Loan Dang - Accounts Payable - Taiga Building Products - Bistrack Survey
At the end of the months, we need to post much of invoices, if more than 5 user post one time, Bistrack will have error. SO, we need to take time for posting. That issue I usually see.But the most benefit, I think it can contain a huge data for the whole process from ordering to updating order, receiving invoice, processing invoice.
PROSIt is not so easy to use, because it linked to other software in my company like Great Plain to link the invoices. But it good for all kinds of functions. So overall It is good to me.
CONSBecause it was linked to other software, so sometimes there is mistake, and don't know where the mistake comes from. Some error need experience to know where it came from. Example, I had one invoice was submitted from branch, but I couldn't approve because of currency branch chose different between Purchase Order and final currency on invoice. I don't know how to fix; I need to ask our web's administration to help me explain for this and fix it.So it would be better if the branch saw that error before they submit and they fixed it before submission. Thanks!
Reasons for switching to Epicor BisTrack
I wish there is a product can synchronize from receiving order, processing order to receiving invoice, processing invoice and pay invoice. That would be good. Now Bistract only can solve first stages (from receiving order, processing order to receiving invoice), not late stage for processing to pay invoices. (we use Great Plain for later steps). It could be I cannot understand all your Bist rack's function, that is on my experience.

What is Epicor BisTrack? Let Me Expand.
Epicor BisTrack is a suitable program that satisfies my company's needs. The only thing I would recommend to fix is the Accounts Receivable section as there really needs to be a better way to look up information surrounding the invoices and payments so that it makes looking for back-up documentation smoother.
PROSGiven that I am in a lumber and building materials industry, Epicor BisTrack provides a good solution for our company's needs as it is designed to cater to my industry. Epicor Bistrack is able to integrate well with our existing accounting software - data is transferred between the software in real time. In terms of analytical components, BisTrack has options to satisfy data analytical needs as it allows for report customizations and lets you create the reports that you want to see.
CONSWhat I liked the least about Epicor Bistrack is the fact that the user interface isn't that intuitive to use and I find myself getting easily lost in all the screens. Our Accounts Receivable is performed through the software and I finding out which sales invoices was paid on what payment takes quite awhile. When dealing with annual audits, gathering documentation like this is a huge headache because it literally takes like 2-3 for each transaction. Multiply that by at least 300 records and you have yourself a living nightmare.

BisTrack at Taiga
I would rate my overall experience with BisTrack as average. I only use Bistrack to export documents to perform my analysis and financial reporting and the software does it job, but I do need to spend additional time to format my work. Lastly, we do rely on a third party consultants to help us fix issues when our internal IT does not know how to resolve the problems.
PROSA nice feature is also that users can upload supporting documents (i.e. sales invoices, vendor invoices, shipping documents, etc.) in BisTrack which we can easily export to provide to our auditors. I am not sure if this feature was included or if we had to build this into BisTrack, but it saves us time and has complete documents for each transaction.
CONSI think BisTrack is not the most common software, so it is difficult for users to learn. There are a lot of parameters you have to set when exporting documents. Also, the exported document is not properly formatted so you will have to spend time formatting it before we can use it in excel to perform our analysis or financial reporting. Lastly, we have to rely on a third party to help us resolve the problem when we have a technical issue with BisTrack.

Epicor BisTrack from a User Perspective
Overall, Epicor BisTrack satisfied my company's needs despite the issues that we encountered while using it.
PROSBisTrack is a helpful software that has industry specific functionality - mainly being tailored specifically for lumber and building materials businesses. BisTrack also has integrated solutions where it can work together with our accounting software to obtain the consolidated data that we require for financial reporting. In addition, you can customize your analytics and reporting to generate reports that contain the specific data that you are looking for.
CONSWhat I liked the least about Epicor BisTrack is the overall complexity to use the software. The software is not intuitive to use (meaning it's easy to get lost when using it) and finding back-up documentation for specific transactions can be an absolute nightmare. Looking for what customer payment is applied to which invoices in BisTrack in the Accounts Receivable function is quite cumbersome - we need to go through a string of screens before arriving at the information that we need. Again, it's not intuitive so a lot of trial and error commenced before we found what we needed. In addition, there are sometimes discrepancies that occur between BisTrack and our accounting software which raises large concerns in terms of the accuracy of our financial information. Luckily, the discrepancies are a rare occurrence but it can happen.

A Decent ERP in the Building Supply Industry
In general, I find BisTrack to be a valuable tool for my work-related tasks, and I don't often encounter many issues using it. Nonetheless, I'm aware that some other departments might have concerns about the software's speed, particularly since they rely on it regularly.
PROSBisTrack worked well with all the other parts of the business made sorting our products and 3 way matching a much more seamless part of the overall operation.
CONSDownloading reports can be challenging at times, and there's an occasional delay when accessing certain features due to speed issues.

Bistrack Improvements
EPICOR BT is a software that is user friendly and accessible but there needs to be a drastic change for it to be compatible with other software's. In this way, it is easier to use and there won't be a lot of back logs when it comes to fixing issues that may arise and I heard the support is not much of some help since most of them doesn't know how to fix it, which is a bit of a concern? Don't ya think?
PROSBISTRACK is easier to use and accessible anywhere with the software downloaded.
CONSBISTRACK features and modes are outdated and needs a big transformation. A lot of the features are not compatible with some software's that will result in lag or crash. That being said, there is a need for a change if some companies want this software for a longer period of time that is worth their time and money.

Epicor BisTrack AP Use
Supplier invoices approved in BisTrack flowed through to Microsoft GP quickly. Our IT department was able to get a report showing how many invoices were approved by each person in AP which was helpful for evaluating new employees or measuring performance.
CONSNot easy to navigate or find information, the message inbox is very inconvenience as it does not notify you of new messages, the system can be slow, it looks dated and not user friendly, you cannot unmatch an invoice which is an extremely important feature.

been good so far
PROSthe product is really easy to use and I like how the functions are all differentiated. e.g there's a different pathway for AR tasks and AP tasks.
CONSit can have glitches sometimes and due to the differentiated nature can get convoluted.

Epicor Bistrack
Overall I believe Epicor Bistrack is effective software in organization of data and reporting.
PROSThe ability to store historical data and functionality for multiple departmental uses such as Logistics, accounting, sales.
CONSThe ease of use, is somewhat complex in structure and reporting with multiple sections. Also it is not a commonly used system, so specialized knowledge may not be transferrable to multiple businesses ( that may be because of its formatting).

Confusing and Clunky ERP
Wouldn't recommend to most people and overall is a clunky system with few benefits over alternative systems
PROSi liked the smart views reports and the recurring report option (most of the time) i also liked how there were lots of options and changing report settings was pretty straightforward.
CONSsystem can be very clunky and hard to change settings, reports are often slow to process, interface is confusing and is not always straightforward to work with. overall can be confusing and frustrating to work with.

Epicor BisTrack is a Useful Program
To summarize, Epicor BisTrack is beneficial for my company and provides us with user-friendly features to help our business. At the same time, it also comes with it’s own set of challenges, such as the initial learning curve and complexity of the navigation and customization.
PROSFor what I used Epicor BisTrack, the software had a user-friendly interface, streamlined processes, and comprehensive tools for managing construction and building material businesses.
CONSWhat I liked the least about Epicor BisTrack is that the system itself is complex and has a large learning curve to use it. I have also heard from my company’s IT team that there are potential issues in customization and support.
