The Platform I've Always Needed

PROS

It's the exact system I need for my membership. I wanted to create a Netflix for podcasters, and even built out a version one on top of WordPress. But Uscreen does everything I need it to do and more. It was a no-brainer for me to switch.

CONS

I'd love an importer for Vimeo to Uscreen, and the ability to make some videos public and embeddable on other websites.

Reasons for switching to Uscreen

Uscreen is much easier to manage — I don't have to worry updates, development, security, or anything else that Uscreen does for me!

Own Your Journey

In an era of creators economies exploding, this is one of the best communities to be a part of, in all of digital creator things. If you want to create content that resonates with your audience, rather than just the algorithm, check out Uscreen! They treat you like an important business, not like a corporate lead, at all times.

PROS

Uscreen allows me to learn and manage every inch of my digital presence. My creators, viewers, administrators, graphics team and business partners all rave about the quality of content experience that Uscreen provides to an otherwise SEO-driven world. Our content, our rules.

CONS

Developing more internal contacts and content should continue to be a main focus. Ensuring the success of their clients pages is financially and in-general, a good move.

Uscreen was far more helpful, far more nice and they also work with my favorite band. Originally, that's an accurate summary.

Reasons for switching to Uscreen

I didn't want to be trying to win in a battle against billions of other creators. Or even hundreds of thousands. I wanted to become a successful creator in tomorrow's platform.

Coming from Vimeo OTT, wish I hadn't of switched

Migration was the biggest headache I’ve ever encountered. The Apps and Webs team were disconnected and virtually no communication leaving a lot to error. Support queries take days, hours, and weeks. Their staff take the weekend off and sign-off after 5pm. If something happens after hours or over the weekend don’t count on it being addressed. You can guarantee to lose business in the transfer, especially from Web subscribers. Uscreen says that a Stripe migration is ‘simple’, but it’s far more complex than they lead you to believe. From a platform perspective: Uscreen’s perks are the calendar and Community, however Vimeo customers will have complaints about that — and when you try to raise these issues with the AI Bot that Uscreen uses for Support — they go nowhere. They have an alleged “feature request” button where you can request things like different roles for your employees/team, a deep dive into customer information, but they never go anywhere, and don’t count on a Uscreen employee reaching out to you to confirm receipt or even discuss potential changes to their system that could be beneficial (and not to mention, compete with their largest competitor - Vimeo.) All in all, if you’re thinking about doing it. Don’t.

Some features are nice: Calendar & Community, but that's about it.

CONS

- Poor support. - Employees who aren't bots seem overworked and not enthusiastic about their work. - The migration process was far from seamless. - Content management requires additional steps: For example, you cannot simply 'delete' a video from a Category. And you can't have a Collection within a Collection.

The initial Uscreen representative I spoke to was amazing. Communication was timely, and they responded quickly to all my questions. They were also able to offer a competitive rate to what I had been paying at Vimeo OTT. When the contract was signed and I was handed off to my 'Migration Team,' the wheels fell off.

A game changer for my business

100% a happy camper! I am a huge fan and will be for years to come! Thank you Uscreen!

PROS

From sales to customer migration to deployment to mobile app development, every step along the way has been a top notch experience. I received tremendous support at every step with precise documentation and helpful humans. Transitioning from a different platform to Uscreen was seamless and since the upgrade my online business has almost tripled in revenue!

CONS

Compared to other platforms, the Community feature is still relatively simple. I wish there were more robust features such as private messaging and screen sharing like Discord.

Uscreen offered the most feature rich content management and front end user experience that I've seen. Coming from a mixture of Circle.so and Wistia, I was missing simple features like categories, tagging, and rich search features.

We couldn't be happier

PROS

We've been a customer of uscreen since 2020 and have loved witnessing their development. While we were also in the very beginnings of figuring out our business, so was Uscreen so it really feels like we grew together. In the past year so many incredible features have been added and rolled out. And out success manager [sensitive content hidden] has been incredible at attending to our needs and finding creative solutions for our crazy ideas we sprang upon her. At the same time, she always keeps us updated and in the loop about new features and helps us implement them!

