One of the most valuable investments our team has made
Excellent. I would give up just about any other tool in our GTM-specific stack before I gave up Gong.
PROSAs an individual contributor, I can't think of another piece of software our team has brought on that is more valuable to me than Gong (excluding the table-stakes Salesforce or Slack type stuff). Gong is my insurance policy when my notes don't capture everything and I need to relisten to a call before the next stage meeting. Gong gives me insight into the quality of a conversation based on the metrics it provides (how long did I spend talking in comparison to the prospect? What does that say about the pitch, or this customer fit?) Gong is also invaluable to our new team members (across many teams, not just sales) who want to get exposed to customer and prospect conversations fast, and on-demand. The interface isn't the prettiest but is easy enough to navigate, and I love being able to speed up calls 1-2X speed in .25 increments. The call transcript search is handy when I want to find a specific thing I remember discussing on a call. I like that Gong provides industry benchmarks for the metrics it measures.
CONSHaving Gong has made me a little bit more of a careless notetaker, because I know Gong is my insurance policy. At times this has burned me if some Zoom difficulty means the call doesn't get properly recorded because the Gong bot didn't get invited. If there are better categorization methods for calls, our team isn't using them. But it may be helpful to be able to quickly designate calls by type (prospect vs current customer) and use case / vertical (eCommerce vs SaaS for example). Salesforce data is pulled into Gong so maybe there's a way we just aren't utilizing.

Makes me more efficient in my day to day
Call record, call grading, etc. Call recording is most helpful for me as I often am unable to take notes in real time, so I listen to my calls afterwards and can take the proper notes, document action items, follow ups, etc.
CONSI really can't think of anything! I personally use Gong.io most commonly for call recordings

Gong.io is rather good, but quite expensive
Overall it is a great product. Sadly Gong.io as a leader in its market is not too open to negotiate with smaller companies

Easy and reliable
This software is SUPER reliable. All of my meetings(and my colleagues') are automatically recorded and broken down to be really easy to engage with and speed through to important pieces of the meetings. It's also really easy to search for meetings with clients even if you weren't in attendance
CONSI legitimately can't think of anything that bums me out. There is nothing about my Gong experience that has been disappointing or slowed down my daily workflow. I've been very pleasantly surprised with the experience after using a competitor at my last job

Gong is an amazing tool...
My experience with Gong has been great! I highly recommend it.
PROSI love being able to record my calls and review the audio or transcript to ensure I'm picking up all the important information on the calls
CONSI haven't really found anything I don't like. There is a process to learn all of the functionality. I think the thing I like least is I don't yet know how to fully take advantage of all its' features.

A gold mine for product marketing and sales enablement teams
Gong is pure gold for any product marketing and sales enablement team. Can't imagine my life without Gong anymore. That's the first question I asked any peer I met, whether or not they're using Gong, because if they aren't, they are unfortunately in a different league when it comes to maximizing their potential as a team enabling the sales organization.
PROSAutomated alerts based on keywords, sharing clips with key fragments of the conversation, detecting trends in terms of how often competitors and pricing comes up on sales calls, monitoring sales qualification efforts, ensure demo performance. Amazing tools to truly understand the context of your sales organization, beyond just their word which is not always exactly accurate.
CONSSometimes the automated speech recognition algorithm doesn't really understand some terms (e.g. competitor names) are different from a common word in natural language, and messes it up a bit. Nothing critical, but that forces some manual cleaning up and causes false alarms.

Every Company Should have Gong
GI use this software on a daily basis. It's a lifesaver.
PROSGong is a super simple call recording platform that enables you to not only record, but transcribe your customer calls. This is invaluable if you work in CS or Sales and need to reference past call recordings, or listen in on your colleagues calls.
CONSThere's some metrics in Gong that don't seem 100% accurate. For example, 'calls listened to' is based on calls you may have started listening to but never finished. This makes it look like you've listened to dozens of calls when maybe you only listened to 5 in their entirety.

