Great program!
It’s easy to use & catch on. Can easily navigate even if new!
CONSWhen you add a membership, uou have to go to a different tab to check in- a lot of scans get missed and it’s a two part series.

It's a Pretty Option Overall
Overall, I've been very happy with activenet, especially with customer service. I have been in regular contact with the support team over the last 5 years and have had an exceptional experience every single time. The team doesn't stop until they can find you a solution, or at least an answer.
PROSI like how customizable it is and how far ActiveNet has come with respect to the CUI as well as the AUI. It's become more functional over time. It's highlight is it allows for ease of program setup, delivery, and registration.
CONSI don't like the process in which upgrades/updates are received and potentially reviewed. I have a request for a very important update for our company that has been overlooked as larger institutions and companies likely don't need to use the specified function. The lack of update impacts our processes such that we require to keep track of thousands of paper copies which is absolutely archaic and waste of time.

If Only There Were ZERO Stars
This might be the least user-friendly software I've ever used. In 20 years of tracing inventory, POS and events, I've never seen anything worse.
PROSOur homeowners can register for events and purchase tickets.
CONSLiterally everything else. No one has ever been able to properly explain the pricing structure. I am unable to run registration reports and no one can help us troubleshoot. The customer service department is terrible (long wait times, ineffective and zero follow up). And the member interface/search engine is horrible.
Vendor Response

ActiveNet for Parks and Recreation
ActiveNet is a robust recreation management software. We primarily use this product for registration management, facility management and membership management.
CONSThere are some limitation to the software when using specific features. My main challenge is the limitations that FlexReg has compared to their standard Registration platform.

A mountain worth climbing
I am enjoying learning the program and all it has to offer. Looking forward to the day I am comfortably familiar with everything.
PROSCustomer support is great and once you understand the program, it feels more user friendly.
CONSFiguring out the "whys" of how something is setup. Active web support can be a bit of a challenge to find specifics.

Many different features, especially the robust reporting was extremely valuable to us.
CONSEase of use, mostly. Customers complained about the UI, and setting up complex reports like the Transaction Export was tough for staff. Sometimes we couldn't customize things in the ways we wanted. Our biggest drawback was that the only way we could merge customer payment plans was by putting the classes in a package bundle. Sometimes our customers by 5 classes at a time, and it would be problematic if their card was charged several times on payment plan day.

Does the job
Their customer support is very helpful. Most of the basic functionality is there and does the job.
CONSDoesn't allow for much customization on website or customization within. And if you can it is not easy to find. There are solutions but require us to often to reach out to Activenet support. Would love to see this be more user friendly. Would love to see a more customizable URL that can be given to customers for example www.fernierecreation.ca rather than this long URL that is not user friendly.

Activenet for small schools
Generally, this software has work well for is to bring clarity to the revenue and payroll streams and helped us greatly reduce past due balances and reduce staff time with registration transactions.
PROSWe appreciate parents' ability to login to manage their accounts, register for the correct classes and make online payments. The private lesson management on the staff side is efficient and generating the needed payroll information works well for us. Communication module is also much appreciated for targeted emails by course registration or level of participation. We have been able to fairly easily configure this software to work for our small school.
CONSReporting is very hard to trust and manipulate. Activenet seems to be trying to address this with AdHoc reporting and Insights, but the time and $ involved in incorporating those aspects is with our small staff is prohibitive. Also withdrawing students from a lesson course after they have had one or two lessons is impossible and necessitates adding fake money into the system to close the receipt. We find frustration that all the product enhancements are generally geared to YMCA type organizations and the smaller school needs are not often addressed.

Lots of functionality - is it the right fit for your purpose?
If your organization needs to handle complex registrations, events like conferences and the like, it's probably one of the most full-featured out there. However, they way it defaults doesn't really apply broadly to other uses, so setup gets difficult, and sometimes you just have to workaround or accept something that doesn't quite do what you want the way you want it. Still, for smaller organizations, it's a good value for the cost. Their fee structure is fair, and lower than most.
PROSEasier to use queries and data reports--they have really worked to make the user experience better in last several years. Abundant tutorials, many are pretty good, some are redundant or not that informative. Fulfills its main purpose well and offers functionality to handle rather complex organizational needs.
CONSFor our needs to track interactions with our constituents, the system required a lot of workarounds outside of conference management. Membership reports were difficult to set up to get the information needed. Setup is difficult and complex in general, particularly if your organization doesn't quite fit the model they used to develop the software. Although we realize they have to have some sort of fee model, to be charged a fee for charitable donations is hard to accept, .

Lack of Features, Outdated Appearance and Poor Customer Service
Customer Service Representatives were very difficult to understand with their heavy accents. The online help search was next to impossible to find the subject you needed.
PROSI would not say that I had any "pros" with the software. Daily use was a struggle and very frustrating.
CONSI found all of the functions and set up very difficult. The function to add any image/artwork was nearly impossible and very time consuming.
Reason for choosing ACTIVENet
I was not a part of the purchase, design. This product was purchased, contracted and implemented prior to my employment with this organization.

I like how much information it is able to gather from participants and the features like scheduled reporting. I like having the option to export in different file types as that makes my work easier. I like the look on the customer side - it's clean and modern I also like the ability to work through things in the sandbox.
CONSI don't like the look of the back-end site. It feels dated and overly complication.
