I would recommend Pulse to anyone who wants an easy program and a great support system
I have been very pleased overall with Pulse, if I have a problem I can go to the live chat and get help right away. Everyone I have ever engaged with on the chat has been very pleasant and helpful.
PROSI love how easy Pulse is to navigate, I feel Pulse is very user friendly.
CONSWhat I like least about Pulse is they took away the Gravity intergration
Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse
We chose eVetPractice since it was a Covetrus program, we did try Vetspire after a year of have eVetPractice but after a week we came back to eVet. I helped setup Vetspire and thought it would be a great program, however once we started using it, I told the PO we needed to go back to eVet (Pulse). Most everyone in the clinic agreed eVet was so much better. I would recommend Pulse over the systems I have worked with since being in the veterinary industry.
Reasons for switching to Covetrus Pulse
We wanted to switch to a cloud based program

It's Fine
Overall it's been good. I don't know that we will stay with Covetrus Pulse as new PIMS come out.
PROSI like the ease of use. It is generally fairly easy to do that basic things like charting, records, scheduling etc.
CONSI don't like that you have to pay for a separate add-on package to fully utilize wellness plans and that reporting - wellness plans are MUCH more difficult to use without care plans and that feels like a manipulation to get care plans. I also don't like the Prescription information system and how you can't click on an added prescription (one that isn't invoiced) from the home screen of a patient. I don't like how the employee time clock doesn't allow administrators to add or edit multiple punches at a time. I don't like that you can't text images or receive them and that clients can't text us back and if they do (or are) we don't get an alert. I also don't like that online scheduling isn't an option without paying a lot more to Rapport. I don't like that Wellness plans are packages so I can't add packages to the wellness plans.
Reasons for switching to Covetrus Pulse
Avimark's user interface was not intuitive and wellness plans weren't possible

Not as functional as expected
Honestly would never have changed from Avimark had I realized the accounting and reporting issues.
PROSI love the fact that the software is web-based and accessible from anywhere including a cell phone if needed. It is also great that most everything can be done from within the same PMS, ie: text, email, online portal etc.
CONSThe accounting is horrible. It is near unusable to reconcile your daily charges. It is difficult to asses the client account history, DVM production is skewed as it adds every item to production whether the client has left the building or not. The reporting is in o order. At all. To enter your profit centers is ridiculous as they appear in random order, different every report.
Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse
Looked to be easier to manage and had more features

Pleased with eVetPractice
We have been very pleased with eVetPractice since we began using it in May 2018. We tried several other programs when we decided to go with a coud-based program, and we are glad that we chose eVetPractice. While no program is perfect, we feel that eVetPractice is the best option for our growing 3-doctor practice.
PROSeVetPractice is very user-friendly and intuitive. When we onboard new team members, they usually pick things up within the first two weeks.
CONSThe reporting features of eVetPractice are far from perfect. Basic reports are OK, but if you are trying to run detailed reports for accounting and tracking a wide variety of KPIs, this part of eVet will frustrate you.

The best cloud-based veterinary software I have tried
It's been very positive. I used three other cloud-based softwares before evet, and wasn't happy with them. I am happy with evet.
PROSIt is easy to set up and customer support is very helpful. They are constantly improving the product and adding new features, and they take recommendations from current users.
CONSThere are a lot of clicks involved to do one thing.
Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse
I liked the customer service and the layout of the product better.
Reasons for switching to Covetrus Pulse
VetBlue I used for only about 4 months in 2012 and it did not have the features I needed. It is very bare-bones. VetPort I used from 2012 - 2019, and customer service was a wreck. It was a buggy program that was not intuitive and they never made improvements. Shepherd I only used for about 2 months and it was a total train-wreck.

Not perfect, but it's getting there!
Switching from server based PIMS to cloud has been excellent. We liked the training modules, and chat support has been very helpful. Our integration/setup team was informative and communicative throughout the transition.
CONSWe wish the feature requests were acted upon quicker, as there are lots of little things we noticed needing either fixing or adjusting for quality of life improvements. Would love if there was more staff working on those improvements so they could come into action.
Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse
Pulse is more simplified and less confusing than ezyvet from my experience.

Needs some improvements- but overall acceptable program
Overall ok now that we've had about 4 months with it. Gets easier each day- but the transition was not easy at first.
PROSGeneral consensus among staff is that its easy to navigate and easy to do things directly from patient records (schedule appts, view records/etc)
CONSMany things take extra steps- features change frequently. Often moves slow and search feature isn't 100% accurate.
Reasons for switching to Covetrus Pulse

Best bang for the buck
Probabaly the thing that has been the very most valuable is the ability to live chat with customer support. I also appreciate the no-fine-print subscription fees.
PROSI love the cloud based accessibility! I also love being almost completely paperless. Integrated ordering thru MWI and rep is a a time saver. Easy to modify templates for email communications, practice documents, and SOAP notes. Payment processing integration helps streamline the check-out processs and eliminate manual entry errors. QBO integration is a plus. The cost compared to competitors was a big factor in my decision - value for the money.
CONSInitial inventory setup was a bit painful and I ended up needing to back track to correct some errors due to some lack of information in initial training.
Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse
Value/utility for the price. No "hidden" fees or increase in subscription fee over time.