Amazing platform- great for training, analysis, and automatic recording of prospect calls/demos/etc.
Gong helps me with discovery, cold calls, and learning from successful counterparts who have promoted to higher roles.
PROSGong is very easy to use. I rely on it heavily for recording my own calls with prospects automatically. When a Zoom meeting happens or when I dial out of Outreach, these calls record. If it is a Zoom call, any visuals record as well. It is automatic unless I purposefully choose to not record for certain prospects that request no recording, so it is not another thing to worry about clicking or selecting. I have years of Outreach and Zoom meetings that I can go back and listen to or watch in Gong, which is extremely useful when revisiting lost opportunities/old prospects, and for training purposes. Even as a senior in my role, listening to other discovery calls a few times a week keeps me sharper. It is easy to filter calls based on what type of call I want to listen to. There are countless customization options here, pulling tags/dispositions from Outreach and Zoom to filter in Gong. The call transcripts are nice too. While not perfect, it helps when I need to listen to something in a long call again and can refer to the transcript to see what time I need to start at to get the information I am looking for in that call.
CONS-Love the transcript feature, but as with most transcriptions it could be improved.

AE Manager uses and depends on Gong more than Salesforce
I brought Gong to my company when we were only 10 employees and 2 AEs. Gong has been perhaps the most critical tool in our sales tech as we have scaled from 2 AEs to 30+ AEs, a sales team of 6 to 100+, and as a company, from 10 employees to nearly 400 in 3 years.
PROSHard to choose one thing I like the most about Gong, but as an AE Manager, it would be Deals. The ability to filter to my team, to any individual AE, to month, quarter, and year, and instantly seeing every deal in pipeline is game changing. The ability to see what deals have the most two way activity, see deal warnings that you can customize, and even pull other fields on the Salesforce object all while being able to deep dive into a deal and listen to the demo or recent calls allows me to run 1:1s effectively, forecast accurately, and get the context I lack in CRM.
CONSWe use Clari for forecasting internally. If there was to marry Clari and Gong together, and I can forecast to my VP within Gong, that would be great.

It has been a game changer for our entire sales org, as we grow as a company, and especially while we work to align our Global messaging across disparate offices. The Tribal knowledge we can now share is critical to our growth in 2020.
PROSIt creates true accountability across our customer facing teams that we are all properly taking the handoff from one another and moving our narrative forward. It’s the ONLY tool that everyone in our sales org asks for others feedback.
CONSI’d like to see alerts anytime a specific chosen phrase or word is used by my team so that I can move quicker to resolution and feedback.

Video Call Recording, Engagement Analytics, and Coaching with Gong
Gong has been helpful in many ways and has been a useful tool for new sales professionals on my team.
PROSGong's primary feature is video call recording - which has a number of benefits. Many calls wont need to be reviewed but its helpful to go back and review customer discussions to ensure you are 100% on the same page and addressing all of their needs without needing to send follow up emails or phone calls. The conversation analytics are also interesting and can be helpful - but they dont always apply to every type of customer call.
CONSThe conversation analytics dont always take into consideration different types of calls. For example, it measures how many questions you ask the customer, which is super helpful for a discovery call but may not be applicable to other types of meetings.

Closing more deals with Gong
My overall experience has been great. I have used other call recordings, but never found them intuitive or easy to use. Gong's platform makes me want to use it and learn more. There isn't a day that goes by that I am not using Gong. I can't say the same for other call recordings I used in the past.
PROSI am new to my company and Gong has been a real game changer. I love listening to demos/calls on my commute to work from top performers. I also love that I can tag my manager in parts of my calls and have her give me feedback. Gong has helped me ramp up a lot quicker with the ability to search for all of our product offerings and listen specific parts of those calls where reps are pitching that product line. This has allowed me to resort to Gong for a lot of my sales related questions versus asking people on my team what they would say in certain situations.
CONSThere is nothing I don't love about the software, only a little minor technical issue. I wish I could easily move the date on calls I schedule in Gong without having to delete them and reschedule them.

