I was hoping to be able to jump right in with little to no instruction, but there are a few nuances that I was unaware of in terms of HTML code.

Some parts of the UI are cumbersome and feel stuck in another internet era. Some services can be very pricey if you don't have a subscription.

Segmentation (allowing us to properly split our customers up and target them with appropriate emails). Templates: easy to setup, customize and ensure they look professional.

I am a web developer and their API is fantastic to use. It is easy and straightforward.

The custom HTML email editing is a pain, you can't actually edit the HTML in the platform, so you've got to constantly upload, test, and re-upload changes.

Campaign monitor cares about the look and feel, as well as the performance of their platform. The way contacts/subscribers/lists are managed is one of my favorite features.

As such, lists often run into negative numbers after I delete them.

I love that campaign monitor has two ways of creating emails, either uploading custom HTML or using their in-house email builder.

The ease of use is by far the best thing about Campaign Monitor. No background in coding or HTML.

Campaign Monitor allowed us to send our monthly newsletter with ease. This brought in an abundance of new business for the company and helped to grow revenue.

Also, no way to tell the difference between hard bounces, which makes it impossible to automate deactivation of contacts in Salesforce.

It has some nice built in engagement segments (wish they were customizeable), and a decent set of basic integration capabilities. For the price, it does ok.

Excellent customer service -- a human picks up the phone when you call and works with you to creatively solve problems, if you use the Premier tier.

If your business thrives from email traffic then I definitely recommend upgrading to the highest-paid tier account: Premier to gain the best results.

It's easy to use and has some great features like you can import your plain text right from your html in CM.

Best of all is the truly responsive customer service. Sarah was particularly helpful and accommodating when I really needed her help.

The biggest problem that I've been having lately is trying to send a preview email to myself...it never seems to work on a Friday.

You will love Campaign Monitor is you're a developer/designer because you have a lot more advanced customizations and features to play with.

It seems like they are favored in terms of integrations with popular software so that is a plus. Overall I like the feel of the style on the template library and deliberately was perfect each time.

What I like most about Campaign Monitor is it's ease of use. Very easy to put together emails to go out to our data base.

I love being able to personalize and monitor email campaigns. I love being able to track the results of my email marketing efforts.

It's style  editor is quite clunky to use and the visual results one can obtain feel fairly limited.

Their customer support if often times friendly and quick to respond, and the console interface looks nice.

As our application required A2P SMS the Plivo team solution of Toll Free number has provided a very useful and affordable solution.

We initially liked their pricing (most appealing) and then once we logged in we found that they had a very nice layout.

It was so easy to set up and we've been really happy with it.

This leads us to needing to catch exceptions and compare the error string to understand what's going on when say, for example, a phone number purchase was unavailable.

API documentation and ease of use have been my strongest 'likes' of Plivo. It was really simple to utilize the PHP examples to setup my phone application.

This software platform made tracking incoming telephone calls to my clients very easy. Best part was that we are able to show our logs to the client.

Maybe we're using sub accounts wrong but I think this shouldn't be such a hard thing to implement.

We do have problems with alphanumeric sender ID periodically.

In some cases the documentation is wrong about JDK.

Plivo does not still support MMS and that can be problem is you need MMS.

If you'd like VoIP or SMS, Plivo is a really good option with its competitive pricing and well-documented APIs. It's easy to integrate and the user interface is fairly powerful.

Good logs are always welcome. You can export reports and stats really intuitively.

To compound the frustration, Plivo has the tendency to update the server side of their API without warning or documentation. This has caused our system to break on a few occasions.