My Titled Review for eVetPractice
Since making the switch from IntraVet to eVetPractice, things are fine. All of the porting over of records from old system to new was handled very well by them. The fact that we can choose to access it from anywhere (including my cell phone on days when the power has gone out) is great. The tech support is great, even though they often can't "cure" the specific issue. But they are honest about it, and always pleasant. There will always be some things that this system does better AND worse than that system, but overall, we are better off for having switched to them.
PROS-cloud-based (or internet-based, whatever the correct term is) -very timely tech support -barrier-to-entry training is moderate; doesn't take long to figure out -many customizable display options
CONS-when tech support is open, they're great, but since we are on the West Coast and they are not, they close earlier than would be ideal -the client payment history screen is a MESS (if someone doesn't make a full payment one time, it visually carries over and repeats that not-fully-paid invoice over and over, and makes it a big chore to figure out payment issues) -reports are less intuitive and less customizable than former software (Intravet and Cornerstone, to name two) -sometimes, you can see the disconnect between the developers and users with certain options
Reasons for switching to Covetrus Pulse
We were looking for a cloud-based option, to better sync our two buildings and allow for use from home when needed.

Review of EVET software for equine veterinary practice
Overall good. However I have been requesting changes for the last 3 years that have still not been addressed. There needs to be an autosave feature for the feee typing in the medical record- if the software loses connection (no offline option) I lose all my work. I don't know why this is so difficult to add. Better features for downloading images. Frustrated by small changes to the look of the platform when functionality for some important issues is still lacking - would rather see that developed
PROSGreat platform. Very easy to use and a lot of helpful features for medical records and client communication. Have tried others and this one is definitely the most user friendly in my opinion. Very comprehensive .
CONSNot very user friendly on image capture, storage of images and word platform. My practice is advanced diagnostics and based on images and this has been difficult with the software. There is no way to work offline and there is no "auto save" feature so I have lost work many times when losing internet connection at a farm. Have requested changes but still nothing.
Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse
I liked the platform however I continue to look at others due to the lack of response to my repeated requests for features on the existing platform.

Good basic software
We overall like the product. There have been bugs to work out. I wish that the company would solve actual problems instead of moving things around.
PROSThe best part about the software is the price
CONSReport options are lacking it would be nice to have greater flexibility in what reports you were able to run. For many things it seems like you have to click through about 5-6 different screens and popups to get where you want to go.
Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse
Price and the fact that at the time is was privately owned.
Reasons for switching to Covetrus Pulse
We needed a cloud based option at the time we had two clinics and needed an easier way to have patient in each location. Also at the time evet was privately owned and we did not like the customer service at covetrus for avimark.

Overall a good product
Overall, I'm fairly satisfied. I believe eVet is working to improve but I may have been expecting more than what I should have been.
PROSIntegration was fairly smooth but getting used to the program was difficult. The fact that we were still using paper-heavy solutions at the time actually helped. The cloud-based process is good. Updates from eVet are easy and frequent. The customer service is responsive and easy. I like the ability of customer service to go into the software to see exactly what we are having problems with. I think it is, overall, pretty intuitive.
CONSThe practice management reports are not great. I think Avimark has great practice management reports. Since both programs are owned by the same company I would have thought that eVet would have investigated Avimarks best parts and modeled after them. I love the fact that you offer a voting process for requested updates but the process is a bit confusing to me.
Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse
I chose eVet based on the recommendation of a colleague. I probably didn't do enough due diligence to really make myself feel completely comfortable.
Reasons for switching to Covetrus Pulse
Avimark became too large and cumbersome to deal with. Customer service became poor and very slow. They were unable to make any sort of significant customer-driven advancements. It became only about integrating other companies into the service. There was no indication that a cloud-based option was becoming available.

Evet was better than Covetrus
Software is easy to use but performance issues continue to be a problem.
PROSEasy to use. Training is fast and simple.
CONSConsistent speed issues Pules is fully aware of. Been going on for years and I have to complain to upper management before problems are addressed. Starts out once or twice a week until it becomes a daily issue. None stop debates with support when its a know issue. Other bugs in software that have been issues for years are not addressed. None of this was a problem before Covetrus purchased from Evet.

