An Excel-based solution, Clear Analytics offers a variety of BI-specific features to help generate, automate, analyze, and visualize a company's key data and information. Clear Analytics also enables consolidation of data from multiple data sources and all within excel.

All data, reports, and information is available in real-time and can be downloaded into a spreadsheet. New data can be imported into the system in a matter of clicks, so that reports are up-to-date based on the most current information available. Report generation can be automated and scheduled ahead of time so that reports are available as needed. The end user can share their reports with a single drag and drop action.

All information is securely stored by Clear Analytics, reducing the risk of information corruption or loss. Security settings for the system can be set at different employee levels, granting employees access to the information they need, without compromising the security of the information. The tool is compliance friendly and auditable. For midsized to enterprise-level organizations in several industry segments, including construction, insurance, government, and property management.

The most beneficial aspect of Clear Analytics is how easily it has allowed me to manipulate our data in a product suite that I was familiar with and with minimal IT support. With virtually no understanding of SQL and database management or programming, I was able to construct reports, build database relationships, and clean the data quickly and reliably. We wanted to manage our business segmenting income and expenses into shared services departments in a way that most small business accounting software, such as Quick Books and the like, don't allow you to do. Using basic Excel functions, we were able to build out customized P&L and expense reports, as well as advanced reporting and KPIs. This simply wouldn't have been possible using the other programs' internal reports and would have been beyond my abilities and resources to build out using other BI products as a small business manager. Those features, combined with the support and assistance from Clear Analytics, makes this the hands-down best choice in my mind for a small business manager who needs to manipulate and compare data with minimal effort and database knowledge.

Likes Least

This product lacks some of the more advanced features and reports (maps for example) of the competitor products in that it relies largely on Excel for the visualizations. From what I understand, it can be integrated with Microsoft BI to assist with this, but we haven't done this yet (we hope to later this year).


I think its very important to take advantage of the demo periods most of the software offer, especially if you will be doing most of the setup and maintenance of the reports yourself. In our evaluation, we found that the ongoing cost of building reports is a bigger cost than the software itself, so having a program that is easy to operate in once the data mapping is complete saves time and money after the initial setup.
