Prior to implementing Booqable, much of our inventory management and reservation process was handled through spreadsheets and manual tracking. Booqable has allowed us to move reservations online, improve inventory tracking, and provide a much more professional experience for our customers. One of the biggest advantages has been the flexibility of the platform. We have been able to build out a large inventory of outdoor recreation equipment, create custom pricing structures, track staff and program gear usage, and allow customers to browse and reserve gear online. The pricing templates, inventory controls, and online storefront have been especially valuable. Like any new system, there was a learning curve during setup and migration, particularly when organizing inventory and adapting some of our existing workflows. Overall Booqable has helped our school to finally start keeping track of all the equipment that is being given out to students. Before that we were using google spreadsheets and it was a nightmare. Usually when we suggest some features, they actually look into it! Their user interface is very self explanitory and easy to use/understand. The booking page / web builder is amazing, and offers plenty of room for customisation. #### Cons What bothers us as a non-profit org. is that booqable recently has moved some subscription plan features around, and the cheapest subscription plan covers only one staff member. For us (film school) it is not very practical (we have 2 staff members responsible for the equipment), and also, the option to bundle inventory items into kits (bundles) is not available, witch can be a very inefficient way to handle film equipment. There have been some times booqable gliches out in the far past (few years ago), but not recently. Ofcourse there always are some little ergonomic things in the interface that could be improved, like the option to choose what the bookings calendar shows first, or a "x" button that clears the search bar in calendar bookings view (that would help to speed up the workflow), but those are nitpicks. #### Reasons for choosing Booqable Mainly price, and ease of use. Booqable offers a lot when it comes to helping start a bike rental business but understanding where each setting is can be a bit overwhelming sometimes. The 14 step setup guide made it a lot simpler and helped me know how close I was to completing my website and how much further away I was from having something that was ready for launch. Also, the Fin AI chatbot assistant was incredibly helpful. That thing was able to answer 99% of the questions I had. #### Cons When it comes to making “pages” this was my biggest headache. I don’t like that I have to make a separate template for each new page. I wanted to create a whole section of bicycle routes and in order to make a new page, at least this is the only way I’ve been able to figure out how to resolve this, I would have to make a new template for every new page I made. I wanted just one template I could apply to all of my bike route pages. But that would never work. It would just fill in the page with information from another template. It was very frustrating. Booqable had a few issues when we first started using it, but I've got to say that almost all of them are already fixed with updates. I am all for having different tiers, but none of the caps in Booqable make any sense and are really frustrating.
