Prewrite helps you focus on the story, not the scaffolding
Prewrite is loaded with examples and templates. It makes jumping in to writing easy! The software guides you through the process allowing you to remain focused on writing the characters and stories instead of how to write them.
CONSI would like an offline mode. When travelling by plane, I was without internet, and I had an idea that I wanted to get added to my story. I had to save it in Notepad and copy over later.
Reasons for switching to Prewrite
Prewrite was more inviting for me. I was coming in to the writing world with zero experience and I thought Prewrite's guidance and examples was super helpful.

Excellent outlining program
I highly recommend it. The program is simple and does it's job well. The customer service is excellent.
PROSI have found that around 70-80% of my work in my professional career as a screenwriter is preparing to write scripts and creating detailed outlines. But before PreWrite, I hadn't found a program that satisfied me for those purposes. I have outlined two feature films, two pilots,s and a series outline using PreWrite. It's become my main outlining software. It's simple to use, doesn't have bloat features, and easily translates into my writing software. It's also useful to be able to import scripts into the software for re-outlining before a re-write. The customer service is beyond excellent. When I need something specific that which program doesn't do, they have built it specifically for me. I highly recommend the program.
CONSI want built-in customization, being able to create my templates. And it would be nice to have a desktop version of the program.
Reasons for switching to Prewrite
Because it made the job of outlining simpler.

Prewrite User Review
I like freewrite. There isn’t an all in one development tool quite like this on the market. I like the interface and ability to develop nearly every aspect of the story characters and locations.
PROSI think the product is extremely useful for developing a story from Script to Screen.
CONSIt’s far too expensive for a aspiring writer to afford on a budget and the free option only allows one project is disappointing. I like to see some compatibility with ScreenWriting software like Final Draft

Incredible tool for developing stories, and plenty of room for growth and improvement!
I'm a writer-director and when writing I like first to write a treatment in order to pitch or just for myself so I can outline the main events and characters of the story. My next step is to structure my story in 3 Acts, 5 Acts, or whatever structure I decide to use, and then lay down the treatment on top of it. Prewrite is simply a marvellous tool for the task. I only move into Final Draft once I have the story really well structured and I'm confident in its solid foundation.
PROSThe incredible ability to zoom in and out of your story with the click of a button is an invaluable tool I've added to my writing workflow. I also love the room for it to be the best tool for pitching. Personally, I believe it requires a few extra features for that to be the case. I still prefer to do it in InDesign.
CONSI truly wish an internet connection was not a requirement. It would benefit tremendously from being a regular software like Final Draft, in my opinion. Moreover, I think it would be a great addition to be able to drag and drop scenes, sequences, or whole acts from one place to another.
Reasons for switching to Prewrite
Final Draft is a very robust screenwriting software, and it does a great job at that. However, their tools for outlining your story before you actually start focusing on scenes, dialogue and so on are lacklustre. I love the bird's eye view perspective I have of the story using Prewrite.

Overall it's an excellent product and definitely the value for money
Overall I enjoyed using the application and I almost use it daily and continue to do so till my last breath :-D.
PROSThe Templates, Revision history, collaboration tools, rich text editor, and image integration are some of the key functionality that makes the application stand out, and it's brilliant.
CONSThe pricing seems to be a bit high on the premium and pro/ month, and I would love to see a one-time purchase cost with a nominal yearly renewal cost could also help remove the only pricing cons. Other than this rest is just bang on.
Reasons for switching to Prewrite
Compared to Canva, prewrite is more user-friendly, and I found many other options I mentioned earlier that were missing in Canva.

