Recording and monitoring of students' grades are easy and quick with PowerSchool.

Powerschool gives me POWER to manage student information from attendance, schedule, to grades inputting and printing. It has also great features that stores students' contacts, demographics, cumulative grade information, quick lookup of grades, submit log entry, teacher comments and test results. With all of these, teachers have a great tool as a class record. Likewise, parents have access to monitor their students progress in school while administration has reliable, accurate and responsive information system.

Using PowerSchool Student Information System, teachers like me has enjoyed recording and monitoring students progress over the year. Indeed, PowerSchool gives me power to manage my students' information in a click, anywhere and anytime. Thank you PowerSchool!

PowerSchool is an extremely powerful system, and once you're able to get things set up, it can do just about anything that you want. The larger issue is that the set-up can be difficult particularly if you are a single-site or smaller network.

If there is something that you want to do with your student data, PowerSchool is likely able to help you do it but...

Figuring out the process to get anything done can be onerous and support is not well set up to help with strategy level decisions but instead is better suited to dealing with one-off issues.

This is from the point of view of a teacher; since we have heavy workloads, we need software that is agile, easy to use, and that makes our work efficient. Just about everything about Powerschool is the opposite. While most software allows you to login with one click (such as Canvas), Powerschool it requires 5 to 7 clicks. Features are difficult to find because of the confusing and non-intuitive user interface. Errors in due dates occur when grades are imported from Canvas. Log entries used to create letters or emails are ridiculously inefficient; after searching for the student and making the entry, the user is inexplicably exited from "log entries" so they must go back into "log entries" and repeat the student search in order to generate the letter. If the letter is longer than the undocumented maximum allowable length, which is fairly short, the software refuses to produce the email without any explanation or error message. These kinds of quirks are common, making Powerschool a frustratingly inefficient use of teachers' time.

There is not much to recommend about this software.

The user interface is outdated and confusing.

We love PowerSchool. This software has streamlined our school processes. Having all of our student information so readily available to us is definitely convenient. Some of our schools have even started to email report cards to parents. This has saved so much money in paper and mailing.

One of the best reasons to use PowerSchool is that this software is all encompassing for the school district. We use this software for attendance, grades, teacher grade book, reports, state reporting, and even to manage our lunch program and student fees. PowerSchool keeps parents and students informed. Parents (and students) have real-time access to their student's information which includes but is not limited to attendance, grades, and lunch balances.

In the "Old" days, Pearson used to download the state reporting updates automatically overnight for us. Now, I have to go to the PowerSource site to get the download and install the updates myself, which is time consuming and causes me to take PowerSchool offline during the work day.

There are several things that I like about Powerschool. I get nightly emails that notify me of my children's grades. This is helpful to let me know if they have missing assignments. Powerschool also has links to view their lunch accounts, see their standardized test scores, and more. This software is also great because it can help a parent monitor their children's attendance. The software is easy to use and a great asset to our school.

The thing I like least is that I continue to get the email notifications even when the kids are out on Spring Break and other breaks.

I used Powerschool for about 2 years when I worked as a teacher. We did not have access to all the tools that Powerschool provides, for it has many features that are not that user friendly. It would take a very extensive training to be able to use Powerschool completely, something us teachers hardly have spare time for. Eventually we changed to Renweb, and it was way easier to work with, and in less time.

Powerschool does come with a lot of features that let you integrate most of the tools you need to run a school. Nice interface.

Lack of integration with spreadsheets (which could make your work easier if you're in a hurry), and not that user friendly. Over complicated processes for lists, etc. I know other school softwares that are way easier to use.

The best part about the software is the ability for users to contact both students and parents in a timely manners. It is also much easier to contact groups of students if the need for this arises. Also, the building of and construction of classes is fairly easy to create.

When moving from student to student and the entering of grades, the saving option and instant updates to the grade structure lag a little. Must go through multiple steps in order to do this.

Overall I could not see myself doing my job and managing student information without the systems in place.

Powerschool streamlines all of the students information in one place to make it convenient to contact home, look at demographics data, attendance, and more.

The only con is it can be difficult to get information updated as if parents/students do not know their account info they must go through the site admin which can delay information updates.

I teach in a junior high. One of my favorite features is being able to see how my students are doing in their other classes. If we have down time, I can check for zeros and help them get caught up.

I love PowerSchool! I use it for attendance, grades, and to access information about my students. I love that I can get everything I need in one place.

Really, there isn't anything I don't like about PowerSchool. I've used other systems and this is the one I prefer.

I love using it and enjoy being able to find kids schedules in an instance.

Sometimes the interface feels a little dated, but that seems to be because we are slower to roll out in NC.

We have been using PowerSchool SIS in our school since 3 years as a solution to the COVID pandemic. To be honest, we had a learning curve in the beginning. However, the tutorials and demos made it easier for us. It has been an all-rounder for us as it has helped both our school and the parents to manage data, save storage and keep track of students.

PowerSchool SIS has been an easy and intuitive tool for us to manage different types of data and records securely and seamlessly. It is an all-in-one tool for data management and is very fundamental for the functioning of our school. Its wide range of features including attendance, customizability, easy user interface, different student and parent platforms, enhanced parental control, remote mobile application, grading, fees management, and a lot more has helped us in keeping paperless records and reducing work. Lastly, it has various integration options i.e. PowerPack, PowerSchool Ecollect forms, PowerSchool enrollment that we use in our institute to save time as well as resources.