Gong for your everyday needs
I love how intuitive the software is on the back end. Their AI tech which records, analyses, and transcribes calls seems like magic. Gong makes it so easy to follow up with people and improve my calls Im not sure what I ever did without it
CONSAt times there are snags in usability. The problem with a software that can do as much as going is that it can be tough to organizer it all in a way that is super user friendly. Not a terrible problem to have, better than an easy to use UI that does nothing you want it to I guess!

Every Sales Org NEEDS Gong!
I use Gong on a daily basis to re-listen to not only my calls, but also previous customer calls other reps have run. It's very helpful for providing additional context if any notes are missing from Salesforce. Highly recomend!
PROSThis has been the absolute best way for our team to get up to speed with learning product knowledge, industry jargon, and just overall flow of how we communicate with out customers. It's really been a saving grace over Covid as it's the easiest way to learn in a remote environment where you can't shadow peers calls in real life. I also love the transcript function because I never worry about having to take notes because it's so easy to recall the entire conversation.
CONSThe transcript isn't perfect....but that's a very small price to pay for such a fantastic product.

Incredibly Valuable Product
Can't say enough the product is incredible. They should raise license prices! In addition, their CEO, is the man! Loves his pizza :)
PROSI truly love the product. From day one it was clear the amount of value it can bring to any sales team and the fact that the integrations with communication platforms like Goto Meeting make it so easy to work with. In addition, I'm able to actually listen to my clients further, ask deeper questions because I don't have to worry about taking so many notes during calls. I can actually have conversations with prospects/clients rather than interviews. Lastly, the AI is continuing to get better and better. The fact that I can see talking tracks, various topics helps educate where I can improve in my game
CONSNot that it's a big deal but I'd love to be able to share calls in a less cumbersome process. Rather than copying a link, I'd like a way to share a call with just a click of a button. Having said that, sharing calls is still pretty dam easy

Gong: developing sales orgs into world class teams
10/10 Easy, useful and overall necessary in an inside sales role in which young professionals are hoping to learn.
PROSGong is a phenomenal product. As an SDR and someone who is semi-new to the workforce, I am constantly looking for ways to improve and grow within my career. Having the ability to record each conversation, get a transcript version and be able to share this with my team has made it easy for training, feedback and constant growth.
CONSGong really doesn't have any issues in my opinion. There may be room for improvement in the search bar - as you type it makes recommendations and then maps you to the one it thinks you're referring to, but sometimes I am just trying to search a generic word and it makes it difficult.

Gong is a must have for sales teams!
Overall Gong has really allowed our team to connect with each other on the deals we are working on. We can easily provide feedback and learn from each other.
PROSGong helps us constantly improve! What I like most is being able to have all of our team's calls analyzed for key metrics like engagement, talk ratio, and the AI driven feedback. This enables us to easily review so we can quickly share feedback, score calls, help our team take more action. It's very user friendly.
CONSThere's not much I would add here, because the Gong team is always adding new features and using data to think about what sales teams can truly benefit from. They just recently opened up the Gong community which is something I've been waiting for!

An incredible tool!!!
There is a much larger collection of information at their fingertips for new hire training, allowing them to learn faster and not be at the mercy of the day's calls. Also helpful for both the seller and the prospect to examine details and maintain accountability.
PROSGong is a fantastic training tool that allows you to shadow calls across the firm at your leisure, which is very helpful for new workers. Also excellent for sharing calls with prospects or having as a reference for information discussed during the call. It also offers details to assist you improve your sales strategies, such as how much back and forth there is between you and the customer.Are you talking too much about the prospect? Easy to search requires keywords to be pre-selected by Gong or typed into a search field. Also, it automatically transcribes the call with a high level of accuracy, around 85-90 percent. Calls are available for review shortly after they are completed, usually within an hour, but sometimes even minutes.
CONSIf you start a meeting and then have to switch to another service or restart for whatever reason, the new meeting will not be detected.