Frustrating. Part of the situation was we did our original migration 6 months prior to going live. We should have done a second migration, which I found out months after going live. We also scheduled onsite training, which they canceled because they overbooked the day and never rescheduled (you honestly don't need it - their online training to utilize the program is good, but it might have helped with our multi-location functionality. Inventory management is not their strong suit.
PROSCustomizable, ease of use. If I were a single location practice, it would be great.
CONSWe are a multi location practice working off a single database. EVetPractice is not friendly to this setup, it takes hours of extra work to keep the multi locations identicle. They have an "Enterprise" function - but then it does not share medical records.
Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse
At the time, we were told that they were completely functional with multi-location same data base practices.

PROSThe integrations are great features! Scheduling, recording, and communication are also solid!

Financial Reports
Don't need "pretty updates", need updates that makes our staff and doctors easier to use.
PROSCloud based, but not robust enough for doctors to use on daily basis. Frequent updates are appreciated.
CONSI do financial reports mostly related to the Sales Report Category. The downloaded Excel file contains formats such as "Fill Color" which are blue and absolutely not necessary. I am not interested in a preety report, I am in interested in a basic informative report on how the hospital is doing. I have to reformat the entire file to Arial, 10 pt with NO color fills. I am interested in Category Revenue and Doctor Production Revenue for monthly/quarterly/annual information. The reports are too congested. I don't need to know Quantity, Tax, Cost, Percentages of Packages or Percentage of All. Revenue or Production should replace Amount in the reports where indicated. Individual Doctor Provided worksheets should be labeled as doctor, not Provider Category Summary, and should be listed in alphabetically order. Also don't need to have reports with Packages or Categories that are "0"--I constantly have to delete those rows. As hospital director I want the basic informative financial information on how the practice is doing revenue wise and what doctor production is. eVet reports are very cumbersome and time consuming to get the information I need.
Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse
Not as robust and difficult to work as other Cloud based systems, but we found, as stated above, it was too simple in design. We have considered swithcing to another system but staff and doctors are stressed enough with Covid19, and don't need additional stress with switching systems.
Reasons for switching to Covetrus Pulse
Initially liked eVet over other Cloud based because it was simpler in design compared to Improved and other Cloud based systems. Over time we found out that eVet is too simple and needs a lot of work to make it more effective and less time consuming for staff and doctors.

Covetrus Pulse Review
Overall, my experience is positive. I do not, however, recommend this product to others because of the processing integration and the problems I have generating reports. My previous software which was owned by Covetrus did a better job generating reports.
PROSOverall, Pulse is easy to use. The day-to-day operation is straightforward and therefore it helps our client flow through the exam rooms. It is easy to write up medical records and to generate prescriptions for medications that are dispensed in house. Our lab station is integrated which makes things so much easier.
CONSI do not like the change of integration with our payment processor. We like our current processor and are disappointed that the they are no longer an integrated option. I feel this was a change from our original agreement. Pulse often takes a long time to generate reports and many of my year-end reports had to be divided up into 3-4 month increments to get all of the information I needed.I also feel the integration with Covetrus for ordering and inventory management is cumbersome so I do not use that feature.
Reason for choosing Covetrus Pulse
I purchased the software when it was owned by another company. They were local and small ( evet practice) and were at a price point I could afford. They were helpful and came into our office to help when we transitioned from DVM manager.

Covetrus stopped supporting the product.

Falling short
Integration with our previous software was fairly seamless. The basics of the software are easy to use . Emailing records and downloading documents is a plus. eVet support is amazing - live chat is an excellent feature!
CONSWe received little to no training. Because of this, I'm sure we are not utilizing the software to its fullest potential. 80% of our calls are to schedule or move appts. Moving scheduled appt dates is cumbersome. There should be a feature that allows you to highlight the appt and click move, then find an available time and date and paste the appt. Multi tasking is a must in this industry and eVet makes it difficult to be working on more than one thing at a time, because you can't go back one page w/o being redirected to the calendar home page.

Hoping it gets better with time.
It has not been the greatest. The trainers that came out told us about all these features for our inventory and it turns out they were VERY misinformed about the capabilities of the program.
PROSThe schedule is fun to look at with all the colors.
CONS*Inventory receiving is taking me 10 hours now instead of the 3 it used to take for myself and it is taking the retail/food inventory person 2 days now instead of 1 day to do her inventory.*Our pharmacy now needs 2 technicians to hold down the requests instead of 1. *It takes me longer to generate our schedule because I have to go into the calendar resources to add/cancel people and then back to the schedule and then back to the day I was working on.*Switching between 2 clinics and having everything separate is an absolute pain. The task list should be linked. Group prices should be linked. There is no reason to have these things separate. Inventory, I understand having separate for other clinics but it doesn't work for our clinic as I order through one clinic and now prices are never going to change at our other location. Or I can order in smaller quantities for our smaller location but now the prices will be more expensive.*Any feature I ask about that would make Pulse more user friendly, doesn't exist.*I am coding my own things to make life easier. (your live chat people took my code for drop down boxes, as I was apparently the first to get them to work)
Reasons for switching to Covetrus Pulse
We were told of the features that we would benefit from with this program. Turns out that was more misinformation.
