet.

CONS

The user interface is not super intuitive and a bit clunky.

MyDoma is essential for my business!

It's been an integral part of my business. I couldn't run my business without it!

PROS

I love that MyDoma allows me to keep my projects organized while allowing my clients to also access their project information.

CONS

I would like if the moodboard was upgraded and for there to be an Excel spreadsheet clients can use to keep track of their spending.

MyDoma New User Review

Somewhat frustrating and time consuming looking for videos on how to do everything. Not as intuitive as I would have hoped.

PROS

The product clipper is a great feature overall.

CONS

I don't like not being able to clip out the white space. I find the client interaction portion confusing for clients and myself. Hard and confusing to navigate within projects and template set ups.

The online help is amazing- very quick and efficient.

I still can not figure out the part about product views and how to invite and show clients products.

MyDoma has helped our company and clients to be more organized.

PROS

First - the support staff is amazing, accessible and friendly. Second: our clients & contractors have found the program to help then keep up-to-date on the project and communication. Third: the programers are open to new ideas to make the program easier to use. Mostly: we have become more organized with information to the clients and having one place for all of our emails is wonderful.

CONS

I don't like that you have to "click" off a page to make it go away. Not intuitive. Adding products is kind of a pain - you have to remember to scroll to the top to click "add product". We have lost information by not "saving". It would be nice to automatically save as a feature.

Love using MyDoma with my clients.

I love it for my business. It keeps everything organized for my projects.

PROS

How easy it is to use. The support and the MyDoma community has been fabulous. They really care about the the people using it. My clients love it. They also find it easy to use.

CONS

Don't have anything negative to say. I don't use the reporting, invoicing, ordering features so not too sure about those.

Reason for choosing Mydoma Studio

Because it was Canadian.

One of my favorite features is that I can communicate my design ideas with my client easily and they can review the information at their leisure. This has been a great time management tool.

CONS

I would like to see more flexibility with the mood board. I would like to have one place to put all the elements together in a cohesive format.

Just what my company needed

PROS

Very easy to use. Clients loved it because they can login whenever they want to have access to their projects. I like that they can accept the contract online and make their deposit payment right away before the project is even started. Customer service is the best I have seen, very responsive.

CONS

Had an issue with setting up my payments area, it wouldn't allow me to connect my bank.