A great software for story planning and writing, but paid tiers are too expensive
I've enjoyed using the software. The interface is great and makes dictating story notes to myself easy when I'm in the car or running errands. However, the price point does not justify paying for it. Compared to say Writer Duet, which has the highest level tier at $14/month. Simply put, Prewrite does not have a rich enough feature-set to justify the prices. I understand that they are still in early development, but currently it's not a great deal. For example, the only paid feature I would use is the unlimited stories, but I would pay maximum $5/month for something like that, and it would be much more enticing as an ad-hoc $2-3/month add-on.
PROSLots of great features that make writing and re-writing simple and available on the go.
CONSLowest tier is $15/month, which includes open story formatting and unlimited stories. I have no use for the open story formatting, and the unlimited stories isn't justified by the price, considering for a 1-year subscription I could buy many different screenwriting softwares (which come with similar story planning tools) once and own it forever.
Reason for choosing Prewrite
I use other storytelling software in conjunction with Prewrite

Prewrite Review
Prewrite has been imperative in my storytelling journey. Instead of having a huge pin board with index cards, i have a site with all my stories and details WITH visuals. Also how they break down other stories/movies for you to learn from. I absolutely love the software.
PROSI use this app to outline my screenplays and it’s heaven sent. To be able to add characters; switch scenes around with ease and have the ability to put pictures with all of these options is just *chefs kiss*. It’s been imperative in my screenwriting journey. I’m a visual person, and having it all at your fingertips is great.
CONSWish there was a mobile app. While it works on Safari, an app would be top tier for when you can’t pull out your laptop and you’re on the go.
Reasons for switching to Prewrite
Not even a comparison. For building outlines I searched and searched and Prewrite was the best by far.

An Amazing Piece of Kit
I have found Prewrite to be an incredible help when laying out my screenplays. The templates hold my hand through the process, and the library of story examples and images is mind-blowing.The learning curve was fairly easy too owing to the brilliantly produced training videos and customer service is first class.Prewrite is the kind of company I wish everyone was like. I can't recommend them highly enough.
PROSI love how one can use the extensive library of images to illustrate each scene and visualise a screenplay/story from start to finish.
CONSEarly in the developing of Prewrite, some writing field views were read only, so one had to navigate around to the correct view in order to edit. However, once mentioned to the developers, they updated the program and fixed this issue.
Reasons for switching to Prewrite
Prewrite has a much easier workflow, better interface and a fuller, deeper ability to tell a story.

Great outlining tool!
I really enjoy this software! I find it a valuable tool and timesaver that allows me to get my scripts completed at a faster rate.
PROSI love how easy it is to "see" the story in front of me. I view scenes as pieces that make up the final puzzle and this software does exactly that. Once my outlining is done, having a document that basically has my screenplay all mapped out to the point where I have to fill in the blanks simplifies the artistic journey of screenwriting so that all I have to do is be creative (if that makes sense). It is a joy to use.
CONSI had some issues early on with easily adding new scene cards where I wanted them, but a brief discussion with customer support allowed me to do exactly what I wanted as simply as I wanted to.

Great Product
Very impressed with this product.
PROSI love the visual interface and ease of use of this software.
CONSI would like to see better text editing features and the ability to format paragraph text in every field. Currently, paragraph returns seem limited to the Body field...as a writer I need to include paragraphs in all fields, eg Summary, notes and all the Character fields

Use it all the time
I have discovered habits in my writing that I’ve been working on correcting over time and the software shows me those areas I’ve weakest. Now, I am able to catch these issues before they happen.
CONSSometimes the software finds issues and when I correct them it says I have a ton more all of a sudden. Also, sometimes it goes back and for between something I’ve corrected and then it goes back and tells me it wrong. Rinse and repeat.

The best plans
I love it. I like using it more then most other writing applications.
PROSThe layout and ease of use to create any kind of story I want. The templates are very helpful and being able to add visual cues to projects adds a lot.
CONSI'd like to see more story format templates fleshed out. Short stories, novels, technical papers, advertisements, memes - basically, anything that requires writing.

Why Prewrite?
I love Prewrite it's a great tool for me especially as a professional writer.
CONSThe one thing I like least is I started paying for the software and when I stopped paying I still had access to the work I'd already created. One day when I returned I was locked out from editing or even opening my own work even though I created the templates. This really upset me and caused me not to renew on the principle. So I would only subscribe if I wasn't going to worry about stopping use of the software.
