Easy to use and effective
Love it! Easy to use and the calendar is amazing
PROSI have used a lot of different servers documentation and I really, really like Alleva. It is very easy to use. It is easy to navigate and my charting is done in minutes instead of an hour.
CONSThe only thing that I don’t like, is that in the scheduler, it won’t let you move an appointment to a day earlier in the week even if the day hasn’t happened yet, but it was an easy fix. I just put copy instead of and then I delete the second one.

I think it its a great tools. It helps with the patient. I also like how the app continue to update and provide better looks and tools.
CONSI dont like how my information is always lost. When I call the help desk or put in a ticket its always an extra process. Alot of time it does not work or stuck on loading.

Good Charting System
I like how easy Alleva is to use. I like the functionality of it as well. Their customer service usually resolves issues rather quickly and when we notice a glitch in the charting system it gets fixed fast.
CONSI don't like that you can't change medication dosing given if it's noticed that it was charted wrong. If the prescriber put in the dosing wrong it will chart the wrong dose until it's changed even with the correct doses being given.

Alleva is great for the behavior health field.
Overall I'm very happy with Alleva. They are relatively new but are ahead of many of the other platforms that have been around for years. As they continue to grow and develop I'm sure they will be the new standard.
PROSI like the ability to personalize based off of the company needs. We have many different oversight agencies that have various requirements. Alleva is able to bring these all together in a user friendly way that keeps us compliant all while making workflow easier.
CONSThe customer support is very responsive when there is an issue or need however sometimes it can take a significant time to get things fixed. Integration with other software has also been an issue.

Alleva Review
Mediocre. It would be beneficial if the people training would have some experience in the behavioral health industry.. specifically substance abuse. Not only does the system have a ton of glitches and features that just haven't been created yet.. but when you ask for assistance on a specific substance abuse related EMR issue, it's almost like you're speaking to the Alleva support personnel in another language.
PROSThe calendar and telehealth feature for appointments is nice.
CONSThe majority of the system unfortunately.

Review for Alleva
I like that certain sections are customizable, such as the Intake/BPS and Discharge Plan/Summary; that enables us to select the information that is most important and useful to us. The ability to create our own custom forms is also helpful, though it would be nice if there were more preset forms to choose from (particularly when it comes to assessments). Alleva's Scheduler is another very useful tool for us; I appreciate how we are able to enter notes through clicking on the appointment in the calendar, and how we are able to see when notes are completed based off the color of the appointment block.
CONSOne of the biggest features that is missing from this software is a dedicated assessments section. The only pre-built assessments available to us are the PHQ and GAD included in progress notes, and there is no place to view the results apart from going back into the note when it was completed. Having a repertoire of different assessments (e.g., PCL-5, A-DES, AQ, etc.) and a page that displayed results of successive assessments would be a big improvement. Another feature that could use improvement is the Treatment Plan. The layout of the treatment plan is needlessly complicated--each Goal is repeated over again before each Objective corresponding to it, and I have had many clients get confused or lose patience due to that formatting when trying to read through their treatment plan. The navigation on the website is also overly complicated, and it often takes several clicks to get to the page I want (i.e., for a client's medications: click clients, client list, desired client, clients, medications). Additionally, it seems as if the pre-built UR form draws its information from the prebuilt BPS, rather than from the one we have customized to work for our program. For this reason, we're currently just using a Note Template we designed in place of the actual UR form Alleva provides. This has also been our workaround for assessments, and one of the problems with this is that there is no way to utilize data from custom forms for the reports that can be built through Alleva Insights.

A review
Poor. It is frustrating to have the system glitch multiple times a shift - screens not populating with data already entered, at least daily a message saying there is a loading error. Have to logout and log back in. When you are trying to get meds to 60 people and you have to keep doing this - its annoying.
PROSThe best I can say about Alleva is that it is serviceable. I am not a fan of the system.
CONSIt is difficult to teach new people how to navigate around Alleva. Whoever put together the program does not seem to have had any medical background. For instance, the screen that you record vital signs to has no logic to where the data appears. It is not user friendly to have blood pressure in one corner, pulse in a different spot, temperature somewhere else. The screens definitely need streamlining. The number of steps it takes to order and print lab requisitons is ridiculous. I wrote the instructions out for other people's use and I filled a page and a half with step-by-step process - and I printed small.

Efficient and Reliable
I like that everything is in one place and everything is self explanatory once you know what you are looking for.
CONSWhen looking into the clients name, the documents will not pull up in order and i would have to refresh the page then go back to the documents. I alsop dont that that it would restart the entire chart when going back to the original window.

Alleva is a GAMECHANGER in the mental health realm.
Love it. It has helped us to improve as an organization and meet licensing needs as well as provide a better platform to serve our clientele. We still are implementing it more and more into our practice as time goes on.
PROSAlleva changed our organizations communications, case management, and documentation to be more complete, impactful, and managable. It has helped our therapists be more effecient and effective with their time and treatment of clients. It has helped us to become CARF accredited and meets all of our multiorganizational needs.
CONSIf there were or are any issues, then they get resolved promptly by the team at Alleva.

Did not follow through on promises
We were promised things during our initial calls that were not followed through on. The software is better than what we were using before, but I am still bitter that we were lied to during the selling process.
PROSEasier to use for therapist than the other software we were using.
CONSMost of the features that I would like to see are offered in the next tier up. I wish Alleva would offer a quality product and not have tiers where you have to pay more for additional options.

EMR Alleva Review
The staff has been very supportive and open to communication with our current staff they have been able to correct any errors or issues that we've found with ease and quickness. along with that they are very good at working with billing staff and can ceating forms such as screening tools and concurrent reviews that insurance companies can use very easily and create cases for.
PROSI greatly enjoy the accessibility to the support staff their quickness and resolving issues ease of access for staff to train ability to adjust treatment plans accordingly and open communication through informational notes for all staff to be aware and see.
CONSearly on there were some bugs with treatment plan such as dates doubling up and being copy down in objectives but one support staff was made aware they are on top of the met her and quickly corrected the issue. The other issue we see is that certain permissions are not visible on laptop as you would see in desktop regardless if you're rehab admin, therapist, social worker, or doctor.

I use this program all day everyday. This program is used company wide and has been very helpful in keeping charts organized.

Alleva making your business easier
I had a great experience with Alleva, I love learning and working with Alleva. It was easy and manageable to work with to tracking my clients treatment progression.

Not happy
I advised the [SENSITIVE CONTENT] of our company to contact an attorney and sue. We do have a good case for misrepresentation. Alleva finally hired a person who knows our industry. Since things are getting better the [SENSITIVE CONTENT] did not want the distraction of a legal confrontation. There are still problems but there have been imptovements in the past month
PROSThe idea of what we were promised. Information that rolls over to the next step.
CONSPromises were not kept. The program was not set up for SUD residential treatment though the "sales" people said it was. Eight months of a program that did not meet our needs.
