  • Pros

  • I have found Descript easy to use, fantastic that I can see the transcript and manipulate it to get the recording that I need. The drag and drop of video and music is so easy and brilliant.
  • I love how easy it is to edit audio using the auto transcription. It allows for other great features like filler word and word gap detection/removal.
  • I absolutely love Descript and have recommended it to multiple people. It's been a *huge* time save when it comes to editing.
  • Cons

  • Perhaps stupidly, i carried on using Descript. A month or so later a Composition (their name for a document within a project) I was working on just stopped working.
  • There have been two occasions in last few months where Descript just stopped working. I lost days' worth of work on broadcast critical projects.
  • Luckily, I have also noticed this in time but this could have very well have led to a video having missing parts because of this "accident.

  • Fantastic experience with a supportive vendor. I would highly recommend to other organizations.
  • Easy to set up, extensible, supports a variety of programming languages and interfaces, pricing is easy to understand, excellent free trial that allows for testing of most features.
  • As we've done so they almost always have a solution for what we want to do. Additionally I do want to give their support two thumbs up - they've always been fantastic.
  • Cons

  • When there is some error with the sms sending (due to integration issues or other), the errors are not very intuitive and may take some time to nail out the issue.
  • Getting the logs is a bit difficult. The logs are not retained and it is not possible to ascertain whether they are viewed or being sent to spam box.
  • When you first start using them you can get lost in the documentation before understanding how it is setup.
