Overall good experience for the free tier Tolgee is providing for my usecase.

Easy of setting up translations for multi-languages and automatic machine translated texts.

Features specific to ARB extension and singular/plural translation is missing.

Before discovering tolgee all of the translations for our projects where managed through excel files. It is needless to say how ingredient it was. At some point we realized we needed a translation management solution. I spent a couple of months researching available options. I found out that most of the solutions out there were either prohibitively expensive or didn't have the required functionality. Even many of the paid solutions didn't always have all of the features we needed. And then I discovered tolgee...

Tolgee is fully-featured, well designed, modern and slick translation management system. It had every handy feature we needed out of the box. It's also open source and very easy to deploy and configure should you choose a self-hosted option.

Tolgee is still young and undergoes major development and improvement. This may lead to some breaking changes if your apps rely on tolgee's API.

Good idea that client can edit direct other than having go and back and missed time

Nesting translations in same application

The easy to use multilanguage support and easy integration with next.js and SSR nextjs is amazing

The pricing was a bit too much, if someone wants a real app with multiple language support the limited free tier can be exceeded easily, and not everyone want to pay for localization when the app does not make any revenue

The problem was to localize media contents.

Controlling translation DB was really good.

I mostly used Figma plugin and it is the main reason I have stopped using Tolgee, because it was really annoying to choose the keys each time. I think it is a really good tool to localize graphics but the pricing is really high in my opinion. Maybe a lower pricing subscription plan can be a better option.

It's crafted with love, it has some "definition gaps" and uncovered edge cases but it's easy to find workarounds for all of them.

Their in browser integration makes it super easy to change texts and add translations. Period.

there is nothing to dislike tbh.What I would love though is to automatically translate all strings once a new language is selected. Its a bit tedious to go through each and every string to add the new translations. If this is possible I was not able to find the option. the in browser editing did not reliably work in "non-text" mode in my react/nextjs setup. When I switched to "text" all worked perfectly.

I really like this tool. My client has set it up and asked me to use it for my proofreading, and I'm glad that she implemented it.

You can choose which machine translation to use (Google, DeepL, and the other 2 machines) on each sentence (yes, it's each sentence) and compare the sentences to get the best one. Also, the proofreader can modify it to make it sound better and more natural. It's very easy to use. As a proofreader, using Tolgee is the best work experience.

Sometimes it's not easy to find which sentences I have already checked. However, my client found a solution by adding a tag, so this is not a big issue. I wonder if there are any functions that I can download all the sentences that I proofread.

We've actively used Tolgee for a few months and are happy with the tool. I've been the most active user on our team, overseeing all translations and personally working on the Russian localisation. As for suggestions, I would benefit from being able to search across all projects because sometimes we have to locate a key or a phrase and it's not clear which project(s) it can be found in.

The interface is very simple and to-the-point. It's easy to navigate around the platform and oversee the progress across the projects. Machine translations are great and as correct as you could expect them to be. The translation memory functionality comes in handy for keeping the translations consistent and quickly translating repeating keys. Filtering and tags work great and allow us to quickly locate new and missing keys.

So far there's only one thing that is slightly annoying - the error messages that sometimes pop up during active use. However, it's easy to click out of those and they usually don't crash anything.

Localizing Fluent Search wouldn’t have been as easy without Tolgee. As a software targeted toward power users, it has more than 500 settings, each including name, descriptions, and many tooltips with over 1800 keys to be translated, with new keys added every week. Using Tolgee has been a breeze for the translators using machine and memory translations, while also providing the modern APIs I needed to fully integrate it into a CI/CD pipeline for deployment and version managing.

Accessibility support for the website. Some of the translators for my app are visually impaired and did it not find Tolgee as accessible.

We use Tolgee in our ReactJS apps. Everything works perfectly. We translate the most important texts right in the website. Hidden text like error messages are translated using the web interface of Tolgee app. Deployment is really easy, just save the translations and upload them to the production.

The best feature is translation tool in browser which allows us to translate text directly on page.

The application doesn't have any bigger issues, just the design of UI is a little old-school.

The translation is very easy and very fast. It is a real gain of time.

The integration is pretty easy because we didn't have any other software which was doing the same thing, we would just translate everything manually which was pretty long. What I like the most is the automated translation which is very accurate and help me translate everything in a very short period of time. The collaboration in team is also very easy.

The product is already really good but if I had an advice of improvement, I would use some machine learning to add a percentage of accuracy of the translation using the data of people who changed the automated translation with something else.

It has been so pleasant so far, whatever it promises it delivered so I have no complaints so far.

Easy of use, organization and collaboration between teams. API Integrations, activity report although I'd like it to be a separate option so it has more details and filters to see who did what and when instead of scrolling down.

In cases where self-hosting is not used, the prices seem a bit high.

Its simplicity and Material design-inspired design. It's easy to navigate between projects and languages

Machine translations and editor performance. Machine translations seems that can't be used, while the editor isn't so comfortable: although keyboard shortcuts are nice, some editor views (like history) aren't smart, because you can't write anymore a string if you are seeing an editor tab

Open-Source projects like Tolgee making it to big space is beautiful and we've been following the journey.

Easy to use. Especially the Machine Translation has been a boon to us at Aviyel.

I didn't enjoy the UX I suppose. A good design team could do wonders on top of this wonderful product

I would have love to ''put in favorite'' or tags someone (a member). My workaround was to use the tag with the name of the person so she could review just those translation.
