When we implemented CS in our firm we changed from a homemade software to a total solution with great support. It was very exciting to be the first firm in the country that used this platform.

CS Professional Suite caused more problems than is solved.

Also, sometimes UltraTax does not allow hard input.

There will be times where it will crash for no apparent reason. I believe we just have so much housed within it and it gets stuck and quits.

The customer service is good however even if it is their software that is the problem they will charge you to fix their issues. We have had two sales teams and both teams have been horrific.

Consequently there was no real integration between products. CS overcame this problem.

The programming error in the software was a very basic error. They should be ashamed of themselves.

The knowledge library is very comprehensive and has everything we need. All checklists, forms, etc. are all there that we use at our firm.

This has caused some confusion and trouble with billing clients correctly. I am not sure why the programs are not using the same configuration for client IDs when they are made by the same company.

They charge for support on all products except UltraTax. Practice is becoming a dinosaur, and badly needs to be updated.

We use UltraxTax with Thomson Reuters. I had some questions about the software and was not able to find the answer online, I used the live chat customer service and they were able to help.

The integration between the products is top notch and so helpful. Most of the products are relatively intuitive to use.

In 2015, it made a significant error in my state filing. I was audited by the state, and based on the error that the software made, I owe the taxes plus $700 in penalties and interest.

It may be difficult to begin working with the software and no prior training/knowledge.

My firm uses the CS Professional Suite, including Workpapers, Fixed Assets, UltraTax, GoFileRoom, and Practice. Each software is perfect for our needs with extensive features included.

There is one negative however, the client IDs have to be set up slightly different in File Cabinet and Practice.

The program is so slow I lose hours of time waiting for an entry to register. The excel file import errors out and tells me the file is open in another location when its not.

The layout is very easy to maneuver around with, simple and easy to learn. Integrated software are easy to learn as well, they chose the best software to integrate with.

The system has the ability to be a valuable tool in the day-to-day functions of time management and the other modules set up within the Suite.

The software itself is a powerful tool. Coupled with the fantastic consulting teams who help us make it work best for our business.

Its great for a small to mid size firm who covers all facets of accounting.

I like how Thomson Reuters offers a variety of comprehensive products.

The software is very sophisticated but user friendly at the same and is constantly updated and improved.

Good software, wish it had some better features.

We had an awful implementation, so i'm sure I'm a bit biased. The Blackline team was not responsive and it took much longer than it should have to implement.

Nothing better in my opinion. For corporations looking to get a better understanding of your account balances - this was wonderful.

There are lots of functionality to help with things like Journal Entries, and reconciliations and lots of automation processes.

From Account reconciliation, to matching, and bank reconciliation...I loved this software the more I used it. I even tried to find an open position to work for them.

Great product overall with a lot of features and available room for customization. Offers great workflow management on top of the automation features.

I like how easy it is to see unidentified balances for each account from the main page, giving you a screenshot of where to spend your time.

It seems like a great idea on paper, but I wasn't impressed once I dove in. I think it would be a great software if they fixed the frequency of updates and the overall ease of use.

Can support the internal or external audit procedure and can reduce its cost. Auto-certification is sophisticated with several customization possibilities.

Blackline has an easy to use interface. We also have the possibility to have different transaction data with very useful features.

It doesn't update immediately - It doesn't update for an entire day, sometimes more. When deadlines are looming, a lag of that magnitude is serious.

Since SAP has been integrated with BlackLine, reconciliations every day+5 of the month end processes are a lot easier. Variances and discrepancies are easily dealt with.

It's not intuitive to click on cancel if you want to exit after making a change.

It is a web-based application for performing account balances reconciliation which can be easily integrated with other financial software such as SAP.

It could be really useful if you should manage GL reconciliation for many entities with different ERPs (it was our case) Easy to use interfaces, very good support.

I am set up to be using it as an administrator. I am learning more about the program, and so far, it has been a good experience.

Blackline is connected to our main accounting software, but there's a serious lag. Imagine you are reconciling an account in Blackline and notice you are missing an entry.