CONS

As a starting company, it is quite pricey. We do believe we're getting our moneys worth however it is a big price point for us. As a german company we sometimes have needs that Uscreen isn't catering to. Understandable, they develop mainly for the US market. To name 2 concrete examples, we require way stricter data protection rules but need to take care of these issues by ourselves. Another issue is that our german customers are not using credit card payment the way that americans are. It's just not a very commonly used payment option. With paypal we've thankfully found a way around it, but a debit card based payment plan would be amazing.

A few years ago we would have probably switched over to BSports because they combine our MINDBODY booking app with the video management part of Uscreen. But, and this is a massive but, Bsports lacks all the amazing features that make uscreen so special. They don't offer the community, calendar or playlist function. you can't chat during live streams, and there are no challenges. These are features that make our product special and different from other workout apps. And if we would have switched we would have lost all of these!

Uscreen helps us reach the 70+ market with an easy and intuitive interface

We have been with uscreen for over 4 years after being with Vimeo ondemand for over 2 years. And 2 years of a homegrown solution. The functionality of uscreen over those two options is a difference of night and day. We especially like the separate bundle purchase option in addition to lots of subscription options. We LOVE the tech support team. They are VERY responsive, knowledgeable and always keep us in the loop on outstanding issues.

PROS

The visual layout of the videos is very easy to navigate for our older subscriber population.

CONS

The cost of customer support if we chose to have our users be in contact directly with the uscreen tech reps.

Cost and functionality were are main reasons for leaving Vimeo ondemand. We never have regretted that decision.

Great Platform and Tremendous Value

Overall, my experience with Uscreen has been positive. Highly recommend!

Love it! I'm not that confident technically but it is all so easy to work my way around, the customer service, support and help area is so extensive that you simply can't go wrong. Highly recommend.

PROS

The customer service is excellent. The team is so helpful and genuinely engaged in making sure you get the most out of the system. They listen to feedback, are incredibly responsive to suggestions. I also love how easy it is to set up and get going, then add additional services as you develop.

CONS

Not really a con, but they are still working out some quirks with the app which do impact end user functionality. But not enough for me to even consider changing platforms!

The best app to grow your brand and monetize your community

PROS

Uscreen is the end all be all for creators/entrepreneurs to monetize their content through amazing apps and overall experiences. We have been using Uscreen for several years now and they are always upgrading the backend and adding new features, our community loves the app and the content is delivered super clean. It's essentially our own version of netflix for our brand.

Still lacks certain features that could make it a beast!

Solid product, good community and they make you feel like family.

Overall I'm very happy w/ my uscreen experience. I transferred from creating my own site w/ a LOT of custom wordpress add ons to uscreen. It has been a solid product. They are always listening to their members and I feel very supported.

PROS

Product works well. It takes away all the tech work from building a membership site I can focus on my content. Customer support is top! It feels like a family and I feel very supported even if I know I'm not their biggest client. They are listening to their users and their community. They are always engaging with us. I am also able to connect w/ other like minded members.

CONS

Analytics in terms of where I got sign ups from (google, instagram etc) are hard to come by. Google Analytics integration could be more seamless and have someone to help us with making sure it was done right. Right now when I go live, the URL doesn't save and I have to create a completely different piece of content for the "recorded video"

The best decision I have made for my business

Migrating to Uscreen from Vimeo OTT is the best decision I have made for my business. Features such as tiered pricing and the way payments are processed have meant that I have increased my revenue without needing to increase my subscribers. Features like the community and other marketing tools have improved my connection with my subscribers and therefore customer retention. With the Uscreen marketing tools, I feel supported in the task of increasing my subscriber levels too. Overall, I am now proud of my membership offering and feel so much more confident in my ability to grow my business. Thank you Uscreen!