Theirs nothing much that I dislike about PowerSchool SIS. Although, the user interface can be improved as use of more modern elements would give a better look and it would be easier to navigate. Rest everything is perfect.

Overall, I find the Powerschool SIS to be beneficial and supports productivity. I can access everything I need in one location in an easy to use format with tutorials and online support readily available.

What I like best about Powerschool is that all of the information that is pertinent to my job is housed in one location that I can easily access from any location; this being even more important working remotely during the quarantine. I could access everything I needed from student information to professional training and resources. No clicking in and out of program is necessary .

The only frustrating aspect of Powerschool seemed to be the timing of the updates. They always seemed to coincide with interim and the end of a grading period time frame not allowing for last minute adjustments to be made on students progress when assignments are submitted late or last minute.

Remote access, timely updates, easy to use, excellent reporting capabilities.

I like the search features and reporting capabilities best. Reports can be exported to a excel for further data manipulation. I use PowerSchool daily. I could not imagine my job without it. I can manage student and staff infomation remotely. This syncs with student registration and discipline softwares. PowerSchool has been the foundation for my school district for almost twenty years. Updates and support are timely and easy to facilitate. You can't go wrong with PowerSchool.

PowerSchool is a web based application. When internet access goes down so does PowerSchool. That is the only issue I ever have. Which is really not a PowerSchool issue at all, especially since the ability to log on from anywhere is a huge plus.

While PowerSchool holds an incredible amount of information, it can be frustrating to navigate and take a lot of time to access exactly what you need. For finding one data point, it can be great, but it might take longer if you are looking for class sets of specific data. They have online directions, but I wish it was a little more intuitive.

PowerSchool gives teachers like me a great deal of detail and data on our students. This can be your one stop shop for contact information, grades, standard performance, reading levels, and more for all of your students!

PowerSchool is not easy to navigate, and it often requires you to visit multiple pages to get all the information you need. If I wanted to see a specific data point on all my students, I have to visit all of their individual pages - or if there is another way to get to it, I haven't been able to figure it out yet. For all of the data points teachers are expected to keep track of, I wish this made it easier to quickly access and see what I needed.

We have used power school at our school for the last 3 years. The product is a good product, but there have been numerous glitches and the support staff has not been very supportive. They raise the cost each year, despite the fact that their customer service is either unresponsive or not helpful.

It is easy for teachers to learn.

Customer support is terrible. There are many glitches in the system, and the support staff for billing is ridiculous. They raise the fees each year, despite having terrible customer support. We are opening another school and the sales rep was contacted over a week ago, and has still not responded to our request for information.

We have used PowerSchool for 10 years and have no plans to switch. The user interface can be a little daunting at first and its organization (at least for administrators) may not always seem logical. There is definitely a learning curve. On the other hand, if you have a question, support is always eager to help and show you the way with almost no wait times. PowerSchool keeps improving and are constantly adding features, which makes it attractive.

I like their wonderful customer service and that they they are adding new features and services.

Navigating the system is not always very intuitive for administrators.

The ability to customize the SIS product with PowerSchool and third party vendors is a nice feature. It's ability to integrate with other education products is also a strength.

The training we received was very minimal. Our district felt like there was a lot left up to us to figure out after completing the trainings that were included with the implementation process. There are a lot of unknown costs that come along with the base product. Our district has had to purchase many additional training hours and third party plugins to customize the product to fit our needs.

I appreciate that I don’t have to wait until teacher emails to meet. Just get on this app find out grades, upcoming assignments missed assignments. You get to participate in your child’s daily education

I love that it’s easy to navigate, even with voice app for visual impaired parents that find it almost impossible to follow along

It does seem to sign out often even when it’s set never to Sign out or require password for the same device

The interface is easy to use and understand, it is great for keeping student information in one place, as well as for keeping track of parent/guardian contact information together. They constantly are making improvements to their program.

The cost is expensive, and if you want the student management system and the class room systems each one is separate cost.

Any one assigned to the students can see all the information about them. Their classroom teacher and administrators have access to this information.

I like that I can find out information about my students in one place. It even has medical codes and information about students.

I don't really have any cons with this program. Once you figure out where everything is, it's super easy to use.

Tons of features, love that everything is stored in one location. Like the ability to create and save SQl4 reports.

Sometimes clunky with many screens to navigate. Wish I could have a favorite button for most commonly used features instead of navigating to them each time.

Quick and easy to use, can create presets for assignments so you can quickly create assignments. And ability to copy assignments to other classes or create copies saves so much time.

gradebook setup can be confusing at first, because there is so much functionality with it. Once you understand the choices it is not hard though.

I use it because I have to.

As a teacher it is nice that I can run various reports about students.

It really isn’t user friendly. So many features could be easily linked together that are not. For example, running a report with student, name, email address, parent name, and email address is no existent.

Can keep up with what's happening with my kids more easily.

I have no idea how complex the software is to configure and maintain, but as a parent of older students, it's invaluable to me. It gives me the chance to stay on top of what's happening academically so things don't get too out of hand before I ask or do anything .

It's not a con as much as a wish. The app has the kids' schedules already. It would be great if the class or teacher linked to the teacher website. At the start of the year, I always go through and bookmark everything that comes home, but those links inevitably get lost. Would be great to have them attached to the schedule.
