JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Software

JD Edwards Financial Management is the accounting component of Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE e1) product line. This component can serve businesses of any size. The system is horizontal; it is designed to serve the needs of a wide variety of vertical markets. This program is scalable and can adapt as the user company grows.

Financial Management offers applications for accounts payable, accounts receivable, advanced cost accounting, expense management, financial management and compliance, fixed asset accounting, and a general ledger. The system can support multiple languages and currencies. The program also supports International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) requirements, with capabilities such as asset componentization and inventory costing methods.

JDE e1 uses the Oracle Technology Foundation, a package of integrated products that allow implementation and maintenance of system applications. This foundation is made up of the Oracle Database 11g, Oracle Fusion Middleware, and JDE EnterpriseOne tools. The HTML server and web client for Financial Management allow users to access the system’s applications with a web browser.

It was a great data keeper. You could find any history you wanted and could bill/receive at the same time. Inventory control was GREAT!

The DOS look. It was hard on my eyes until the Eye Dr came in and helped me change colors. I did not like to cost valuing, but I may not have used it properly. I had a hard time keeping up with backside Rebate values.

This is a great tool for customer service. Having an answer on pricing and availability and historical pricing was awesome.

JD Edwards ease of use and in depth information make it a great accounting software for the small-medium business user. The different reports it generates become very valuable in the decision making process and you can custom those reports to your needs. The data entry is also the easiest and most user friendly software I've used in my professional career.

Likes Least

Great product. Not a whole lot to dislike. As you start to navigate around, you can really learn the software and what it brings. The one area I would like to see improvement is coordination between external software and JDEdwards.

Recommendations

Look into what your company needs and ask questions that help in the decision making process. JD Edwards software offers different options that can be custom fit to the type of business you run.

The flexibility of configuration and the sheer amount of functionality are both impressive. The design is elegant and features run-time switches behind many programs, user defined reporting codes on all the master files, and an easy way to change field labels to conform to customer terminology.

It's hard to think of anything I don't like! I might be a little biased after 27 years in the JDE ecosystem. We're like an extended family--everyone helps each other be successful with JDE. Any company with revenues from $100M to $50B should take a look at JD Edwards. It sets the standard for other ERP packages, particularly in Manufacturing, Distribution, and Asset Intensive industries.

Recommendations

Ask an Oracle Partner for a customized demo of the functionality, which will show the power of JDE to handle your specific business cases. Ask about JDE in the Cloud--JD Edwards does run in public, private, and hybrid cloud configuration.

Jd.Edwards is ERP that is very user friendly and easy to customize. The analyst for JD. Edwards can also be the programmer

Likes Least

The table name is quit transparent, its possible the DBA directly change the data from the database.
Because JD Edwards is easy to customize, everybody can change it however they forget to review the logic and make all stuck because the logic is absorb all the resource due to inefficiency
There is no feature for refurbishment and separate the item between ex-repair, new or part exchange

Recommendations

I've experience in three software JD.Edwards, Infor EAM and SAP.
Every product have plus minus
JD.Edwards is user friendly and easy to customize, but the features not quite much
INFOR EAM, feature on asset management is really good but not integrated to financial
SAP, Rigid and hard to customize but quite stable