The company ethos feels innovative and dynamic, with constant development at the heart of what they do. I was blown away by all the features and functionality of the Uscreen platform and since joining there has been constant evolution of the product. It is not just a place to host videos, rather a whole suite of marketing tools, community and support to grow my business. From my very first interaction with Uscreen, I felt that they understood me and the art of selling memberships, and they cared about the development of my business, and this has continued throughout all of my interactions since. Uscreen is a breath of fresh air, having migrated from Vimeo OTT where it felt like there was zero desire for innovation or interest in creators' feedback or suggestions.

CONS

I can't think of anything. There are a few nice-to-have features that are not yet available but they don't have an impact on my business and I am sure these will be developed over time.

Reasons for switching to Uscreen

It felt like there was zero desire for Vimeo OTT to develop their platform offering which was hugely restrictive for my business and didn't give me any opportunity for growth. Further, there were many aspects of the Vimeo OTT platform which were not adapted for the UK market, and there was no willingness from Vimeo OTT to listen to feedback or to do anything to correct this. I was with Vimeo OTT for 4 years and there was very little innovation during this time. Uscreen has 100x more functionality than Vimeo OTT, and I could see this would make a huge difference to my business. Uscreen are a dynamic company and they care about their creators.

All-in-one membership platform

The onboarding process was seamless, even when switching over from another tool. Their team was there to help and genuinely cared about helping me.

PROS

Uscreen is incredibly easy to set up - if you know how to manage a YouTube channel, you'll have no issue getting a Uscreen membership up and running. It's also great to have community, videos, and live streaming all in one place, as opposed to having to use multiple tools for different functions. The mobile app is also a surprising favorite. My members love how sleek and professional it looks, and I also find I'm more responsive in my community now that I can respond on the go through the app.

CONS

I would love to eventually see a Zoom/Google Meet integration to make scheduling meetings with my Community even easier. The live stream feature is a great alternative, but I would love to host group calls in addition to 1:many live streams.

Excellent video membership platform and getting better

Excellent. The platform has steadily improved during the four years I've been with them. Their support is outstanding, video playback is smooth and consistent, payment processing integration with Stripe works well.

PROS

They are constantly improving the features and their education and support.

CONS

Sometimes, new features that get released are somewhat underdeveloped and therefore not useful until major improvements are made.

The Best Choice!

To begin with, and perhaps most importantly, since joining Uscreen we've noted a significant increase in customer growth, retention and engagement. The number of features we are able to offer our customers is perhaps a huge driver behind this - built in Communities for engagement, apps, live streaming and many other features we use daily. Daily, we feel supported via their amazing customer support team, the Membership community for creators and weekly videos they create to help cultivate a successful thriving platform.

PROS

Transitioning to Uscreen from a different streaming platform was a breeze. There was an entire team to help guide us through, to do the majority or the work and to ensure the move was seamless. The support from the tech team is always quick and and issues we have are solved very quickly. To be honest it's been the best move we have made - the site and themes are up to date and visually appealing, customers love the ease of use, app access and the sheer number of amazing features we can offer.

CONS

To be honest, there's been nothing thus far. We've been doing this for over 8 years and have used a variety of streaming platforms...Uscreen has been the best decision we've made.

Reasons for switching to Uscreen

The costs for any additional features were steep, a lack of customer support and a lack of updates or developments to offer more features.

It's been a transformative Experience with Uscreen!

Since integrating Uscreen into my IG Content Club in July, the experience has been incredible. The platform's user-friendly interface and visually appealing layout make content management a breeze. My members have expressed immense satisfaction, particularly with the convenient access to content through the mobile app. Uscreen's customer success team deserves special mention for their exceptional support, making my journey from onboarding to regular check-ins smooth and hassle-free. Moreover, the addition of live streaming services has greatly enhanced our offerings, and the responsiveness of the customer support team during any issues has been commendable. The Best Premium Video on Demand Services

PROS

Uscreen has an intuitive user-interface, making it a breeze to set up any video on demand service. Add to it, their world-class customer support when you get stuck, Uscreen certainly sets themselves apart from other similar services.

CONS

Since users pay for access, I'd like to see Uscreen taking no cut of the earnings. It just seems like double-dipping when account holders are already paying for a monthly/yearly subscription and Uscreen pulls a service fee and a $0.10 per subscriber fee every month.

Reason for choosing Uscreen

Uscreen's customer service is second to none and they also have OTT options, so I'm able to distribute my VOD through a number of apps and marketplaces.

Reasons for switching to Uscreen

Thinkific went from affordable to unaffordable through a number of premium options shifting to different payment models.

Incredible customer service! Uscreen is the perfect choice for small VOD businesses.

PROS

The Customer Support is some of the best (or maybe even THE best?) I've ever come across — such an amazing team, everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful and responsive. My team and I had to set up a film festival, which is not something that straightforward to do in Uscreen (as it's software built for VOD businesses, not events) so we ended up having to send a barrage of questions to the Support Team day and night for weeks. The help we were given exceeded our expectations and made all the difference! I'm so grateful to everyone that helped us out, especially to [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] who responded to so many of our queries. Uscreen isn't just an impersonal service provider — it's the best partner a small business owner could find in their journey setting up their first VOD platform!

CONS

The platform is very nicely designed, super easy to use and very thoughtfully put together. It's genuinely the best product on the market for small businesses wanted to sell their video content on their own professional-looking, branded platform. However, like all out-of-the-box products, it comes with lots of limitations. The UI is very restricted to what is essentially one template and any customisation (even basic things) will require tinkering with the code (which, unhelpfully, is Liquid). The platform is also not suited to hosting time-limited events of any kind, unless they're live streamed (which are something they offer, but for 3 times the price of their standard package).

Reason for choosing Uscreen

Uscreen's customer service gave us so much peace of mind, especially when compared to Vimeo's terrible / almost non-existent customer service. DaCast is a more flexible solution that gives you more room for customisation but is about a decade behind Uscreen in terms of customer dashboard design, usability and features. Uscreen is identical to Shopify, in pretty much every way — it looks very similar, has the same pros and cons, and is absolutely PERFECT for small businesses. But if you have custom needs you'll be swimming upstream against one problem after another. Yet, even in that case, Uscreen could still be worth trying out, as there aren't better alternatives on the market quite yet — unless your budget is above 10k.

Super easy to make your own highly converting professional looking VOD platform

On their website I saw there were some big content creators jumping on the Uscreen bandwagon which made me give them a try. Building the platform was very smooth, the builder tool works like a charm and they use liquid code which is comparable to what Shopify uses and makes custom tweaks easy. As we offer content from our partners it was very important to make sure they loved the look & feel of the platform and felt their content is in safe hands, this is definitely the feedback we receive. The checkout is ultra fast and we see this in our conversion rates. I have nothing but great experiences with the amazing people that work for Uscreen, all very kind and capable. The way you can organise content is great, basically you can create collections of videos. These can be offered as a single purchase but can also be included in a subscription or even a one time purchase bundle of different collections combined. This structure makes it easy and flexible to offer the right value. The developers at Uscreen are constantly adding new features and the best thing is that they prioritise new features by what the Uscreen users ask. The pricing is very clear and fair which is the opposite of my experiences with VIMEO where they take a massive chunk of earnings. All in all we are very happy using Uscreen for our VOD platform. If you don't have the resources to invest in your own custom platform built from scratch, I would definitely recommend going with them.

CONS

As an EU user it would be great to have some more payment options (SEPA / iDeal etc.) that fit better for customers here and give you the option to avoid the high PayPal fees. I have been assured this is something they are working on.
